|Preceded By||Westros (Book)|
Burning Dreams is the fourth book in the Lucernian Valley Series of the New World world. Burning Dreams heavily follows the path of Westros following the Invasion of Europe, and the major consequences that begin to arise due to the Fall of Arnor in the previous book, the Invasion of Mordor into the Dreadfort, and the conflict that arises due to the rising bitterness of Riley Scott. The Invasion of the Dreadfort by Mordor is one of the major conflicts as it opens another section of Europe that the Orcs of Mordor have moved into and due to the alliance of the Iron Islands the Mordor Orcs cannot be dislodged.
Burning Dreams is the first of the Lucernian Valley to begin to show the effect of William's Lovie's expansions have had on the power of Lucerne as during this story the Kingdom of Lucerne stands on a different scale then it did during some of the other stories.
The Story is also the first in the Lucernian Valley Series where Edward Cullen is not a POV Character, as his character fell into at first death, but now most know he has switched sides and is working with Lord Voldermorte.
Burning Dreams goes into the storylines of some of the companion stories most noteably the Rise of the Dragon, and the New Land. The western lands of The Land are joined as the Kingdom of Lucerne attempts to expand and also at the same time hold off the massive armies of the Blackrock Empire of whom are growing more and more unhappy that the Kingdom of Lucerne is expanding into them. In terms of the Rise of the Dragon the story is entered when the Kingdom of Lucerne under the order of William attempts to assist their former Targaryan allies by attacking the Kingdom of Dustin, and because of this a war breaks out, as they attempt to do this.
Burning Dreams as a story heavily expands into new regions of the northern parts of Central Europe as the Tevinter War with Lucerne continues, and all the neutral parties are forced to pick sides following the expanding nature of the war.

I knew I was waking from a long sleep, but the weeks had dwindled after my soul had been crushed with my companion. Waking from my sleep I was overwhelmed by a feeling of dread that stretched from my eyes all the way across both my wings, and down my tail. Before I had a chance to see if something had attacked me causing the pain, I was overwhelmed by a vision.
In my long years I had gotten used to these sorts of visions, and most of the time I simply ignored them for fear of being stuck in the dream world for too long. This one though felt different. It felt like it was William. It had the unmistakable aura of hope that filled everything he was but at the same time...at the same time it had dread all around it.
The dread I felt as the visions flowed around my mind were too much for me to bare and I prepared to send it away, but then I saw it. A vision of my son Klaranax, and my riders son William Lovie II. When I looked at young Will I couldn't help but remember my rider from back when he was still young. He would laugh and scream in joy as he sat on my back, and for the first time in centuries I had someone that I truly loved. Feeling that pull I allowed myself to enter the vision.
I was watching from the air above a massive table of which I recognized from seeing through William's eyes before as the Lucernian Keep. Seated all around the table were the highest of nobles, and while I recognized them all my vision was kept on my riders son. He had always been big for a human, and I could litterly feel the connection with him due to the loyalty he showed my child, and through extension myself.
Everything was clear until it entered. A black cloud that I could not see through without pain. Pushing the pain aside I looked into the black mist and saw it.
He was smaller then his brother. He was frail, and the only thing about him that even seemed alive was the bloody red eyes that poked out from the cloud.
Flying around the Mordor Army Stragnarax launches a fire assault on the forces beneath him only stopping when he he sees John Lovie on his black creature move himself into plain sight. Seeing John Lovie he flys directly at his long time enemy engaging him in combat which Stragnarax is shocked to find is evenly matched as John Lovie is extremely powerful in Magi offsetting the size, and skill of Stragnarax. The two fight for some time engaging in conversation throughout the entire time, but eventually John Lovie gets through Stragnaraxs defences and hits him with a fatal Magi bolt. Falling to the ground he prepares for death but John Lovie taunts him for some time about how much Stragnarax has failed in his life, and states how he will burn down everything Stragnarax loves, and just as he is about to kill Stragnarax his arrogance gets him to close and Stragnarax rips his arm from his body, and while John Lovie recovers from this Stragnarax burns the arm in his belly before John is able to recover and stab Stragnarax through the chest killing the ancient Dragon.

While this was happening he went with Ramsey to the docks to meet with the Marshes, and they discovered that Mordor was in the port, and that the last ship to arrive was carrying several northern Lords of whom he silently suggested were planning an assasination attempt on Ramsey, before he told them they had two days to get out before Mordor arrived and then it was all over. "Samwell are we expecting anyone?"
"No Benjen. Why do you..."Samwell didn't have to finish as the sight of the large group of heavily armed men moving towards us told him why my uncle had asked. He looked back at me with pure fear, and I stepped forward to stand between him and the men. "What do we Jon?"
Before I could anwser a women's voice broke through "You are Jon Starke of House Starke?" I looked the women up and down and she was a frightening mixture. The beauty of her face. The curve of the small amount of skin you could see beneath her heavy armor. All of this beauty was quite the contrast to the heavy mace she held swaying in her hand. "Was the question confusing Dragon?"
"I am Jon Snow." The girl's face broke into a smirk but as she went to speak a man came beside her.
"You continue to call yourself a bastard." The man spoke with a questioning tone, as the girl beside him stopped her smiling and returned her gaze to me. The man who spoke was lanky, and wore a giant green cloak with the cloak going up to his noise covering the bottom part of his face.
"I am a bastard." The truth was the truth, and despite what anyone was going to say this was who I was.
"Your father named you a Starke. Your king logitimized you in the sight of your Dragon Gods. You are not a bastard anymore."
"Call me what you will ser, but I would have your name as well."
"My name is Jerico Swain. This wonderous beauty is Allerie Greyjoy. Now that we know eachother you may tell me what brings so many noble Lucernians to the land of ever winter."
"We have come to join the Day's Watch."
"I don't think so Jon Starke." He looked behind him nodding at several of his men of whom moved further away from us and led several watching fishermen away.
"It is the truth. It matters little if you believe it."
"So now we have a problem Jon Starke. I don't like being lied too. Some would say its the thing I hate most in the world."
"I would suggest that at this time you stand before us. Two people who I might add have nothing nefarious in our hearts towards you. I would hope that you would atleast stand before us with a shred of the honesty your father is so famed for having." As she spoke her face softened, but also while she spoke several men all carrying the same
"You wish for honesty Jerico?"
"That is what I expect."
"Fine." I turned around to look at Samwell of whom gave me a nod. "The truth Jerico is that I have come here to find someone."
"The Wildling girl." Jerico looked towards Allerie. "What was her name again Allerie?"
"Her name is Ygritte."
"Oh yes. Ygritte. Her name is Ygritte."

I must have been staring at the door handle longer then I thought because William's hand reached down gently holding my hand and moving it out of the way before turning the handle and opening the door to whatever this would turn to be. Walking down the hall I had this terrible feeling already, but the moment I saw Riley sitting at a chair reading something in me just knew.
"Son I need to ask you something." Riley must have been so enthralled in his book that William speaking caused him to jump a bit before a smile crossed his face at seeing William, and he turned to his father. "I need you to promise me son, that when I ask you that you will be honest. You will be true. And you will not be offended by the question."
There was no hesitation in Riley in answering William. "Of course father." William pulled a chair up from behind Riley and sat beside him before placing his arm to Riley's shoulder. I was well back, but I honestly felt in the moment this calm wash over me. Riley was so peaceful that this must just be some mistake.
"Do you know anything about what happened to Bella?"
"Of couse I do father."
"Riley tell us what you know."
Riley looked so confused as he stared at William. He looked briefly to me as if I would provide him some anwser to whatever was causing him confusion, but now I knew the truth and I was horrified. "I thought you already knew."
"Knew what son?"
"I made her go away."
"Made her go away?"
"I made it as pain free as I could." I could feel it all fall apart as I just lunged at him. I felt my hand connect with his face, but before I could strike him a second time William was on me holding me close to himself.
I was screaming. I don't really know what, but I was screaming. But as everything fell apart and I felt William's arms tighten around me holding me still I caught a look of Riley. He was so confused. He just didn't have anything on his face that said that he knew what he did.

"Thank you Ser Calden." I watched him pull the knife from his side and peel away the glue that protected the contents of the letter. Smiling at me briefly before reading I smiled back, and moved to the chair to let Lianna lay into my shoulder and close her eyes. Looking at her I couldn't not see Bella.
