When eventually Peter and the few survivors returned home it was a completely changed Daniel Scott that was found as having been molested by Tristan was a darker individual and with Margarie not revealing what happened this left Daniel to become isolated from his family and eventually he was sent to the Nightings to form trade work but this made things worse as he became involved with their Nighting Crime Syndicate. Ophellia Lerman would travel to Castle Hackenholt where she would meet with Daniel Scott and organizing the coming rebellion of House Meindl with him she was able to gain his support in return for her promising that her husband would swear himself to Daniel once the time came. Daniel would make a major move when he traveled with a large group of soldiers to Meindl Hold during the Meindl Rebellion and siding with Ophellia Lerman he would pledge his forces to their side of the conflict once it broke out. Brooke Scott Large

It was the last moment that existed for Brooke where she ever real put thought into a romance until she met William Lovie III. The failure of this to work would lead to Brooke being still avalaible when William arrived and set the stage immensely for everything that would come of that.

I heard from my mother that Julian was a good man that every noble mother hoped their daughter would get to marry. So it was with that information that I was actually excited to finally fufill the final piece of my role as a Lord's daughter. The first time I met him was a time of extremes. The person I met around people was a brilliant and kind young man, but the man that appeared once it was just us two was someone that frightened me.
Brooke Scott
About one year before the Fall of Tree Hill, and when Brooke Scott was fourteen she was told by her mother Karen Scott that Dan was in discussions with House Baker in order to have her married off to their heir Julian Baker who at that point was seventeen. Karen spent a long time telling Brooke how great a young man this Julian was supposed to be, and Brooke had always trusted her mother in these types of things so she trusted her yet again. It would be weeks of negotiations before she
Brooke Scott Small8
actually met Julian and when she did her first sight of him was that he was an extremely handsome man, and clad in his armor he looked like a true knight. Thus Brooke was excited, and when he spoke to her he spoke with a grace to her that made her feel comforted, and he held her hand the entire time that they were surrounded by their parents, and siblings. With everyone about to go home Julian asked to have a few minutes alone with her so that they could talk without anyone watching them. Their parents agreed and silently shuffled out of the room, and when they did Brooke waited excitedly beside Julian Baker for whatever he would say to her, and she held his hand closely feeling a protectiveness from his touch. It was in this moment that the changes in Julian became clear, as the moment their parents were out of the room, his hand pulled itself from her, and he went over to the cabinet where he made himself a drink. Wanting to remain the picture of calm and happiness Brooke just stood their watching as seemingly a light had flicked in his mind and turned him into a different person. They stood alone in that room for some five minutes while he stood facing the cabinet making himself one drink, and then two, and by the time he had made himself the fourth drink Brooke had lost hope the other person was coming back.
Brooke Scott Large2
He just stood there staring at the wall, with his head only moving to drink the glass in his hand, or to refill it once it was empty. I had no experiance in these matters so I didn't know if this kind of behavior was normal so I just stood there watching him. And then without a second thought he chugged the glass he had in his hand and then returned to me, where he grabbed my hand and moved me over to the table and sat across from staring at me with what I assume was his attempt at a charming face, but it was devoid of real emotions. A few seconds after we had sat down my father walked in, and I had never been more excited to see my father then I was in that moment.
Brooke Scott
Following the fourth drink he perked up as if finally gaining the courage to move forward and he turned as quickly as he was away from her, he returned to her side and pulled her like a rag doll towards the table in the room. Once at the table he reached across the table and held her hand, and stared into her eyes, and where five minutes ago she felt protected, and cared for when he did that she now felt a strange tinge of danger from Julian as he was clearly not mentally put together. A few seconds after this her father walked in and a look in his eyes said that the only reason Julian was now at her side was because he had heard Dan Scott coming, otherwise he had no interest in being at Brooke's side. It
Lindsay Baker Gif
was in that moment that both families reentered the room that a new face entered in the form a beautiful young women several years older then she was. As this young women walked in the resemblance to Julian made it easy for Brooke to know that this was Lindsay Baker his sister, and she prepared to walk over and meet her, when she caught her eyes and saw a very angry girl looking back at her. For the briefest of moments Lindsay looked at Brooke with pure hatred, and then as if she was able to turn that off she moved forward toward Brooke and gave her a hug before saying how happy she was for Brooke and her brother. As she was being hugged she could see Julian watching them, and his eyes shined with an almost mistevious tension as he watched them. As Lindsay pulled away from the hug she grabbed Brooke's arm and pulled her into the other room to talk to her.
Meeting the Sister[]
Brooke Scott(2
As she pulled me through her family estate the harshness of her hand told me that this girl hated me. I didn't know this girl from anywhere, and I spent the time that she was dragging me around trying to find any words that I might say to make her like me. Turns out she just attacked me before I had a chance but even if she hadn't I don't know what I would have said.
Brooke Scott

As Lindsay closed the door behind Brooke she grabbed her hand again but this time much more harshly and pulled her farther into the house, before going outside and into another small house outside the main house. Once inside this house Lindsay let go of her hand before slapping Brooke across the face and pushing her to the ground. Brooke was much younger then Lindsay and this was the first moment in her life where someone had ever reacted truly angry towards her so she didn't know what to do, and she just lay there as Lindsay screamed at her. Through all the screaming she heard the door open and hoped that someone was coming to save her, but when the verbal and sometimes physical attacks continued she realized she must have been hearing things. Lindsay screamed at her that Julian was hers and that she would not allow Brooke to interfere with her love for Julian.

Brooke Scott Small7
I watched with obvious amusement as my sister fought my prospective wife over the right to bed me. In the eyes of Lindsay I saw a women who loved me unconditionally, but in the eyes of Brooke I saw nothing but distain for both me and my sister. Not that I blamed her, I didn't feel a thing for her, and in all truth I just wanted to get out of here and ravish Lindsay. The Brooke problem could wait for another day.
Julian Baker
As Lindsay started to get in her face, Brooke simply walked out of the room, and despite the yelling after her by Lindsay she didn't stop. She didn't dare look back she just walked back to her family, and told her father that it was time for them to leave. Her father gave her a look of pure hatred, but Karen
Brooke Scott Small15
saw the near tears in Brooke's eyes and made an excuse of why they needed to leave so that Brooke wasn't punished so harshly. As they arrived back in the House Scott estate, Brooke acted perfectly normal until finally Dan left the room, and once this had happened Brooke broke down crying, and it was Lucas that found her in her room in this state. When he asked her what had happened she told him the truth, and that she needed the wedding to not happen. She didn't feel right about the situation, and even though she knew what her role was she needed to get out of this. Lucas believed everything she was saying with every ounce of himself, and for this reason he stormed into his parents room at this point nearly in the middle of the night to discover his father Dan in bed with Nesme Oakheart of whom was the wife of one of Dan's vassals. Lucas grabbed Dan by the collar and punched him which caused a fight to break out between the two, and the fighting became so much that eventually Brooke, and Nathan Scott both entered the room to find the still nearly completely naked Nesme Oakheart hiding behind a blanket while Lucas, and Dan rolled around the floor. Nathan went to call a gaurd but Dan stopped him, and continued fighting so Nathan stopped Dan himself by throwing Dan to one side, and grabbing Lucas by the shoulders and taking him back to his room. With Lucas gone from the room Brooke just stared at her father. She stared at him for the complete hypocrite that he was, and in this moment she finally understood how pathetic he was which caused her to laugh out loud.

As William and his friends attempt to all stay in one large tent it’s Carlisle Cullen that forces them to share two tents with the boys in one and the girls in another. Time at Runburgh[]

Hanna Arryn is riding beside Blake Cullen, Adela Aven, Erica Steinmare, and Eddara Floren as they follow behind the wagons carrying the royal family and their entourage. Hanna is silent as the other girls gossip over boys with Blake having a crush on Jasper Hale while Erica and Eddara discussing how handsome they think William is. Hanna is uncomfortable with this conversation and so allows herself to fall behind the other girls and instead rides beside the House Bell part of the baggage train and begins talking with her friend Hanah Bell of whom she laughs that she first became friends with due to having the same name. The convoy arrives at Runburgh and so Hanna leaves Hanah and returns to the Malatine where she scoffs as they are still talking about Jasper and William. As the convoy stops its Hanna that joins the others of Alice’s Malatine in traveling ahead of the convoy into the city where they will prepare the room for Alice. The group stops at the town of Runburgh where William, Edward, Jasper, and Dylan are gifted a suit of armor by Lord Yohn Royce, and the Grand Master of the two Runestone Guilds. The suit made for William is described as something above anything they have ever crafted before, and behind the scenes it had runes crafted on it that make William immune to the effects of Magi while wearing it. Following being given this gift its William, Alice, Leven, and Edward that are taken into the Great Peak of Runestone where Grand Master Eadwig Schuhbeck, and Grand Master Daniel Schunemann show them the entrance to the forges of the Inner Rune which have never been entered by anyone outside of the Inner Circle of the Runestone Guilds.

Think of where we are my friends. We are sleeping in a place barely anyone has been allowed to enter. We are blessed by Glaurung himself this day.
William Lovie III.

Following this tour, the group is given lodgings inside the mid-level of Runestone leaving the eight of them to all stay in a large open-air room where they can see out for miles. Alice leaves to go and see her Malatine before bed, and in passing William tells Alice to bring one of them back as a reward for their work. Alice arrives at the room her Malatine had prepared for her and thanks each of them for all their work, and then they all sit down and talk together about how things went for Alice in the main carriage. Alice reveals how close her brother William and Rosalie are getting and at this both Eddara and Erica make petty comments about Rosalie to which Alice says nothing, but Hanna does say that her sister Aria says that Rosalie has a mind for the politics of being with William. After this conversation its Alice that reveals she will be staying with William and the others in the open-air room prepared for him and says that she can bring one person with her. To the shock of the Malatine she asks Hanna to come with her stating quite honestly that she is the only one who Alice believes can control her feelings. Hanna follows Alice as they enter the lift and travelling up its Hanna that begins to get quite nervous, but she is calmed down by Alice who holds her hand and smiles at her. Hanna goes to sleep that night with the rest of the Shadow Council and for the first time she feels like one of their friends, and not just the sister of Aria. Going to sleep William lays beside his sister to one side, and Rosalie Hale to the other with the two talking romantically for some time before going to sleep. Following the night Hanna wakes in the morning before Alice and does her best to prepare something for her, but is stopped by William, and Edward who instead force her to go to the edge of the room and look out with them. Edward does a Magi trick and William makes them all laugh, and Hanna can’t help but find herself attracted to William. When the others begin waking up and join them its Hanna that tries to get away but its Aria that refuses to let her go and despite her nerves, she begins to join the conversation more as the time goes by.

That night its Leofrich that is moved by a knock at the door and when the door opens its Daniel Schunemann, Yohn Royce, and Catherine Lovie that come inside the room. Catherine begins crying telling Leofrich that she is so sorry for what happened and wishes she could go back and change it. Watching my father act this way was never easy. It was embarrassing on the surface. Beneath that feeling stood fear. Fear that perhaps I was destined to become my father.
William Lovie III.

Leaving the room, she travels to the walls where she sits in a quiet tower by herself and spends several hours praying to Glaurung attempting to find peace from her constant thoughts of William. As she prays a vision of William appears and she talks with this vision with the two flirting, and eventually kissing. The House Crane group enters through the front gate of Gulltown and Orival Crane alongside his friends, follow his father and his most prominent bannermen. As they continue following his father he looks back to the rear of the group and sees his betrothed Estrid Orane. Estrid smiles at him, and while he returns the smile, he is still unsure of her due to her opinions on the Swabians. The group runs into a group led by William Lovie III. and while Orival doesn’t get to speak to William he sees the opportunity to form an alliance in the coming melee and sends his friend Germira Cranewel to organize this with William. Continuing into the city his father leads them towards the keep where they are to meet with a House Shephard representative who is to take them to their lodgings. Once they reach the keep his father meets with Ratmann Rickard Taubman. Rickard leads the group with the assistance of his son Timothy Taubman, and daughter Amalia Taubman towards their lodgings. During this final trip its Orival that is brought to the front by his father and Orival listens in as Rickard discusses the situation in northern Lucerne. Arriving at the camp its Orival that is going to spend time with his friends when his father whispers to him that he is to instead take Estrid to visit the Great Temple of Kyne. It’s implied from the words of his father that Orival is having doubts about his betrothal to Estrid, but Orival is unwilling to resist the words of his father and pushes this aside. Listening to the words of his father without question he goes to Estrid who is getting his mother Falena’s tent ready.

It speaks to your misplaced loyalties that you send that Swab to make deals for you.
Estrid Orane

Going to Estrid she is clearly excited to see him approach her, and she goes into the back of the tent to change for her trip to the Temple. While Estrid is changing the main person pushing for him to treat her well in the form of his mother pulls him into a hug. Orival thinks it’s nice to have her back around, but he is sad when he realizes that once his marriage to Estrid is completed then his mother will return to the Grand Temple of Crane. Orival and Estrid walk together to the Great Temple of Kyne and the two have a good time on the way until Estrid notices a group of Swabian selling goods at a booth and begins making racist comments about them. Orival ignores this and tries to have a good time with her but can’t ignore it anymore once she attacks Germira. The two have an argument on the steps leading to Orival abandoning her at the temple and making his way back to their lodgings but he becomes lost and eventually winds up back at the Swabians booth that Estrid had insulted earlier.

Watching the group speak Swabian he thinks back on his positive experiences with the Swabians through the years and approaches the group buying a shirt from their booth. Returning to the camp without Estrid he is reprimanded by his mother who forces him to return to the temple with her. Accompanying his mother back to the temple she explains the different life experiences that people have, and why these things don’t make having different opinions evil. Listening to his mother they enter the temple to find Estrid inside at prayer and as he kneels beside her joined by his mother, he looks at her face and sees that she has been crying. When his mother steps away to speak with the bishops of the temple its Orival that apologizes to her for leaving her. Estrid to his surprise apologizes for what she said about Swabians, and while she doesn’t understand his love for them, she promises to attempt to see what he sees.

Reaching the camp, he does his best to not show what is happening and joined by Servius of Clegane he goes into Gulltown attempting to find Meinolf and he can’t to find help himself. As they enter Gulltown they are met on the road by Meinolf who is accompanied by a man and women who he doesn’t recognize. Also on the wall watching this arrival is several prominent nobles in the form of Richard Lonmouth, and his son Victor Lonmouth as well as Renford Varryn and his son Renford Varryn II. While watching this Mace Tyrell II, and Emric Elric arrive with several of their personal guard and while Margarie continues to watch the arrival of Marius its Peter that takes Brooke's hand and brings her to the incoming noblemen alongside the Lonmouth's and Varryns. A conversation ensues where Peter asks for their support at the upcoming Feast of Tree Hill and while Emric is quick to agree to support Peter holding his cross as he gives Peter his word, its Mace that is reluctant to swear to his support. Brooke watches as the two haggle back in forth with Brooke not knowing what is in question but as Mace appears prepared to walk away its Peter that takes the group to the wall and looking down points out Matilda Lovie. Peter succeeds in having Mace agree to swear his support to him in return for Peter promising to allow Mace to send a troop of Tyrell men to guard Matilda alongside the Scott men. As she prepares to go down and meet with her cousin her grandfather leaves for the keep telling her that he must make last minute preparations for the upcoming celebration Feast that is being held in Marius honor, and then leaves with Mace Tyrell. Following her grandfather leaving its Brooke that goes with her grandmother back to the keep, where Brooke plans to meet with her friends Haley James, and Peyton Sawyer. Brooke's Discovery[]

I knew that my father was a less then loving father. I didn't know there was a darker part to him then that.
Brooke Scott

That night its Brooke, Haley, and Peyton that go back to her family’s estate within the keep where her two friends join her in spending the night in her room. Brooke goes to her grandfather’s room to say goodnight and finding no guards she realizes he must be away. Planning to go inside his room and write a note for him before he arrives home, she opens his door using the key that he has given her. Going to his desk to get paper to write the note she stops when she sees a document with the title of report on Daniel Scott. Brooke is too nosy to ignore the document and instead of leaving as she knows she should she decides to read it. The document details an investigation done by Tilman Fischart the Ratmann of Tree Hill. Tilman had used his influence to find out information on Daniel Scott the son of Peter and Brooke’s father. This had been in response to Peter becoming concerned about his son and worrying that Daniel was a poor choice for the future of the Stormlands. During his investigation it was Tilman that had discovered that Daniel was in fact not a Christian and had converted to a Misotheism religious belief. Documents were found by Tilman in the private quarters of Daniel that detailed this philosophy, and this was confirmed unknowingly by Daniel himself when during the investigation it was Daniel that revealed his agreement with the text. The investigation also uncovered that Daniel had significant business involvement with House Nighting and this further showed the moral decay of Daniel Scott. Reading this caused Brooke to flee the room in a rush returning to her own room where she tried to sleep but the knowledge of what she had just learned about her father led to her tossing and turning all night.

Picking Sides[]
This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

Having been in and out of sleep all night the chirping of the birds at her window leads to her getting up before Haley and Peyton are awake and leaving her room for her grandfather’s office. Knowing he barely sleeps she hopes to find him in his office and seeing guards at his office doors its confirmed that hes inside. The guards who she knew as the palace guardsmen Gadaric of Scott, and Theodemar of Trensdale would tell her that she had to wait to go in as he was in a meeting. Surprised that he would be meeting so early she sat on the bench across from the door. After several minutes it was the door that opened and several men exited the room including a knight she didn’t recognize, her grandfathers personal guard Fridigarn Waldenbint. As her grandfather exited the room another man followed him who she recognized as baron Ralph Guntbold, as well as a young girl that Brooke believed was Ralphs daughter Lanna Guntbold. She watched as her grandfather and Ralph shook hands in a move that surprised her because she knew Ralph to be a close friend of her father who having read the letter, she knew would put her grandfather and Daniel on two different sides of the politics of the Stormlands. As the group departs down the hallway its Peter that invites Brooke into his office, and she follows behind him sharing a brief smile with Fridigarn. Closing the door behind her its Peter that tells her that he knows she read the letter about her father. He says that the letter was moved and her coming here now tells him that it was her that looked at it. She admits to seeing the letter and the two discuss his understanding that this puts her in a bad position, but Peter convinces her that he loves Daniel but cannot allow him to become the leader of the Stormlands after he’s gone.

This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

Understanding the logic of what hes saying the two share a hug where Peter tells her he loves her, and Brooke promises her grandfather that she won’t reveal what she read. Leaving Peter’s office, she goes back to her room where she finds Peyton and Haley are reading, but they both stop when she comes back. Unable to tell even her best friends what she learned she lies to them and goes to reading with them, but her mind is wandering as she does. Haley and Peyton eventually return to their homes leaving Brooke alone. Left alone she quickly leaves her room and finding Fridigarn she tricks him into telling her where the Guntbold’s are staying in the city. Learning they are staying in secret at his personal apartments in the Sea Gate its Brooke that leaves the keep going to speak with Lanna Guntbold. Arriving at the Seagate of Tree Hill she enters the Waldenbint estate and finds Lanna in the courtyard sitting alone reading a book.

The Speech[]

This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

The speech details that he plans to vote at this meeting to change the succession laws of the Stormlands to Tanistry, and he makes it clear that the reason for this is to keep Daniel from becoming the new lord after he dies. Taylor watches as the hall erupts into anger over this as those who support Peter fight with those who support Daniel, but as the yelling reaches its pinnacle its Marius that smashes the bell causing the whole room to stop and stare at him. Marius delivers a speech describing his view on the future of the Stormlands and playing even more at the fears people have over Daniel he successfully forces Daniel to stand his men down lest he look like the man they are accusing him of being. Daniel leaves the room with several of his most ardent supporters leaving Marius and most of the diet to remain behind and listen as Marius continues to talk of the positives that the Stormlands has in front of it.

Taylor Discovered[]
Do you think this is funny? Have a told a joke to you little girl? Am I wearing the clothes of a jester? Trust me the next time I see you, I will show what a joke I am.
Daniel Scott

As they continue watching the speech it is a door that slams open and as Daniel comes through, Clayton, Nathan, Taylor and Lilly flee but Taylor trips and is noticed by Daniel. Daniel sees that she was looking through the window and realizing that she saw his embarrassment firsthand he verbally attacks her leaving her in tears, but as Nathan prepares to come out of his hiding spot, she waves him away instead taking the abuse. After Daniel finally tires of this abuse, he grabs her by the shirt ripping her top as he drags her back through the door and throws her onto the other side locking it behind her. Taylor is taken out of the keep by a man at arm as was ordered by Daniel and taken outside the gates of the keep she is not sure what to do as she barely knows the city outside of the tour that Nathan gave her. Knowing that her family as a small apartment in the city where her uncle Hank James lives with his family, she asks the guard where the property is but he refuses to help her and demands she cross the Bridge of Saint Reginald, and crying she watches him struggle with his order, and then as continues to cry, he goes to her and pretends to drag her away but instead whispers to her the location of her uncles apartment. Going through the streets she gets help from different vendors on the street and successfully makes her way to the apartment of her uncle and knocking on the door she is greeted by her aunt Mary James, and cousin Gloria James. Without a word her aunt pulls her into a hug and unable to speak as she begins crying again her aunt takes her to her room and lays her down staying with her while rubbing her back and taking care of her as best, she can.

A Scott in Fogtown
You didn`t have to be told what his standing in the world was because he threw it in your face. You spoke to him, and you just knew this was a twisted, and arrogant young man, but even I didn`t imagine in my wildest dreams how twisted he truly was. His true darkness was far beyond my imaginations.

Robin Highport

Nathan Scott would be sent to Fogtown as his father secretly was in the final stages of the plan for the First Battle of Tree Hill, as a means of protecting his hopeful heir. Leaving Tree Hill he was joined by his betrothed Margaery Tyrell, and alongside a group of his friends, and her entourage they were meant to be educated by the Highports for several months as the public reason for this move. Alongside Nathan went a small entourage of his friends, and several of Margaery`s hand maidens of which brought a large contingent of servants with them leading to a rather large convoy making its way to Fogtown. Nathan and Margaery were by this point being paired up alongside Nathan and Haley and Dan had chosen Margaery to go with him as he preferred Margaery over Haley and thus wanted to sway the Tyrells into moving before Peter Scott stepped in. The group made there way from Tree Hill southward towards Nighthold where they would be transported to Fogtown by fleet, and arriving at Nighthold it was the group that added several darker figures to its ranks when the Bandits Lothar Calnalys, and Walderan Heitmann of whom had much darker ideas in mind when it came to the trip. The trip by the water was uneventful with the internally torn Nathan confused about his feelings he treated Margaery with kindness but was also constantly thinking on Haley Scott, and even in the back of his mind it was Taylor James that came to him. Nathan at this point simply knew that his father and grandfather were trying to find the best match for him, and while he personally still longed for Taylor, he publicly showed favoritism to Margaery in his goal of pleasing his father. As they stopped at Bronheim to resupply it was Margaery that seduced the very conflicted Nathan, and this did work to change his mind about her as the once deeply religious Margaery changed herself to please Nathan. The two delayed the move from Bronheim by several days as the now smitten Nathan would decide to take her on a carriage ride to the nearby Waterfall of Bronheim. Spending the day at the waterfall it was Nathan that learned more about Margaery and discovering she was not the silent conservative girl he had assumed her to be he continued to change his mind about what he wanted for his future. Eventually after several days visiting the waterfall and spending the nights together it was the group that was forced to continue their way to Fogtown, but as they were leaving, they were told of the Falls of Fogtown.

I do not know what happened to that girl back in the village. All I know is that she did not have even half as good a time as your sister is going to.
Nathan Scott

Returning to the water they eventually arrived at Fogtown but instead of landing in the city it was Nathan and Margaery that landed north of the city near the village of Fogtownist where they would make there way to the Falls of Fogtown. While Nathan, Margaery, and (find several of the friends) spent the day at the falls planning to spend the night there, it was Lothar, and Walderan and their Lions of Castamere men that would get drunk back at Fogtownist and Lothar would rape a young girl there before the group fled making their way to their boat and towards Rosenghard which was there true destination all along. So as the main party delayed at the waterfall of Fogtown having a good time, it was the villagers of Fogtownist that sent word to Fogtown about the attack. The villagers arrived at Fogtown ahead of Nathan’s party who was just leaving when they arrived, and they went immediately to First Knight of Fogtown in the form of Johan Highport who took the matter seriously. Johan would gather several knights to his side and go to his son Kevan bringing him with him as he planned to investigate the matter. Learning of the detour taken by the party of Nathan its Natalie Highport that is sent by her father to meet with Nathan. Natalie who is distant from her husband Dontell Lott travels without him accompanied by only her personal guards, and her handmaidens. Meeting Nathan’s party on the road several hours from Fogtown she is attracted to him from the moment she sees him, and while Nathan is polite with her, she is openly flirtatious with him to the annoyance of Margaery Tyrell. Seeing this flirtation and fearing for her position its Margaery that begins planning to create a schism in Fogtown so that she can get him to herself.

While riding outside Fogtown with Percival, and Dontell they see the Tree Hill party arrive and return to the town where they arrive just in time to be introduced to Nathan Scott, and Margaery Tyrell who have arrived alongside a small entourage of his friends, and several of Margaery`s hand maidens of which brought a large contingent of servants. Also in this group he finds his sister is among them and the way she is lookDuring this initial meeting Robin and Nathan speak briefly before Nathan leaves taking the hand of Robins sister and asking her for a tour of the city something that clearly upsets Margaery which Robin notices and goes to her to try and smooth things over. Speaking with Margaery changes everything as she tells him that he should be worried about Natalie as Nathan has issues with women and that is everything she can do just to keep him from raping her and as she talks she begins to cry which causes Robin to hug her and as he hugs her he flashes to memories of the abuse by his mother but is pushed out of this by a push from behind as Nathan pushes him to the ground also knocking down Margaery. Alongside this fighting was a fight between Robins friend Percival Lott, and Nathan`s friend Oswart Dunny of whom had also started to become hateful towards the other due to their friends rivalries. Margaery made special efforts to be seen by Nathan around Robin and she worked hard to become his friend so that their relationship appeared to be something strong enough that Nathan would believe in the lie he was being told by Margaery. The two boys without anymore effort hated each other and got into a massive fight in the Highport keep which ended with bruises, and cuts. Nathan decided to take it further and begin flirting with Natalie Highport of whom resisted him in one of the first rejections of his life which caused him to get angry and it was in this anger that Robin found him, and the two fought once more which was broken up only seconds before they were going to take swords out. With this fight leading to almost the death of one of the boys Robett Highport wrote to his Lord Dan Scott telling him in no uncertain terms that his son Robin was at fault and that Nathan should be removed from son before Robin did something worse. Nathan would learn of this in a letter from his father telling him he was returning and he threw this information in Robin`s face of whom now realized once and for all his father hated him, and this was only made worse when Robett told his family he would be following Nathan and Margaery and going to stay in Tree Hill for a time.

Burning of Oakheart[]

First Battle of Brakeheart Hold[]
Moving East of Brakeheart[]

Emmerich Indven IV. would send two of his Glodenmarshals in Mombert Medven, and Thenbald Dendven away from the siege of Brakeheart Hold eastward where they were to capture the villages and strong points east of the city making counter attacks against the siege more difficult. A swabian force led by Mombert Medven II. would attack the village of Brakehaerthet and during this attack it was Mombert that took control of the village without bloodshed and then orchestrated a controlled sack of the village which only ended with bloodshed when they took the girls of the village as slaves. Following the attack on Brakehaerthet it was Mombert that forced the remaining villagers to flee the village and then left a small force to occupy the village while his main force moved eastwards towards Brakeheartnet. The village of Brakeheartnet would be warned of the coming Swabian attack before they arrived and learning of this it was Adelhelm Moldenheart that ordered the women and children out of the village to go northward to Estenheart Manor while the remainder fortified the village as best they could and prepared for the coming attack. The Swabians arrived and despite the preparations the villagers would be pushed out of the village and surrounded inside the estate of House Moldenheart where the Swabians blocked them into while they sacked the village.

First Battle of Deltevh Hold[]
Siege of Castle Oakheart[]
Surrounding Castle Oakheart[]

Diethard Weideman would be within Oakhearthet when he learned of the attacking Swabians and moving quickly he rallied his vassals and quickly had amassed his forces and begin fortifying Oakhearthet but also sent more men to the southern approach sentry tower. Diethard would learn of the siege of Oakheart and made the decision to send more then half his men towards Oakhearted the Blue under the command of his Glodenmarshal Otwin Meildheart while he remained at Oakhearthet to hold off any attack that came to him.

Counter Attack of Tree Hill[]

We worked for peace. We did everything we could to stop this moment from happening. We have been given no choice now. Time to show them why they should have chosen peace.
Marius Scott

The news of the attack by the Swabians very quickly made its way back to Tree Hill through scouts, and boats and this information reached Leiblinshire, and Klausburg before Tree Hill. House Leiblin under Ealdorman Adelbrand Leiblin would react immediately and Adelbrand sent his sons Manfred Leiblin, and Godfrey Leiblin to rally the Leiblin vassals while Adelbrand and his daughter Ludwina Leiblin would lead the main force of Leiblinshire towards Deltevh Hold. While this was happening it was House Klausburg which came under the push of Fabian Klauseburg. Having received the news that the Swabians were attacking it was Wolfrum Klauseburg that attempted to rally forces to send to assist in the resistance of the Swabians. While he and his brother Archibald Klauseburg were preparing this it was Fabian that arrived at Klausburg and joined by a force of Circle of Magi, and Nighting men they would meet with the Klauseburg leadership. Making it clear that any attempt by Wolfrum to intervene would result in the killing of their daughters and their own imprisonment back at Lucerne. Hearing this it was Wolfrum that relented and agreed to stay out of the conflict, and going further it was Fabian that had the bridges of Klausburg closed thus leaving naval reinforcements unable to quickly move to Brakeheart Hold.

Blocking Klausburg[]
I'm sorry milord. The bridges have been sabotaged by Swabians. It won't be operational for weeks at a minimum.
Otwin of Klauseburg

Marius’s boats arrive at the edge of Klausburg before the rest of the fleet, and as he and Alke look out at the city growing before them they are confused to see the bridges are down. As they get closer a boat pushes off from the Klausburg dock and moves towards them. Meeting with the boat captain they are told that the Klausburg bridges were sabotaged and cannot be raised as of now and will take weeks to repair. Landing their fleet on the north shore they unload the army from the boats, and not waiting for the main fleet to come to shore they begin after only a quick unloading and preparation to begin a fast march towards Brakehart Hold.

Marius's March on Brakeheart[]
Tree Hill - Rebellion of Low Swabia - Marius Marches
They took the money, and they took our girls. They didn't want anything else.
Trent Oldenheart

Arriving east of Brakeheart Hold they begin to encounter the first of the Swabians and while these are clearly a vanguard its Marius that pulls his forces in to a concentrated force and moves methodically down the road towards Brakeheart. Marius and his force are flagged down by villagers from the upcoming Brakeheartnet who warn them that Swabian forces have taken the village and are in the process of sacking the village. Marius sends scouts into the forest delaying the attack, but the scouts come back with no sighting of an ambush and so Marius moves his force into Brakeheartnet. Attacking the preoccupied Swabians causes them to end the sack and begin retreating from the village, but the cavalry force of Marius rides many of them down as they flee into the forest. While many escape most are either killed or captured among the attacking Swabians, and it takes several hours to bring all those captured back into the village as well as keep the surviving villager’s calm. The Frelherr of the village was killed during the sack which leaves his surviving heir Wigmar Moldenheart III. and his wife Roswitha to lead the villagers, and they agree to watch over the prisoners, but Marius forces him to promise him not to kill them. Among those captured during this attack is the Swabian Glodenmarshal Mombert Medven II. of whom they pack into one of the baggage trains alongside his wife Iris as they continue moving west. Travelling still west they don’t encounter anymore Swabians but do find the aftermath of killings on the road as the Swabians seem to have killed anyone they could find as they moved towards Brakheartnet. As they continue this slog westward its Marius that joins the interrogation of Mombert, but despite the skill of the torturer Conrad of Prennigist its Mombert that won’t tell them about the strategy or size of the attacking Swabian forces. Reaching Brakehearthet they find the village in ruins but as they enter, they are met by the surviving villagers who say that most of the villagers were rounded up and taken back in the direction of Low Swabia. Speaking with Frelherr Trent Oldenheart they learn that this attack against Brakehaerthet didn’t kill anyone in the village, but they did take anything of value and then as the villagers were under the belief, they would escape this attack it was the Swabians that demanded all the young, and breeding age women. This caused a fight where several villagers were killed but in the end the girls were taken, and the Swabians then demanded the villagers leave the village and they then occupied it. Trent had led them into the forest where they traveled to Brakehearthit and gathered the forces they now have to retake the village, but by the time they returned the Swabians had left. Marius learns from Trent that the Swabians main attack is aimed not at Brakeheart Hold but Oakheart, and learning this its Marius that leaves a handful of men under the command of Dietrich Nessler to assist the villagers in preparing to join the next wave in moving towards Brakheart. With this done its Marius that changes his direction and begins traveling northwest towards Oakheart. Arriving at the village of Oakhearthet they find the village is still under siege as due to its size and wealth it has a curtain wall around the inner area of the village. Marius and his force break the siege relieving the forces within and then meets with Frelherr Diethard Weideman they prepare their next move.

Relief of Castle Oakheart[]

The chapter ends with Marius having taken control of the Tower of Goldfarb and rising himself to the top of the tower he helps Cuthwin, and several men at arms as they pull down the flag of the Swabians and then as the men put up the Oakheart flag he uses his telescope to look towards the gate into Upper Oakheart and sees Lucas Oakheart meeting with a Swabian and hopes that Lucas sees whats happened before he surrenders.

Second Battle of Brakeheart Hold[]

Odothus Schmild and the second Tree Hill division would arrive at the outskirts of Brakeheart Hold where they found that the roads were already clogged up with refugees fleeing from the area. Odothus Schmild would rally these retreating refugees and spending several days recruiting from the area he gathered hundreds to his force. While this was happening it was Odothus that had placed the hold under a heavily scouted siege as he feared that he could be ambushed from other Swabian forces. This approach delayed the outcome of the siege but also put him in a safer position as at this point they still believed the Swabians were going to be victorious at Oakheart and thus the whole area might collapse.

Sack of Dolavik[]

Adelhard would sack the Swabian town of Dolavik, and while he would eventually be called off by the leadership from House Scott the damage was done as the town's walls and most of its buildings had been damaged in some way by the sack of Adelhard on the town.

Battle of Kaldbakr[]

Theoderic would continue to to lead his cavalry force as the Swabians retreated to around Kaldbakr and he formed a major part of their strategy as he was planned to charge during the battle and cause panic. Theoderic would be defeated by the cavalry forces of the Stormlands during the Battle of Kaldbakr despite vastly outnumbering the Stormlands cavalry and thus failed to hit the Stormlands forces in the flank and instead after his defeat he retreated his forces northward away from the battle.

The Duel at Kaldbakr[]
Fromaldus Maldven III
This war comes to an end right now. One way or another it ends here Save the lives of thousands of both our peoples. Make the circle and accept my challenge.
Leodarius Heldven

Leodarius would attempt to win the Battle of Kaldbakr in a duel as his forces were being surrounded and facing eventual defeat but despite his confidence he was killed during this duel by Marius Scott who then also killed Fromaldus Maldven III. who attempted to intervene in the duel. Watching this duel was Theoderic Weitlest who was the lover of Fromoldus and watching this event led to him becoming even more hateful towards Marius and led to him fleeing the battle with his most loyal men and escaping out of Low Swabia. Isabel Breban would survive the defeat of the Society of the Lost Fox in the Battle of Kaldbakr and escaping into the forests of Low Swabia she joined with a force led by Swabian nationalists and continued to push them down a road of war despite the overall Swabian movement having been defeated at the Battleof Kaldbakr.

The Kidnapping of Taylor James would first come to planning following the signing of the Nighthold Agreement where Daniel Scott was given assurances by the Circle of Magi that he would be named the new Arch Lord of the Stormlands if he joined them in what he believed was an ambush on an army led by Peter Scott. Taylor would be lied to by Nathan and this lie led to her attempting to meet him at a grove east of Tree Hill, but when she arrived at the grove she was set on by her eventual kidnappers who grabbed her and brought her deeper into the grove where she had her confrontation with Nathan Scott. Following her confrontation with Nathan she was taken by the kidnappers eastward in the direction of Nighthold where she would begin her enslavement by the Nighting Crime Syndicate.

Fall of Tree Hill
We were trained to fight. We built walls, and we made plans for our defenses. All of this training and planning was for naught when we were ambushed by an enemy that knew everything we were.
Earl Scott leaving Tree Hill

The Summit of Castle Blastner had led to much of the Tree Hill army, and nearly all the loyalist leadership leaving for Castle Blastner, and those that remained would be shown as less then loyal.

Everything that has happened here is a result of his actions. He doesn't get to just stand by his bible and pretend hes not responsible for all of this. Peter Scott is a monster. Peter Scott shall from this day forth be known as the Traitor of Tree Hill.
Daniel Scott

While the smaller Loudlon had failed at the Battle of Forks, and the Loudlon leadership being almost completely massacred at the The Hackenholtist Massacre the success of the Tree Hill part of the plan rested on the shoulders of Abdosir Zestoponnid. The larger Loudlon army continued moving towards Tree Hill controlled now solely by Abdosir Zestoponnid, and thus the army’s movement was slow as Abdosir was unable to fully stop the infighting that begin to grow among the Orc army with the deaths of the more powerful Exemptus members. As they moved through the plains of Central Tree Hill, they first lost control of the Ragechoppa Clan who moved away from the main army and begin sacking villages. As they made the final movement towards Tree Hill it was an exhausted Adbdosir that lost control of three clans in the , Bonecrusha, and Eadsplitta Clans and this forced the army to briefly stop and the Circle of Magi members still within the army made quick adjustments. Deciding that these clans getting loose was not a part of their orders by James Lovie II. they would send word to the army of Peter Scott which they knew was already moving from Forks to Tree Hill following the First Battle of Forks. Abdosir would continue to move the rest of the army the final stretch to Tree Hill which they reached successfully, and massing north of Tree Hill it was Abdosir that gave his control over to Jurden Hardaxe who now unleashed would prepare the invasion of Tree Hill. With the assistance of maps and information provided by the Circle members the Orc army moved to surround the city and attack the different hills as well as the two main Tree Hill gates with a force that would make retreat impossible.

The insanity that leads a man to turn on his people. The madness filled him to the brim until the point came that he snapped. There was no stopping it. It was all blood and death.
Earl Scott

When Peter Scott was pulled away from Tree Hill with most of the army due to the Summit of Castle Blastner the vacuum of power fell to the hands of Leonard Nighting III. of whom was named the Grand Marshal of Tree Hill and thus placed in charge of its defenses. Leonard was not what Peter believed him to be in a loyal member of the rebellion but in fact was a secret member of the Circle of Magi, and thus knew that the Orcs were incoming and that the Summit of Castle Blastner was a ruse. Leonard would work for the weeks before the Orcs arrival to move troops loyal to the Circle or the Nightings out of the city, and those that remained were given time off with pay leaving the city undefended. While removing loyal troops it was Leonard that also invited many nobles who were rebel supporters to the city of which included many prominent families and planned a large feast for what he knew would be after the arrival of the Orcs. Leonard would be warned of the Orcs approach and thus when they were only two days away it was Leonard and most of his loyalists that left Tree Hill travelling westward towards Nighthold and named Daniel Scott as the new Grand Marshal of Tree Hill. Daniel had been tricked into believing that the Orcs coming was a plot to kill Peter and that following this ambush he would defeat the Orcs with the large army that Leonard and the Circle had waiting outside the city. In truth Tree Hill had been promised to House Guntbold and thus his purpose was gone for the Circle leaving him to remain in Tree Hill under a mistaken belief.

The Baker Killings[]

Lindsay Baker Wide

Lindsay Baker saw her fathers attempt at separating herself and her beloved brother Julian Baker as a betrayal so deep that she was unwilling to accept his apology. And thus from the date of her argument with Brooke forward she planned for the eventual murder of her father. Eventually as her resentment increased she also grew to hate her mother of whom in her paranoia she came to believe was also involved in the plot against her and Julian.

He is mine. It was clear after there failed attempt to marry him to you that they were going to keep trying. I had no options other then to kill them
Lindsay Baker

House Baker had through the Magi power and general lack of morality of Hanne Baker joined the Circle of Magi leaving them very much aware of the coming Orcish assault on the city of Tree Hill. Hanne Baker would return from her time in the west where she had been assisting Bill Lovie with his Orcish manipulation and fresh from her time there she would summon her entire family including her husband Haden Baker, son Julian Baker, and two daughters Lindsay Baker, and Margerette Baker and proceeded to tell them about what was about to happen in Tree Hill. The family sat with the increasingly cowardly Haden Baker immediately begin preparing to leave the city without warning anyone of what was coming and return to their seat at Bakervale. Following the departure of Julian two organize their retreat, two things happened with the first being Margerette attempted to run away from her family confronting her sister Lindsay, while Lindsay finally realized she had the moment she had been waiting for to finally kill her mother and father. When Margerette took Lindsay into the other room while her parents loaded up the carriage outside with their two dozen men at arms and servants, she would tell Lindsay that she was going to reveal what was happening to Lord Typhon of whom she knew was an honorable man.

I loved my sister. She was a sweet girl. I stabbed her in the neck the moment she got in the way of me and Julian. What do you think I would do to you?
Lindsay Baker

In this moment Lindsay not wanting her chance of killing her parents to be thwarted would stab her sister through the neck killing Margerette and dragging her body into a closet. Returning to the living room she would hide her mother’s wand before tricking her mother into joining her in the bedroom where she would hit her mother with a mace knocking her out. With her mother unconscious she would bring her father and two servants in where she locked the door behind them to their confusion before she would stab the two servants before knocking out her father. With everyone either dead or unconscious she would tie her father and mother to a chair before she would walk out of the house. Appearing before the men at arms, knights, and servants covered in blood and a blood mace she told them that Julian was now in charge of the family, and shocked at what she had done they were cowed into submission. Leading these servants and soldiers out of the eastern gate it was Lindsay, and Julian that escaped the coming destruction of Tree Hill. When Hanna, and Haden woke up they attempted to get out of their bindings, but Haden was too weak, and Hanna without her wand could do little, and thus they were unable to escape and were eventually killed during the sacking of Tree Hill by the Orcs.

The Massacre of the Hill of Edrestic[]

I was walking around the edges of the garden when I heard the noise. It was a sound I had never heard before in my life but it was deafening in its scope, and horrifying in its pitch. It was the sound of a city dying I just didn't know it at the time.
Margaery Tyrell

The Orcs would split themselves up as they moved towards Tree Hill with Clan Rabbidgutta and Clan Gorebasha attacking the Hill of Edrestic, while the remainder of the army went for the main city. House Slinde defended the Hill of Edestic and was a devoted member of the rebels meaning they were not warned or protected in any way by the Circle. House Slinde had lost most of its defenders to the Summit of Castle Blastner and thus was very undermanned when the Orcs arrived, and with all this together the Orcs moved through the damaged gatehouse and inside the walls. Once inside the walls what little defenders were able to fight back were quickly overrun and the Hill of Edrestic fell in less then hour its entire population killed or enslaved.

The Sack of Tree Hill[]

Tree Hill - Battle of Tree Hill - Start

The Orcs had arrived without warning and would overrun the Hill of Edestic and break inside the northern gate without any warning to the defenders.

I was walking around the edges of the garden when I heard the noise. It was a sound I had never heard before in my life but it was deafening in its scope, and horrifying in its pitch. It was the sound of a city dying I just didn't know it at the time.
Margaery Tyrell

With the destruction of the Hill of Edestic the main Loudlon army reached the main Tree Hill Gate. The northern entrance was the most fortified of the two entries into the city and thus was guarded by five towers, a large bridge, and three layers of portcullises leaving it a highly defensible position. In response to these defenses, it was the Circle that had placed much of its energy around the weakening of this defense. While the towers were meant to have been occupied by fifty men each the deployment schedules had been purposely weakened by Ebrimund Neuhazer who had been promoted to the Commander of the Gate by Leonard Nighting. Ebrimund would be warned of the arrival of the Orcs hours before and took what little men were left at the gatehouse and left the gate telling the defenders that another deployment was being brought to replace them and gave them the rest of the day off. With the gatehouse now undefended it was the Orc army that was able to enter the gate without being noticed or deterred. As the Orcs poured through the gatehouse the screaming of the slain and panicked that led to soldiers being warned of the attack. Of these soldiers it was Traven Goodsbrow, and the Oakheart twins Frasier, and Thomas Oakheart were in the vicinity and would also move in the direction of the fighting at the gate. Traven and the Oakheart twins would be overwhelmed alongside the rest of the guards at the gatehouse and the Orcs swelled into the city from the main gate shattering the cork that held the Orcs at bay. Once they had control of the gate the Orcs quickly destroyed any resistance that managed to form in the outer city, while they began destroying and setting buildings ablaze. The rampaging force of Orcs massacred their way through the packed market, which was located near the main gatehouse, and since Tree Hill was so far inside the borders of Lucerne no one was on their toes in preparation for an attack of this kind leaving the people and soldiers completely overwhelmed. The massacre continued unabated until southward of the main gatehouse the Orcs would come to the castle of the Typhon's in the form of Typhon's Keep.

Tree Hill - Battle of Typhon Keep
Typhon's Gate was the personal keep of House Typhon, and the fact that they held to the last man bought time for the rest of the city to at least get a chance to survive at the main keep.
Lucas Scott

The city of Tree Hill was a double walled city with the outer wall defended by five main gatehouses, while the inner was defended by two keeps. With two of the outer gatehouses either taken or about to be taken it was the next level of defenses that was coming under assault by the Orc invasion. It was House Typhon that controlled one of the entries in the form of Typhon Keep. A vassal of House Scott they would be within their estate as the city burned and the northern half was completely wiped out. As another of the rebel supporting houses they were not warned and most of their forces including House Typhon would hold off till the very last minute trying to allow more people to flee inside the keep including Lord Robett Highport and three of his men at arms. Robett had been devoted to Daniel Scott but as Daniel had been betrayed it was Robett that was also betrayed thus leaving him outside the keep when the Orcs arrived. As the Orcs overran the initial areas of Tree Hill the panic had spread quickly and thus it was Lord Athaulf Typhon that had armed and prepared his sons as well as what men at arms he could find. As the Orcs begin to reach the gatehouse the Typhon defenders did not close it immediately allowing dozens more inside the walls until finally as they risked being overwhelmed, they closed the gate of the Typhon Keep. Blocking their gates, the Orcs arrived on the scene the males took to the walls and fired upon the Orcs drawing major attention to themselves and slowing the advance as the Orcs attempted to take the Keep. As the Orcs used overturned wagons and boxes to attempt to get on the walls it was the defenders who would resist them for several minutes giving Athaulf time to get the non-fighters out of the back of the keep. Athaulf Typhon would manage to get those who had gone through Typhon’s gates through the gate and into the inner part of Tree Hill, but the family would refuse to abandon there ancestral seat and thus hid themselves inside the holdfast of the keep instead of fleeing south.

My family died there. They thought they were doing something brave. I see now you made sure it was all in vain.
Jaime Typhon

The front gate was finally bashed down as the defenders on the wall begin to run out of arrows, but the defenders had created enough time that they had been able to place a barricade behind this forcing most of the Orcs to use makeshift ladders, and ropes to climb onto the walls. Getting onto the walls the Orcs would take horrible casualties, but their number were unending, and they were able to wipe out the defenders including Lord Typhon and two of his sons, and would thus gain entrance into the courtyard within. Lord Robett Highport led a brief counter assault at the main gatehouse attempting to bar the entrance but was killed alongside his men after the walls had been completely overrun. The final son of House Typhon would defend the inner hold alone trying to protect his mother, cousins, and sisters but watched as the Orcs killed the remaining guards and the rest of House Typhon were massacred in the inner hallway. Jaime Typhon would survive the destruction of Typhon Keep after he was covered by the body of his slain brother and knocked unconscious. Waking up hours after the massacre of his family he would attempt with failed results to find anyone else alive and realizing he was alone he would hide himself in the Typhon cellar where he would attempt to plan his escape. With the massacre the Orcs would move forward towards the Tree Hill Keep of which was only real place that any sort of defense could be mounted.

Last stand at the Keep of Tree Hill[]

Lucas and Peyton3
You didn't have to be told by anyone that it was bad. There was a look in people's eyes that just told you things were falling apart. No words were needed...
Lucas Scott

Lucas Scott was in the Keep of Tree Hill when the first Orcs begin piling into the city itself, and like everyone in the keep it was the smoke coming from the entrance that first alerted them to trouble. As the Orcs overran the city it was the keep that begin to organize its defenses, and looking to Daniel, they discovered him inside his personal chambers surrounded by many of his nobles. Attempting to get Daniel to lead them it was Daniel that refused instead placing Lucas, and Nathan in command of the defences of the city slamming the door behind them. Lucas and Nathan would mobilize every male in the keep to find weapons and armor from the armory and bring themselves to the courtyard where Hochmeister Theoderic Madritch, and Ordenmarshal Odothus Schmild would move them to the different defensive positions. While this was happening, it was Lucas that went looking for Peyton, Haley, and Brooke who he knew were at the Gardens outside the keep. Going to the armory he put on his armor alongside his friends Visimar Heffelinger, and Cunimund Brodgert and begin leaving the keep heading towards the gardens.  Speaking with Theoderic that he was going to the garden to find his sister and friends Theoderic lent him three men at arms to help bring back as many people as possible and then his group ran for the bridge of Saint Reginald which was clearest move to the Gardens. Reaching the bridge there were people streaming across and as he moved in the other direction, he saw Peyton screaming his name. Peyton had been able to return to the keep before the massacre and now she was crying so much that Lucas had to hold her up, and he would learn from Peyton that Haley, and Brooke had gone to the apartment of their friend Ottilia Goedde. Rushing to the apartment it was just outside the keep and they discovered the area was already the sight of some conflict as they saw there first Orcs. Brooke, Haley, and Ottilia led her younger siblings from the apartment and into the arms of Lucas and the others but this reunion was cut short by the arrival of the Orcs. These first Orcs were rampaging through the street and Lucas, Visimar, and Cunimund fought them without much thought killing the first two, but the third killed Cunimund before they were able to slay the Orc, and seeing more coming they were forced to leave his body on the street and lead the group back to the bridge of Saint Reginald.

Success at Schild Keep[]
Holding the Bridges[]
We will hold open the bridge of Saint Reginald as long as we can. Once its going to be overrun I will shut the gate. The problem is Naelys bridge. Someone or something damaged the mechanism. The Kellermaster Devon is working to fix it. You have to buy him time.
Theoderic Madritch

Massacring the population of the city the Orcs swarmed towards the next and last point of resistance in the form of the three main defenses of the Keep of Tree Hill in the two bridges and the twin gates. As Lucas and Visimar reached the Bridge of Saint Reginald with there group there was little time to say goodbye as Brooke, Haley and the others were rushed deeper into the Keep while Lucas met with Theoderic to discuss the situation. By this point the defenses of the Keep had been stiffened by the hundreds of incoming survivors who were being quickly equipped and placed into defensive positions. Alongside this the successful defense of the Schild Keep the twin gates were now heavily fortified thus leaving the two bridges as the main point of weakness for the defenders. The defenders were weakened by the fact that the drawbridge for the Bridge of Saint Reginald remained in working order but the Bridge of Naelys Targaryan had been sabotaged leaving it unable to be closed. Lucas, Visimar, and two dozen men at arms would rush to the Bridge of Naelys finding the Kellermaster Devon Davion leading the defense there but was struggling to fix the bridge mechanism and needed more time. The arrival of Hank James II. telling them of his fathers retreat led to Lucas seeing the oppurtunity to both buy time for the defenders as well as help Hank James. Now looking to buy this time for the defenders it was Lucas that led the two dozen men alongside Vismar, and several knights including Perwyn Guntbold, and Kurt Isidor, and Isidor Elric, Deert Dravion, Hank James II., and Hansal Oakheart. This group would be joined at the last minute by Deert Davion the son of Devon, and another nine men at arms and traveled across the bridge where they planned to meet with Hank James and hold the entry to the bridge for enough time to have Devon and his men repair the gate mechanism.

I was moving with such purpose. I knew in that moment that I had to be the courage for everyone around me. It didn't matter that I was in complete terror. I couldn't show that to anyone.
Lucas Scott

By this point the other houses of the southwest Keep were finding themselves becoming under attack as the Orcs were spreading throughout the city, and although the Orcs were finding increasing resistance as they moved closer towards the Keep of Tree Hill they were still moving in a near unstopped pace. At the Apartment of House James, it was Hank James that was with his sons Hanzal James, and Hank James II. when Mary James arrived in a panic telling them that Orcs had killed Gloria at the market and were not far behind her. Mary was taken away by Hank the younger to the Tree Hill keep escaping in safety, but Hanzal and Hank the elder gathered their men at arms from the area and organized several retreating men and fought a slow retreat to the Tree Hill Keep killing several charging Orcs as they pulled back. While doing this it was Hanzal that was struck down and killed fighting leaving a distraught Hank to continue retreating tears covering his face as he left his heir dead in the street. Hank James would be rejoined by Hank the younger who had returned after safely getting Mary inside the keep and standing at the side of the Chapel of Saint Markus the group decided this was the place to make their last stand. While Hank James was preparing this, they were joined by the force of Lucas Scott who was attempting to buy the bridge more time and the Chapel of Saint Markus enjoyed good vantage points for his archers and blocked the main roadway to the bridge making it a good spot to hold.

Last Stand at the Chapel of Saint Markus[]
Lucas Scott
Was jumping onto that bridge a smart move? Hard to argue it was. What other choice did I have though? Did I hide on the wall and watch as thousands died? Did I try to swim across the lake into safety? None of that would have let me live with myself. I did what I had to. I would do it again if given the option.
Lucas Scott

The force now at the Chapel of Saint Markus consisted of the 27 men at arms of Lucas Scott as well as the knights Perwyn Guntbold, Kurt Isidor, Isidor Elric, Deert Dravion, and Hansal Oakheart who joined the force of nine men at arms of House James and the knight Hank James. Also included in this defense would be another five men at arms who joined them during the retreat from several different houses. Placing men in the chapel spires to fire arrows at the Orcs once they came it was the rest of them that formed a defensive line across the road allowing the streaming refugees past them. The group held for a time as Lucas shouted for people to hurry up and get inside, but after fifteen minutes they started to see the first trickle of Orcs moving forward and it was in this moment that he held the road for a time stopping Orcs with carefully aimed bow shots. Perwyn Guntbold, and Hansal Oakheart were also firing arrows near him, while Deert, and Hank were directing people towards the bridge and making them hurry. He and the rest of the party were slowly pushed back by their numbers as he did not want to be cornered in the street, so he pushed himself to the first tier of the chapel steps and thus allowed the people to continue getting inside the Keep. While they were fighting this initial attack, they had lost seven of the other men at arms to the Orcs, and Deert took a horrifying blow to his arm of which when Lucas moved to him, they were both very aware that the wound might be fatal, but he refused to retreat and they covered it as best they could. His desperate fight continued as the Orcs begin swarming at him in increasing numbers, and as things became more desperate it was the arrival of an Orc ten feet tall that finally broke the defenses of the chapel.

Defeating Lugdush[]
Lugdush - Action
His skin was bright red, and he was so large that he obscured everything around him. He pushed two of his own men off the bridge in his desperation to get at us, and I raised my shield knowing this was not going to be an easy fight.
Lucas Scott

As the defenders were slowly retreating the Orcs stopped their attacks and made several steps back smashing there axes together. As the defenders watched this it was Lucas’s group that reached the edge of the bridge having been pushed all the way back to the bridge. As the orcs continued there chanting it was a giant that knocked several away allowing him through. The giant orc was Lugdush Grimbones the clan leader of the Grimbones Clan. His skin was a dull orange, and his size was such that he obscured everything around him. In terms of the Orc hierarchy, he was one of the largest orcs in the Loudlon army and was a trusted Grand Chief of Jurden Hardaxe the overall High Chief. Without warning Lugdush raised his giant axe and with that a group of white painted Orcs charge forward at the defenders who were now supported by archers on the walls of the bridge. While many of the Orcs were felled by the arrow fire many got through and reached the line of defenders. Fighting against this group Lucas showed himself the exceptional swordsmen cutting down two of the three Orcs that reached him while the third was killed by Perwyn. Lugdush let out a giant laugh, and the other orcs (hundreds strong now) returned to smashing their axes against each other. Finishing laughing Lugdush begin walking towards the defenders and as he moved forward arrows struck him, but he continued walking forward ignoring them like they were nothing. Moving through the arrows Lugdush reached the defenders in front of the bridge and smashing his sword down he sent Lucas, and Perwyn flying to the ground and knocking Perwyn unconscious against the ground. Lucas called out for the other men to retreat, but they refused to leave him, and his party stood side by side with him as Lugdush attacked again. Deert would be the first to fall as Lugdush ignored a slash across his chest from Lucas and cleaved Deert Davion in two and followed by this Lucas ducked underneath another slash from Lugdush and slid over the side of the bridge and into the moat but just managed to grab ahold of the side. While Lucas fought to pull himself up Hansal was slashed across the face by Lugdush and killed, while Lugdush struck down the three remaining men at arms one after another leaving just Kurt Isidor, and Isidor Elric standing between Lugdush and the bridge as Lucas finally pulled himself up.

The thing stood as high as a building it seemed. It was a monster of the demons themselves, and it made you understand clearly what was happening. Watching Deet, and Hansal, and James and then all those poor men I just hated the thing. I let that hate overcome me, and I'm glad it did.
Lucas Scott

Dodging blow after blow Kurt Isidor was joined by Oliver Slinde of whom ran across the bridge attempting to support the defense. The bridge mechanism was fixed at this point, and they were preparing to close it but were waiting for Lucas, and his men to get inside. Kurt, Oliver, and Lucas attacked Lugdush together, and Kurt was able to slash him across the leg dropping him to his knees. As Kirt went for a killing blow it was Lugdush that grabbed him by the beck as he had gotten too close and broke his neck before throwing him into the moat. As Lugdush got up he pushed Lucas to the ground and then as Oliver stabbed him through the back his sword became stuck inside the Orc. Lugdush now gravely wounded turned around and grabbed Oliver throwing him down the bridge. As Lugdush cornered Oliver against the side of the bridge and prepared to kill him Lucas jumped on his back and was able to stab him through the less armored back part of his neck killing the massive Orc. Now exhausted from that fight Lucas attempted to crawl across the bridge but was struck by an arrow from the Orcs that were now charging at him. Standing up with what little strength he had left he took another arrow and realizing that the time it would take him to cross the bridge would allow the Orcs to enter the keep, and thus decided to save his family and threw himself into the moat. Oliver was able to get inside the gate but those on the wall had watched Lucas plunge into the moat and as he had full plate armor on, he would have drowned, and thus they closed the bridge just as the Orcs reached it.

Morrigan Enters the City[]

Morrigan finds Lucas

Nathan would be the one that brought Lucas's survival to everyone's attention but Morrigan was the one that healed him of his fatal wounds and found him first.

"The Orcs flooded the city, and I made my way into the tunnels where I used Magi to literately burrow a hole through the tunnels and into the inner sanctum of Tree Hill. Entering in such a way had its dangers but at that point no one feared other humans very much."
Morrigan

As the Orcish army swarmed into Tree Hill Morrigan would leave her Circle post at the Hill of Edestic and make her way to a local farm where she had ordered her men for months to burrow a tunnel beneath Tree Hill that would connect into the Keep of Tree Hill. Morrigan for her part had played the role of a loyal member of the Circle but her affection for Lucas Scott led her to turn against them and making the decision to save Lucas despite the personal cost to herself she would use the tunnel to enter the Keep of Tree Hill. Moving her way through the tunnels she would eventually arrive at the entrance which was inside her home in the keep where she was living under the guise of Lady Morrigan Sylne of House Slyne. Leaving her house she heard the screams and could smell all the death around her but she was looking for Lucas Scott and using her Magi she passed through the wall and into the Saint Markus Pond. Finding Lucas he had managed to take off his chest armor thus saving him from drowning, but the two arrows in him were going to be fatal injuries. Holding his head up she would use her Magi to heal him, and as he was healed and she removed the arrows leaving him unconscious but no longer fatally wounded.

I woke up in a ditch on the outskirts of the wall. My survival rested upon the simple fact that the Orcs had killed everyone and thus they didn't believe it was possible for anyone to be alive outside of the wall. A more determined force might have checked my body, but I lay there awake in the water for nearly two hours before I finally was alone enough to make a dash for the keep.
Lucas Scott
Back in the City[]
Peyton Sawyer Small3

Lucas's return was a great moment for Peyton.

In truth I'm not the hero everyone makes me out as. I didn't think I'd ever make it back from that. I thought my body would lie broken on the bridge or in the moat. I thought that my death would somehow save the city, but when I survived I realized I had accomplished nothing. I was supposed to have saved their lives, but all I ended up doing was leaving them in a state of terror for eight years. And the entire time I returned I felt an overwhelming feeling of loss. Was this the life I wanted to be remembered for saving? Was this chaos and darkness worth living amongst? What was the point of being alive if your entire world was dead.
Lucas Scott

The moment Lucas was pulled back into the keep was the moment that most point to as the moment that the Battle ended for the city itself, and following this the situation was one of a siege except for the incoming relief force. Nathan called out for men to come help him carry Lucas inside, and they carried him into the locked tower overlooking the city, and then called for a doctor. Miraculously Lucas was unhurt, and only had cuts, and bruises to show for the act that saved the city from immediate death. It was in this moment that the first stems of jealously begin from Lucas's brother Nathan. While Nathan had led the defenders in their retreat back to the keep and had maintained order during the battle, all of this was forgotten as the people lot their minds over the return of a living god to them in Lucas Scott.

Nathan Scott Small1

Nathan and Lucas were never close but that lack of relationship quickly spiraled into hatred.

He wasn't supposed to survive out there. I heard him say it with my own ears. He was supposed to die and then I would be the heir of House Scott. His return brought back nothing but ruin.
Nathan Scott

Nathan Scott would storm out of the room as in his eyes everyone was ignoring him, and as he did he silently walked over to the wall and watched the people stem from the keep, and make their way to see Lucas Scott. As he watched this he saw for the first time that day Haley, and she was running around with a desperate look in her eyes. When he saw this he thought for a moment that she was coming for him and he felt hope, but as he walked towards her, she saw him and for the briefest moment she looked as if she would go to him, but instead she kept moving and pushed her way through the crowds and into the tower where Lucas was.

The Siege of Tree Hill[]

The Siege of Tree Hill
At a certain point you just give up. You just have nothing left to give. Staying within those walls watching these monsters attack us every day. I don't know how a person can just see that and move forward. The life within my heart was all but gone by the time you reached us.
Haley Scott10
My grandfather did not deserve the fate he got. He deserved so much better then that.
Brooke Scott

Following the destruction of the army of Earl Scott the main army of Lucerne that was within eye sight of those nobles looking from the top tower of the Scott Keep would retreat out of the area. This retreat was due to the fact that Bill had ordered them to pull back and return to their homes, but the people of Tree Hill saw it as a sign that they were doomed. Far beyond this as well was the fact that the Titan Odin had come to Morrigan the "Daughter of Flemeth" and removed a significant piece of her corruption and making her believe that Flemeth wished for her to delay the destruction of the city she would begin to take orders from what she believed was Flemeth but was in fact Roswita a member of the Valkyrie of the Thunderlands of Valhalla. Pretending to be a member of Mordor she would bribe him into holding off, and this played to his larger plan of weakening his rivals whenever they rose, and thus the siege would be something that was going to technically go on forever. While Morrigan infiltrated the Orcish leadership it was the death of Caryl Todrinnel of whom had been killed during her escape with Quinn James, but her body was discovered by Morrigan, and Roswita and they would remove her body with Roswita using Magi to take on the appearance of Caryl and infiltrating the ranks of the Tree Hill leadership. The Orcs would under the manipulation of Morrigan settle down for a siege, and stopped their attack against the walls of the city despite the fact that the defenders were beyond exhausted, and wouldn't be able to hold if an attack came. Jurden decided early on after this manipulation that he was going to make this psychological in that he wanted to weaken his opponents in his own army so that when they moved on to Forks he would be completely dominant, and at the same time he truly enjoyed the pain he was going to cause on the humans of Tree Hill. Food was sparse, the Orcs basically sat outside their walls, and the population of the keep was in a near breakdown point. As panic began to set in for the town, Lucas stood up and gave a speech that many point to as the moment the siege truly began.

You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate or bad luck or bad choices. Or you can fight back. Things aren't always going to be fair in the real world. That's just the way it is. But for the most part, you get what you give. The rest of your life is being shaped right now. With the dreams you chase. The choices you make. and the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time. And the rest of your life starts right now.
Lucas Scott
This speech is arguably the moment that the people found something to believe in as they searched for some silver lining, or some distant hope that in the moment they watched the Lucernian fires leave the area didn't seem possible. For the first months of the siege the Orcs attempted systemic warfare in which they kept the Tree Hill citizens up all night using loud noises and such. Following this having little affect the forces of Tree Hill would begin to fear for their food supplies as they dwindled, and while plans were drawn up to begin farming in the open areas of the town, this would become their main source of food outside of the large but not inexhaustible supplies in the keep. With this real threat at hand it was at this point that Morrigan would silently begin to have her soldiers bring large amounts of food into the city, and she would use her Magi to transport it from her house to the stores of the keep. This became quite the folk tale in Tree Hill as the people came to believe they were being blessed by Glaurrung as food was simply appearing. Lucas would become curious enough that he hid himself in the storeroom and waited all night until something happened when Morrigan entered the storeroom seemingly through a wall. Watching her from his hiding place she would summon the food from her home inside the storeroom, and it was only when she was completed her ritual that she saw that she was being watched.
Morrigan Cute

Morrigan's bringing of food into the city was the first sign to herself that something had changed in her, as she felt no resistance from Flemeth and was beginning to make decisions for herself.

Lucas would confront Morrigan of whom he demanded how she had entered the food stuffs of the city and why she was giving them food, and when she was truthful telling him that she was a member of a special group and had been commanded to save the city he would demand the truth not believing her. As they spoke he begin to remember bits of memories from the initial Orc assault on the city and sensing his regaining memory she would use her Magi to take him back to the events of the initial assault on Tree Hill. With his memories restored including the fact that he had been mortally wounded and saved by Morrigan he would agree to keep her a secret but demanded that the two speak at least once every few days and that she told him everything she was planning and having longed to be closer to Lucas for months it was Morrigan that readily agreed to this.

Duels of Tree Hill[]

Main Article : Duels of Tree Hill

Lucas Scott Duels
17 orcs fell to my blade in 3 years worth of duels. They came in pairs and each time they fell behind what I could feel on me was the support of a god. I hadn't believed in Glaurung until that moment.
Lucas Scott

With the food situation fixed due to what the people believed was miracles brought on by Glaurung himself the people believed the Orcs realized the starvation wasn't working and begin to probe the walls with attacks which were easily repulsed due to the small amount of troops that were sent. The Orcs though were only using these as probes and discovered that there were far less defenders then they feared, and it was the Orcs that prepared to launch a massive assault on the walls and end Tree Hill conventionally. With the next stage of the siege about to begin it was Morrigan that intervened when she went to Jurden Hardaxe and was able to convince the paranoid Orc that one of his generals in the form of Drundac was planning a massive coup and the paranoia caused Jurden to command that drundac who was in fact not planning anything to instigate a duel with swordsmen in the city. Realizing that it would be Lucas that would take on the fight Morrigan would enchant his sword and armor and the day following this it was drundac who would approach the walls carrying the bodies of unnamed murdered soldiers of Tree Hill, and stood at the gates, while the Orcs begin playing their drums. The drums of the Orcs pulling Lucas from working the garden with Haley and moving towards the main gatehouse he sees a very large Orcs standing on other edge of the bridge and as the Orcs bashes his shield and screams several smaller goblins step forward announcing a challenge to fight them and in return they will give the defenders a two week reprieve from noise and attacks. With this in mind Lucas volunteers to fight the Orc and despite the attempts by Haley and Brooke to dissuade him he dons his armor, the bridge is lowered and he goes to fight the Orc. Meeting Drundac he would fight and despite the Orcs massive size he was supported by Morrigan who silently watched from the walls giving him speed and strength and this alongside his natural skills he was able to kill Drundac. Nathan, and Thomin Sifflet brought men outside the walls and collected the dead bodies they could as the Orcish horde looked on shocked that Lucas had killed was amounted to one of the top commanders of the Orcish Horde.

Giving in to the Pain[]
Haley Scott8
It was more then just the stress of possibly failing. It was the fear in me. I didn't want to die as pathetic as that sounded. I didn't want to miss any of the people I loved.
Lucas Scott

As the duels increased in ferocity, and difficulty Lucas found himself growing more and more depressed, and he couldn't find a way out of this depression. As it got worse he and Haley grew even closer as Haley and Nathan had never really recovered from their pregnancy problems. On top of his declining mental health was the fact that his brother Nathan was becoming jealous and openly resentful of his brother's increased fame and the fact that no matter what he seemed to do it just couldn't give him the kind of respect that Lucas just got easily. The problems with Haley and Nathan meant that Haley begin to look at Lucas in a different light then the simple platonic way they had existed for years before. While Lucas had feelings for Haley for years before this Haley now accepted that what had drawn her to Lucas wasn't something platonic or a search for companionship but instead was a deep and resounding love. Even as they grew closer she watched as her love in Lucas was not quite enough to make him ignore the terrible things going on in his life, and this broke her heart. She and Brooke continued to try and help him but every time he got close to moving forward he was forced to engage in another duel. At the same time as Haley was getting closer to him Peyton was falling farther apart, as Peyton found herself on the outside watching all the other women in his life picking him up, and him being to disapointed in what he had become to even go near Peyton.

Nearing Death[]
Haley Scott9
I knew he was going to do something stupid. I just didn't think so would I.
Haley James

Lucas after his third duel with the Orcs went to the top of the keep of Tree Hill, and as he stood there he contemplated ending his life. He thought about everything he'd be giving up, and everyone that he would miss but the pain in his soul was just so loud that he didn't see a possibility of getting out of it. In this moment Haley who had been following Lucas as she was the only one who knew how truly emotionally damaged Lucas was becoming made her way on to the balcony with Lucas and simply stood beside Lucas. While this moment was happening Morrigan was standing beside them as she had made herself invisible and was watching the changing mood between the two with utter pain, as she too had fallen in love with the troubled prince of House Scott. The two stood in complete silence for many minutes until finally Haley reached her arm out and touched Lucas's arm, and as she moved her hand on his arm they both knew this wasn't a friendship style of comfort. In that moment he looked over at her, and the two seemed to finally accept what had changed between them, and they proceeded to have sex on the balcony of the keep tower.

It was the moment my heart had waited for years to come. Tragedies happen. What are you gonna do, give up? Quit? No. I realize now that when your heart breaks, you got to fight like hell to make sure your still alive. Because you are. And that pain you feel? That's life. The confusion and fear? That's there to remind you, that somewhere out there is something better, and that something is worth fighting for.
Lucas Scott

Following this moment of acceptance on the balcony the two attempted to stay simply friends for the sake of Nathan but after only a few days of attempting this they found themselves giving into lust again and again until it happened more then once a day every day. This obsessive lust didn't abate and in fact continued to define the two throughout the middle of the siege, and only changed when Haley discovered she was pregnant. The pregnancy of Haley Scott was a moment of great pain for Margaery Tyrell of whom had been secretly giving potions to Haley which she had been told would leave Haley unable to conceive, and since she run out with the city of Tree Hill besieged she would believe that the pregnancy was with Nathan of whom she loved with everything in her.

Brooke Scott16
As time went by you wondered whether he had any intention of killing us. Was this nothing more then a game to him, and if this was a game what was his end game?
Nathan Scott

With this strategy in mind Brooke and the rest of the survivors were treated to entire days of the Orcs simply standing throughout the city in painful arrogance of their numbers. They would do this and then scream throughout the entire night so that noone inside could sleep (as if they could anyway with the massive army just sitting inside the city. As the siege wore on it became a series of minor conflicts where Jurden would send his commanders that he wanted dead on near suicide missions against the keep, but even these suicide missions cost the defenders dearly as they ran out of basically all things they needed. During this time Brooke became knowledgeable in healing as many of the women were forced to take on male roles in order for the city to survive while the men fought. She discovered during this healing time that she had quite the skill for the act of healing, and with very little prompting she is now capable of many things that regular nurses cannot even do. Even healing could not make up for the emotional damage that was done, as the Orcs paraded broken bodies around the walls, and due to the increasingly desperate situation they couldn't fire many arrows as there was increasing worry they would run out.

Stagnation[]

I was so broken and alone during the siege that I just wandered the town at times. What little life was left was completely devoted to the belief that someone would come. You had to keep believing that someone was coming to save us otherwise what point was there to even resisting.

Lucas Scott would be spending time with Haley Scott of whom he is at first talking with on the battlements of the Tree Hill keep with who they believe is Caryl Todrinnel and they are talking about the recent appearance of food within the food storage of the caverns beneath the Tree Hill keep and while Caryl pushed the idea that this was the work of Glaurung it was Lucas that in his own mind would think to himself that this was impossible and made plans to sneak into the storage that night and observe what happened. Lucas Scott would hide himself in the storeroom and waited all night until something happened when Morrigan entered the storeroom seemingly through a wall as she had used Magi to get inside. While Morrigan was working against Flemeth in Tree Hill it was Gerlinde Jocic that would be sent to Lucerne in order to assist Morrigan in her manipulation of the Kingdom of Lucerne, but as Gerlinde hated Morrigan she would not make her presence known and watched Morrigan witnessing her helping the Tree Hill defenders, and wanting to ruin something of Morrigan's she would begin infiltrating the Orc army and begin building her own forces. Gerlinde quickly realized that the Orcish main leader in the form of Jurden Hardaxe was a puppet of Morrigan and was actively working against the destruction fo Tree Hill, and thus it was Gerlinde that went to Chigdrask a goblin leader of the Hill of Edrestic and turned him Chigdrask into her puppet. Using Magi Gerlinde was able to manipulate Chigdrask until he had become her servent and with Chigdrask under her control he would begin massing his forces at the Hill of Edrestic for an assault on Tree Hill which would destroy the city before Jurden hardaxe could step into stop him. As Gerlinde made the final preparations for the attack on Tree Hill by her forces she was discovered by Morrigan and the two fought a brief battle but Gerlinde was able to escape fleeing Tree Hill to west of the city staying with her personal forces there. As Lucas goes to his room to go to sleep he is exhausted but his exhaustion ends when he sees Morrigan sitting at a chair in his room and talking to her she tells him about a horrifying development that she has uncovered in the army of Orcs seiging the city and reveals that she has been controlling the Orc leader to keep Tree Hill alive. She reveals that she is being confronted by a sister of hers named Gerlinde Jocic and her sister has raised an army of Goblins and Orcs that she is using to bypass Morrigans Orc army and attack the city of Tree Hill. Morrigan says she tried to fight her but Gerlinde fled to a stronghold of the goblin Chigdrask north west of the city and she needs Lucas's help in defeat her sister at the camp of Chigdrask and despite his still skepticism towards Morrigan he agrees to gather men to him who will join him assisting Morrigan.

I'm asking you to come with me to a place where we face extreme risk. I'm asking you to do this because I believe our time is running short. My speech is nothing more then an illusion. We need to change things. We need to take a chance.
Lucas Scott
Lucas goes to the Scott Keep and meets with several of his friends in the form of Loras Tyrell, Oliver Slinde, Lucas Oakheart, and Jake James. As he takes the group to the food storemoom he is prepared to meet with Morrigan but instead they find Caryl Todrinnel and Morrigan and it is then they Caryl reveals that she in fact not Caryl but actual an angel of sorts named Roswita and that she will portal them inside the camp once Morrigan is able to get inside. Morrigan portals out of the room and as they wait for nearly an hour for her they talk with Roswita and learn that she found Carly dead outside of the city but wanted to help so she used Magi to take on her physical appearance and has been helping ever since in whatever way she can. In the hours before the forces of Gerlinde were to attack the city of Tree Hill it was Morrigan that infiltrated the camp of Chigdrask's Orcs and killing her way inside the keep she would find that Chigdrask had already left with most of the Orcs to attack Tree Hill but Gerlinde remained behind with only a small elite guard and her closest goblin commander Knenkimm to defend her in the hopes that she would be able to kill Morrigan.
Roswita Gif
After almost two hours Caryl's portal stone begins pulsing and she opens the portal and walks through and Lucas follows behind her and then the rest of the group and they find themselves inside the ruined keep of Oliver's family causing an enraged Oliver to let out a tear at what has become of his families home. Finding themselves there they follow Morrigan into fighting against Gerlinde and her goblin defenders and they are able to defeat the goblins killing them to a man and they watching as Gerlinde and Morrigan fight a horrifying battle joined by Roswita and after Morrigan takes a horrible wound to her shoulder its Roswita that delivers a glancing blow to Gerlinde knocking her down. As Gerlinde attempts to escape once again she would be stopped by Morrigan of whom was able to use Magi to lock her away into a Soulstone and thus keep her secret alive. A badly wounded Morrigan explains that the army of Chigdrask has already left for Tree Hill and remains behind with Roswita but portals Lucas and his forces out of the keep and back to Tree Hill where they rush to the keep and set of the warning alarm and then making their way to the walls where they find the archers there already firing on the rushing army.
The Assault[]
Roswita Cover Amazing
Today might seem hopeless Lucas. Today might feel like the end of the world. I promise you their will be better days. This pain will pass.
Roswita
As the years of siege went by a lull in the fighting had taken place as the Orcish commander was completely fine with draining his leadership rivals in duels with Lucas, while the defenders were worn out and emotionally destroyed. The Raid of 5123 came about when an especially large Orc took control of forces, and led them in a very large attack that unlike the overall Orc leader he was actually interested in destroying the city. The main attack came against the main gate, and they were hardpressed to hold them off as they ran across the bridge.
Loras Tyrell Gif
The only lull in the fighting came as the Orcs were forced to push their casualties into the moat where so high were their losses that they begin to fill the moat. At the eastern gate Loras Tyrell led the defences and the orcs here were in greater number then every before and they broke into the courtyard of the keep. Fighting became brutal and a last stand broke out at the gatehouse as the defenders were overrun and the Orcs broke inside the Keep. Loras Tyrell would lead some twenty men into the breach and kill most of the attackers during the charge, and bought time for relief to arrive from the main keep. The large Orc would be killed at the eastern gatehouse by Nathan Scott and following his death the Orc force retreated, but the defenders had been drained beyond repair by the attack suffering immense losses, and Loras Tyrell fell into a coma following a massive blow from the large Orc.

If you try and get between us. I'll cut you're pretty little eyes from your head. I'll use your fingers as spoons. I'll wear your feet like shoes. No one stands between us.
Lindsay Baker

Lucas Scott leading a group of his five most trusted knights and they travel beneath tunnels under Tree Hill following Morrigan and reaching the end they kill there way through several houses controlled by Orcs making their way towards Typhon Castle and once inside they find Jaime Typhon and after the shock of seeing him alive Morrigan tells them he is coming into the city and will attempt to assassinate Dan Scott to which Lucas grudgingly accepts must happen if they want to survive. It was Brooke Scott who was trying to find peace during this time that she spends a lot of time by herself and visiting one of her favorite spots she instead of finding peace finds Julian Baker, and Lindsay Baker kissing and she watches this in shock as they are brother and sister, but eventually Julian departs leaving Lindsay behind and when Brooke goes to leave Lindsay speaks to her revealing she knew that she was there the entire time. Going inside and talking to Lindsay she discovers the girl that was so angry all that time ago is now basically insane as Lindsay questions whether Brooke is trying to get between her and Julian and despite saying she is not Lindsay proceeds to threaten her and reveal that she murdered her sister, and parents after they tried to get between her and Julian. Revealing to Brooke the events of the murders she attempts to strike Brooke but Brooke is able to dodge the attack and get out of the house running to the keep to find her brother who she knows will keep her safe. Instead of finding her brother she finds her father of whom questions her as to what is wrong and in a moment of weakness she reveals the truth and instead of protecting her Dan threatens Lucas's life if she reveals what happened with Lindsay and following this she runs to her room locking the door behind her and crying.

Your father knows the truth Brooke. Help me find out that truth for myself.
Jaime Typhon

Waking up the next morning she goes to the kitchen to find breakfast but while walking in the halls is grabbed from behind and pulled into the basement where she is confronted by Jaime Typhon of whom reveals himself as a survivor of House Typhon and the two speak for some time with Jaime demanding that Brooke look deeper into what happened at Tree Hill and she agrees wanting to help Jaime and work against her father. Led on by the plotting of Jaime she gets him inside the inner keep where he tells her is the evidence of what happened to get the Orcs inside of the city, and entering the room he tells her he apologizes and then ties her hands and puts a knife to her kneck. Using the threat of killing Brooke he is able to get himself past the inner keep guards and into the hall room with Dan where Nathan is also present, and Jaime threatens to kill Dan if he doesn't hear the truth but to the shock of Brooke and confusion of Jaime Dan just moves behind his desk to grab a bow from the wall and as Jaime screams to know the truth Dan just begins laughing causing Jaime to let go of Brooke and charge at Dan knocking Nathan to the ground, but as he gets near Dan he is struck in the leg by an arrow by Lucas who drops the bow and goes to Brooke while Nathan restrains Jaime who continues screaming. Now restrained Jaime begins openly talking about what he knows and the fact that Dan Scott had sealed his family into the keep as well as known about the coming of the Orcs, and while speaking he is struck through the face by an arrow as Dan kills him.

Following the killing of Jaime its Dan who is confronted by Lucas who knew Jaime as they were of similar age and as Lucas and Dan's fight gets worse Dan's guards arrive and at Dan's orders take Lucas into custody putting him a cell to cool off leaving Dan, Nathan, and Brooke alone. Without Lucas to protect her Brooke is overcome by fear and all the questions she has in her head over what Jaime told her she is unable to ask and allows her father and brother to force her silence again using the threat of violence against Lucas to further put fear into her. Waking up in the morning Brooke looks for her brother and discovers that Lucas has been sentenced to two years in prison, as he is also being tried for conspiracy alongside five other knights who Dan is blaming for being part of a movement to attempt to kill him, and leaving Dan she goes to the cells where she wants to find Lucas and his knights in the cell. Stopped from entering the cells themselves by guards she is told that no one can visit Lucas as he has been labeled a threat to the people alongside his knights she breaks down crying and is comforted by Lord Primus Amatius who is in command of the cells. Primus sends away several of the guards leaving only himself and his son Lucius Amatius and then after talking over things with Brooke Primus lets Lucius take her into the cells where she will be able to talk to Lucas one time but he lets her know that this wont happen again as Primus is being stripped of his command in favor of Marcelet Rivel who is a Dan Scott loyalist. Brooke meets with Lucas and the two talk for some time with Lucas forcing Brooke to promise him she will take charge of the new duels and as they continue to talk she is stopped by the arrival of Tristan Gencien of whom as a loyalist to Dan forces her out of the room. Keeping her promise Brooke goes to Loras Tyrell who Lucas had suggested but finds that Loras has been placed on house arrest following what happened with Lucas as he is seen as too loyal to Lucas and thus she goes to the next person Lucas suggested in the form of Thomas Sifflet and finding him fishing at the lake its Brooke who speaks to him and convinces him to take on the role of the defender of Tree hill.

Second Battle of Tree Hill - Arrival

The armies of the alliance would land around all sides of Tree Hill intent on retaking the lost city.

For a warrior waiting years for something to happen, he didn't seem to care much that the army he was waiting to arrive got destroyed.
Saiden Scarlet

As the Lucernian/Gondorian/High Forest alliance destroyed the Orcs that had held the Gondor siege of Minas Ithil for many years immediate plan became the movement of portions of this army towards the besieged city of Tree Hill. Jurden over the decade of the siege had become obsessed with maintaining his own power, and had basically become uninterested in actually ending the siege through conventional means. Alongside this he also had a growing belief that the humans were completely useless and for all of these reasons Jurden Hardaxe made no effort to double his scouts or anything that might have assisted him in stopping the coming ambush. And if all of this added up wasn't enough he was also still being whispered to by Morrigan who was telling him that the crisis was the other Orcs in the area. Following the gathering of the forces of the alliance in the area they would organize themselves into seven main armies. The 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 7th armies would travel towards the port of Klausburg. Landing at Klausburg they would meet with the local leadership there and made their decisions on the direction of there forces. The 1st, 3rd and Fourth would move up the Oakheart River and land near Castle Prennig where they would move from there towards Tree Hill. The 7th army would be sent up the Bresklo River where it would land at the ruins of Glendt Hold. The seventh army would be joined in this campaign by forces mobilized from House Brentfurd as well as House Winklebock. The 2nd army would land at Vinterbold Hold north of Tree Hill and joined by forces from the area they would prepare to move to Castle Interbold and then to the north side of Tree Hill. The 5th army led by the Westerlands Arch Lord would land at Castle Hackenholt where they would move against Tree Hill from the west. The final army in the 6th army would be formed from the southern vassals of the Stormlands and led by House Crane they would move themselves to the city of Leiblinshire where they would attack towards Tree Hill form the south.

The arrival of the vast armies of William Lovie III. would have major effects on those forces already around the Stormlands. The first major effect was following the news of victory at Minus Ithil. House Guntbold who had been named the Arch Lord of the Stormlands following the collapse of Tree Hill realized that with the goals of William becoming clear they were going to have to pick a side in the coming conflict. It was Lothar Guntbold that would push his nephew Edric Guntbold who was at the time the Arch Lord of the Stormlands to see the error of the side they had picked and to call a council of House Guntbold. Following this call it was Lothar that left Guntbold Hold to return to Lucerne and be at the side of his friend James Lovie II. The council would be attended by all members of House Guntbold except for Winfred Guntbold, and his wife Ophellia who remained at Klausburg but sent their son Winfred Guntbold II. to act in his stead. At this meeting it was decided that House Guntbold would change sides to William Lovie III. and would send both Winfred Guntbold II. and Athilda Guntbold to William Lovie III. to open this dialogue. The pair would take a ship from Guntbold Hold and travel along the rivers of the Valley of Lucerne where they would eventually stop at Vindale Hold which they knew would be the eventual crossing point of the armies of William in their move back west. When the fleet of William arrived Vindale Hold it was Athilda and Winfred that would meet with the leadership of the army revealing details of the area.

For a warrior waiting years for something to happen, he didn't seem to care much that the army he was waiting to arrive got destroyed.
Saiden Scarlet

The night was spent with Athilda meeting with William, and members of the Shadow Council and it was during this meeting that Edward Cullen discovered her Magi abilities and confronted her on why she did not reveal this before meeting with the prince. Telling them her fear of reprisals she was forgiven by the group and continued to tell them about the situation in the Stormlands. Athilda would let the group know that the Guntbolds were willing to assist William despite what was a top-down command from King James Lovie II. to not assist his army in the movement against Tree Hill, but she wanted assurances that the Guntbolds would not be punished following the campaign. Needing more forces, and not wanting resistance from human forces as they moved against Tree Hill it was William that made the decision to agree to this arrangement. With this agreement in place, it was Winfred Guntbold II. that would travel back to Guntbold Hold with the Guntbold ship to tell the Guntbold leadership about the agreement. Athilda would remain behind in part as a hostage of sorts but her good impression on the Shadow Council had led to her joining them as an advisor of sorts.

Retaking the Capital[]
Leven Martell10

Leven Martell arrived on the field only a day before the battle would happen with a large force of House Martell and her father's writing of support.

The closer we got to night the more I came to understand that the world would be much different after I liberated Tree Hill. Without a single doubt in my mind I now understood that my father had done this. My father was responsible for all of the wrongs in Lucerne, and once this happened there would be no more quests to keep me from the simple fact that he had to die. My father had to die for what had happened here.
William Lovie III.

Waiting for the night to come William would be able to watch for the first and last time the Orcs setting off their massive drums and horns in order to force the defenders to be unable to sleep during the night and thus exhausted during the day. Hearing this many among the attacking army grew even more angry at the fact that the defenders had been forced to endure this for all this time without anyone helping them. William would spend the night with Leven, Jasper, Emmett, and Edward as the Shadow Council as they were not openly to each other calling themselves spent a few last hours with each other before they all knew everything was going to change. Finding themselves greeted throughout the night by every lord who not wanted to speak to William they couldn't help but see how different things had become for the naive group. During one of these meetings he would talk with Charles Swan who by this point he was beginning to view as a father of sorts, and discussing with him his relationship with Isabella he would bring up the idea of a betrothal. Charles was happy about this and agreed on the spot, and following this agreement it was Charles and William that would meet together with many of the remaining nobles and this betrothal was brought up during many of these meetings thus spreading word of its agreement. The Orcs by this point had no contact with their scouts, and yet they still remained completely unaware. Morrigan would at this point make her final step towards sealing the fate of Jurden Hardaxe when she would convince Jurden to host a large party for his Orcs which made them all drunk and even less prepared.

The Massacre[]
William Lovie111
I hope they felt in their final moments all the pain of those who they had so cowardly killed years before, and tormented for years since. I hope they face an eternity of pain an anguish for what they have done.
Charlie Swan

As the night neared the Orcs would begin their party and the loud noise would alert the alliance that this was underway, and also awake most of the defenders of Tree Hill of whom were prepared for what many believed was the final attack. The party continued, and the alliance moved itself completely into position against the now scout less Orcish force, and pushed in many places all the way against the wall with the entire Orcish force within the city itself or dead outside. The night came and the army would move on their predetermined signal of which moved everything forward. The infiltration of House Scarlet into the under tunnels of the city begin as Saiden Scarlet led a large force of hundreds into the tunnels in the goal of reaching the estate of House James and once the attack was underway they would spring upon the already ambushed Orcs. From the west the forces of House Greymane, and House Ordos would move themselves through the broken shattered western gate and encountered hundreds of Orcs in differing stages of drunkenness and the fighting wouldn't spark any concerns from the Orcs as it was all believed still to be a part of the party. Seeing the ambush was underway it was at this moment that Morrigan finally ended the charade and came upon Jurden while he was standing in his residence.

Sometimes Brooke you play the long game. You see if you lie to someone for so long he eventually believes that it is truth. For how could anyone keep up a lie for as long as you do. Once they no longer believe you lie, they believe everything that you say. You can whisper the most dangerous of things to them, and they will drink everything you give. Then finally when the moment is complete you may spring. Spring the final trap on the fool who allowed himself to die.

Its one thing Leven to win this battle. Once we win this battle, because I believe we will. Once that happens the time to return home is upon us. You know what we will find in Lucerne. You know what victory here means. It means the death of my father.
William Lovie III.

The battle would end with the complete destruction of the Orc army and the liberation of Tree Hill. When the armies of Lucerne and Gondor entered the remains of Tree Hill, they found the sad remnants of a once truly mighty city. Food, aid and supplies were rushed to the city, but before the true rebuild could begin Andrew Lovie would take the reigns of the King of Lucerne following a duel with his father.

The Rise of the Second Queen of Lucerne
Grief is like the ocean; it’s deep and dark and bigger than all of us. And pain is like a thief in the night. Quiet. Persistent. Unfair. Diminished by time and faith and love. I didn't know Lord Scott, but I’m jealous of him, because I see how his absence has affected the people who did know him. So I know he mattered to them. And I know he was loved. People say that Earl Scott was a great Lord: honorable, just, fair, kind. They say he made this city what it was. Today we celebrate his life. Today we celebrate a great man, I wish I knew.

Funeral of Earl Scott[]

Brooke Scott(6
As the fires stopped burning my mind returned to the grand-father that I had loved so much back then and could't help but think how much he had been forgotten. He died so that all of us could live, and yet my father cared nothing about it. The funural was about remembering his life and the way he died. It was about showing him somehow how sorry I was.
Brooke Scott
When the fires had stopped burning and William had returned to Lucerne to deal with his father, Brooke was left with the fact that now she was safe but at the same time she had lost so much. Her friends were dead, her family was in tatters, and the one person other then Haley and Peyton that had loved in her in the form of her grand-father was dead. She asked her mother if they had found any sign of her grandfather but she said that by this time there was nothing to find. When she asked if there would be a funeral Karen said that Dan didn't think it was appropriate and was making efforts to make sure that Earl Scott's name was forgotten from the memory of Tree Hill so that he alone would be celebrated. At this news she left her mothers side near tears and made her way to her grandfather's room where she discovered servants tearing into the room. For a moment she just watched them as
Brooke Scott Funeral
they tore her grandfather's room to pieces, and she just really didn't understand the world in that moment. When she went to ask them what was going on, her father came up behind her and told her that Earl's room was being turned into a resting room for Karen. When Brooke told him that she didn't want him to get rid of her father's things, he looked at her for a moment before grabbing her roughly by the arm and pulling her into a side room nearby. Inside the room he proceeded to verbally attack her before pushing her roughly into the wall. At the sound of Brooke being pushed into the wall her brother Nathan and several servants approached the room and saw her on the floor with Dan clearly the reason for her being on the ground. Brooke at this point with tears in her face looked to her brother Nathan for some kind of help, but instead Nathan just turned around and walked back the way he came, and after this the servants quickly followed suit. At this point Dan would verbally assault the nearly broken Brooke and the two would finally have what was in a lot of ways a long awaited confrontation. Dan would reject anything that Brooke was requesting in regards to Earl as Dan was extremely hateful towards Earl Scott of whom despite being his father he had always believed had favored Kieth and for this reason had been complicit in the ambush that had killed his own father.
End of Darkness
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. You destroyed a city. Killed hundreds of good men out of fear. Is this how you want to be remembered father. Is this the world you want to leave behind? I know you were a good person once. Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.
Brooke Scott: Please father I never ask you for a thing...why can't you just do this one thing for me...please father.
Dan Scott : Just sit on the ground and remember your place in all this little girl.
Brooke Scott : And what is my place father?
Dan Scott : The bottom of the food chain.

After saying that he would walk out of the room leaving a broken Brooke lying on the ground for sometime before her brother Nathan returned into the room looking severely disappointed in himself, and perhaps worried about Brooke more then she thought he ever would. Brooke didn't know what to say to her brother so she ran out of their and ran away past the cries of Haley who noticed her running away, and finally made her way to the glades west of Tree Hill where she and her grandfather had spent a lot of time. While she spent the time alone she knew that her grandfather needed to be remembered and if her father wouldn't help her then the only person left to go to was her mother.

I had never been particularly close to my mother, and while that made me sad sometimes I understood her. I knew that she loved me in her way, but she had lost herself somewhere along the road. I can't blame her for loving someone, and then following that love even when it didn't make sence.
Brooke Scott

When Brooke left the glade she went to the home of Margeary Tonsvale of whome was the matriarch of House Tonsvale, and the women that her mother spent most of her days with filling out the boredom. She barged into the estate being allowed past the guards because they knew who she was, and when she reached her mother she grabbed her by the arm and pulled her outside. Outside she tried to make her mother help her, but she quickly discovered that her mother was exactly as far gone as she appeared when her mother not only refused to do this, but also moved to side with her husband against her daughter. This was too much for Brooke and knowing the debate between House Scott was over she knew the only person that could help her was William Lovie III. Returning home from this she begin her plotting about what she should do next, but a major event was going to happen that would both accelerate and change her planning.

=====Pregnancy=====
Brooke Scott Large
Riley was the most beautiful thing I`d ever seen in my entire life. He looked just like his father, and from the moment he was born till the dat I die I will never waver in my devotion for him.
Brooke Scott

It wasn't more then two months after William had left the city, and the beginning of their affair that Brooke begin having trouble keeping food down early in the day, and soon after she realized that she hadn't had her bleeding's during that time either. Thinking she knew what it was but wanting to be sure before she sprung this potentially horrible news on William she went to see Haley, and when the two met she created the first lie between the two when she told Haley she had become involved romantically with a Gondorian soldier. After going through the list of things that had happened to her and seeing that the situations were the same Haley indeed validated her pregnancy, and with the knowledge that William was coming to Tree Hill in less then a month she became increasingly worried about what his reaction would be. William and her were still writing each other nearly every other week and although these letters were heavily vague in their wording the two seemed to understand each other already and there growing love for each other only grew stronger through this communication. During this time waiting for Maergary Tyrell to return from Highgarden she spent her days and nights with Haley of whom by this point no longer had any real relationship with her brother Nathan and was increasingly obvious about her affections to Lucas Scott. With her best friend Margeary Tyrell the only person who truly knew about William she became hysterical when she saw Margeary a week later upon her return from Highgarden.

You keep a secret for long enough and the only thing that keeps you from madness is the knowledge that eventually you'll be able to tell someone. You tell more lies except this time you tell them to yourself. You tell yourself that all these secrets, and all these lies are only temporary. I knew they weren't but I did it anyway. Don't you see what I do for you my Dragon. Your everything for me, and I would lie to Glaurung himself if it would protect you.
Brooke Scott to William Lovie III.

Brooke told Margeary of her pregnancy, and her friend attempted to talk her down as in her heart she knew that William could very likely simply end the relationship and turn Brooke into a single mother with very little prospects for the rest of her life. Despite these constant and powerful pleading by Margeary it was Brooke that was completely unwilling to accept a world where she didn't have his baby and thus she begged Margeary to assist her in finding a proper excuse as to how she could be pregnant. Despite the extreme misgivings that Margeary had about the decision she was still her best friend so together they came up with reinforcing the earlier lie about a Gondorian soldier and her had become romantically involved following the liberation and she had become pregnant during these intimate moments. She and Margaery decided she needed to tell her family and she did this a few days later when she asked them all to meet for a dinner. When she told her family she was accompanied by Maergary Tyrell of whom held her hand the entire time and while Dan Scott was furious and Nathan disgusted they all appeared to believe her except for Lucas who had come to understand what had happened between Brooke and William, and in that moment when he figured it out he went to his sister.

Brooke Scott(5
He walked into the room after I told everyone and had planned to hide out in my room for the duration of the pregnancy. He didn`t say a word just walked up to my bed and sat down on the side and rested his hand on my back. As he looked at me in the eyes I knew he knew and I nearly immediately begin crying. To his credit he sat there with me and rubbed my back while I cried.
Brooke Scott

As Brooke finished telling her parents she retreated to her room as she was basically pulled along by Margeary. When they arrived back in her room she was shocked when no one followed her, but she could hear yelling from the living room so she knew that they were still arguing over what was happening. It would be hours before the yelling finally stopped and she heard the shouts of her father before watching Dan, and Nathan storm out of the Keep and into the city proper. When after everything had seemingly calmed down Margeary left and when she did she was followed behind by her brother Lucas who had known about the tryst that she had with William Lovie after he had admitted it to him because of their bond. He did not say anything but she had always suspected that he knew, and the look he gave her just made it all the more real for her. After she cried for what felt like hours she and Lucas discussed what she was going to do, and she made it very clear that she was not going to give up the baby under any circumstances. Neither of them knew but there entire conversation would be overheard by Dan Scott of whom had come back inside the Keep after getting into a fight with Nathan and planned on getting his anger out by coming in and making sure that Brooke knew how much of a disappointment she was. This all changed when he heard her whispering to Lucas in the room about the true father of the child growing inside her. Knowing the importance of this later on, and realizing neither of his two children would ever tell him the truth or help him willingly he hid himself in an adjacent room and listened to everything they said about the situation. As Dan realized that Brooke was involved with not just a secret man but actually the King of Lucerne he became unstoppable in his desire to make this union the most important moment in House Scott since the fall of House Targaryan.

When I realized that most forgotten child was secretly carrying around such a secret I was beyond shocked. She had always been the runt of the family but I guess this would be her shot at proving herself.
Dan Scott

The moment that Dan heard that Brooke and William Lovie were together he had finally come to terms with her usefulness. In Dan's mind he would be able to use Brooke to gain the power base that he required. He stayed silent with his knowledge for a time as he continued to built up the plans he knew he would need in order to blackmail the king of Lucerne. When finally he had gained the foothold into the whole thing he came to believe that he could force Brooke into making William leave Bella Swan and thus make Brooke the new Queen of Lucerne. If this failed then Dan would unleash the fact that Riley Scott was actually the first born son of William Lovie thus creating a serious competitor to the throne of House Lovie. All of Dan's plans would come to a head when William arrived in Tree Hill for what was described as a mission to oversee the reconstruction that was underway in Tree Hill, but was actually William just needing to see Brooke. As William arrived in the city he was silently watched by Dan Scott's men who Dan wanted to find proof that William and Brooke were actually together. As William entered the city he found himself unable to even contemplate being official and instead of first visiting Dan Scott he made his way to the carefully prepared Order of the Red Dragon compound run by Marcel Lovie within the ruins of Typhon Castle where Brooke was awaiting him. The two would basically lock themselves in the compound for many hours as he could barley imagine his life without her in that moment.

Brooke Scott Sexy1
For a time despite the fact that I knew my place was tenious I felt fine. I was okay because I had him to myself in my heart. I didn't matter to me that she got to be the one who claimed him in the eyes of the people, because I knew in my heart that she could never have him the way that I did. He loved me in a way that she just couldn't compete with.
Brooke Scott

As William hid himself within the Order of the Red Dragon members of Dan Scott's forces attempted to infiltrate the compound but were captured by Ezio Ederiz of whom had traveled alongside his king. With the men captured Dan realized that he might be found out before he had even had a chance to tell Brooke about what he was doing, and thus he moved to assassinate the men he had sent to the compound. As the prisoners were taken north their convoy was ambushed by forces of House Scott of whom targeted the prisoners and then fled the scene. Back at Tree Hill it was William that finally moved on from Brooke for a moment and went to visit with the Order of the Grey Dragon that were constructing the cities most important elements, and while he did this Brooke returned to the House Scott estate as her father had summoned her and with William away she could not exactly refuse the command of her father. Her father having seen the protection around William and Brooke took this as the proof of the reality of the situation and thus would create a plan where he would lead Brooke to go to William for help with both the pregnancy but also the funeral of Earl Scott which he would continue to resist in order to get Brooke to go to William. When Brooke arrived her days of happiness were taken away almost immediately when her father berated her with insults and when the conversation got the funeral of Earl Scott it was Dan that once again pushed back resisting any attempt, and then also confined Brooke to her room as he wanted separation between William and Brooke so that when Brooke went to William next she would be visibly pregnant.

Begging a King[]
Brooke Scott)9
The city was massive. Gleaming white as you entered its walls but when I did get past the walls the whole city was alive with the sounds of cheering, and laughter. After living so many years just begging to live this was a new thing for me, and knowing that he was responsible for all this happiness didn't surprise me one bit.

With her attempts to escape her confinement meeting with failure Brooke watched from the castle walls of Scott Keep as William attempted several times to come to the keep and see Brooke but each time he left, and watching this broke Brooke's heart but also increasingly motivated her to rise above being controlled by her father. When finally William left Tree Hill to return to Lucerne it was Brooke that begin plotting her next move to get herself into a position where she was no ones servant. Unable to get her family to do what she wanted she risked a lot by deciding that she needed to see William. Following his departure from Tree Hill it was William Lovie III. that had left his cousin in command of the city and as William had nearly publicly embarrassed Dan Scott it was little question that Marcel was not someone who would work with Dan Scott and Dan had been making it clear that anyone who turned on him would be greatly punished once he had regained power. Making her choice that she would turn on her father completely she made her way to Castle Typhon where Marcel Lovie II. has made his garrison centered out of and asking to speak with Marcel she reveals her pregnancy to Marcel and trusting in the words of William that Marcel is a trustworthy man she tells him that William is the father. The two would discuss things and Marcel Marcel would be the man that William had said he was and assigned a troop of soldiers to her protection and then sent her north in a carriage to Lucerne to see William. Arriving at Lucerne the carriage driver explained that William Lovie had taken control of the Kingdom and was now the King after he had thrown Bill, and Sean Lovie out of Lucerne. Accompanied by the guards she made her way to the Keep where she hoped to find Jasper, Edward or Emmett because William had told her that of anyone alive those were the people he trusted next to his sister. She would have gone to Alice but she worried that Alice would be on Bella's side and wouldn't help her. If she had thought that she was given ample proof of that when she arrived at the Keep and wasn't greeted by one of his best friends but instead by Alice Lovie of whom stood in the Gateway staring at her through the garb as if she had somehow known all along that she was coming.

I could hear her voice from within the tent. I had spent only a few days with Brooke and her voice was like a siren to me and with the siren now within range I left my conversation with Alice without a word and left the tent going towards her. I saw her immeidatly as I left the tent, and she looked to be in an argument with Leven, and Jasper of which Jasper was holding her by the arm in what looked to me as an attempt to stop her from falling over.

"Lady Scott." I had reached her and she saw me letting out a smile when our eyes met. She curtsied and I took her by the hand.

"My King if it is possible I need a word." There was a desperation in her voice and despite the looks from everyone around me I ignored them.

"Of course milady." I turned towards the tent to see an enraged Alice who was glaring at me. "Sister we shall finish our conversation later."

"As you say." Alice walked right by me hitting me in the shoulder as she left, and while usually Emmett would have laughed at such a childish display there was no laughter to be found. Without another thought of the stupidity of being so brazen in my behavior I led Brooke into the tent closing the flap behind us.

"You couldn't stay away." Turning around from closing the tent I regretted the words as Brooke had tears flowing down her face and rushed into my arms. "Tell me whats happened?"

"What is it Will?"

"I was talking with Hanna Arryn."

"I fear I have been out of the loop for too long. I don't know the name."

"She was a friend of mine during school. She came here as a sort of measure of what I would lose if I don't stop moving against Berne. She was a threat of sorts."

"Your brother has not realized the end is at hand?"

"He still clings to the idea that he can somehow win this."

"This threat doesn't change what you have to do."

"Its more then just Hanna. She came and told me of Amber Heard." I didn't wait for any recognition from Brooke as how could she possibly know of Amber.

"Your former betrothed?"

"How did you?"

"I've been doing my research on you my king."

"She is in Berne too."

"Do you still care for her."

"We were children when we were betrothed. We played the married couple, but we were children."

"You fear for her?"

"Hanna told me that our childish playing has resulted in a child. Amber Heard is locked within the walls of Berne with my firstborn."

"She had your child?"

"Apparently. And now this poor child lives under constant threat of being discovered. It is not enough that my childish behavior with his mother has led to him now living a life as a base born child. No now I have put his life in danger by not stopping my brother a long time ago."

The Funeral[]
Grief is like the ocean; it’s deep and dark and bigger than all of us. And pain is like a thief in the night. Quiet. Persistent. Unfair. Diminished by time and faith and love. I didn't know Lord Scott, but I’m jealous of him, because I see how his absence has affected the people who did know him. So I know he mattered to them. And I know he was loved. People say that Earl Scott was a great Lord: honorable, just, fair, kind. They say he made this city what it was. Today we celebrate his life. Today we celebrate a great man, I wish I knew.

The world always had seem so simple when I was young. I would grow up and marry, and that perfect knight that I found would gather me up in his arms and protect me from the world. It was a childish dream to believe that life would be as simple as all that, but that's the fun of being a child. When your young you get the chance to believe in things, and hope for dreams that when your older you can't even contemplate. I walked into the estate and old lady Helga gave me a strange look that I wanted to find out more about, but I didn't dare take a second longer then necessary before I saw my prince again.

As I entered Riley's room I found Dan sitting in the chair beside the crib holding Riley in his arms. He was holding him close to himself singing some song I had never heard and rocking him back and forth. This was the first time that I had seen Dan even go near Riley, and for a reason that wouldn't have been normal for a daughter to feel about her father holding their baby I felt deep within myself that I needed to protect Riley from whatever cruetly my father had in mind for him. As I approached him he begin to laugh before standing up still holding onto Riley. "Father what are you doing here?" I tried to move closer to him, but he held out a hand to keep me at a distance. It was as I moved closer and he put out his hand that I noticed the two men standing in the corner of the room. One one was hooded and what little I could see past the tattoo of a scorpian on his arm I didn't know, but the other man was very clearly Dustin Crain the lord of his family.

"Dear daughter do you not trust me to hold onto your child?" Dan gave me a mocking look before continueing. "For what reason could I have to want to harm this child? Hmmm...is there something that you want to tell me Brooke?" He moved closer to me still holding onto Riley and then shut the door behind me. I stood motionless infront of him, and as if sencing my fear he moved forward and slapped me in the face knocking me to the ground. The pain was all over my face, and I raised my hand to try and offer some comfort to the wound, but found he grabbed my hand and ripped me from the ground to make me lean against the wall. "I asked you a simple thing you moron. Is your brain so small that not even the tiniest of things can slip out." Walking into the corner I could hear rustling in the corner of the room and looked up to see Dan putting Riley into his baby bed before sitting back on the chair he had been sitting in. I let go of the wall and as I went to move closer to him, I felt hands push me from behind and saw Lord Dustin laughing down at me.

"I don't know what you want me to tell you Dan." I crawled a bit towards him before using a table to get back to my feet." Just tell me what you want to know and I'll tell you...this doesn't have to escalate any further Dan."

"You think I'm worried about this escalating? What could you possibly do to hurt me you slut. You have been an embaressment to this family since the first day I saw you parading around in your dresses. Tell me you pathetic girl what could you possibly do to hurt me." There was an almost unhuman look in his eyes, and whatever piece of him he lost during the siege was clearly the part of him that knew right from wrong.

"I'll tell Lucas about this. I'll tell him..."He moved with more speed towards me then I expected and it scared me to the point I jumped backwards slamming into Dustin who pushed me to the ground again. Trying to get up Dan grabbed me and pulled me towards him.

"You really are quite pathetic you know that. I know everything Brooke, I overheard you talking to your brother about your little affair with the king. The child is of House Lovie." I went to respond but before I could he threw me to the ground which crumpled me once again. I shielded myself from the incoming blows I thought were coming but instead he just kept talking. "You will not lie to me here...not in this place you will not dare to lie to me." The other man came behind me and grabbed me pulling me upwards to look at Dan. "The question of whos the father of that child has already been anwsered, but the question I need you to anwser is how far are you willing to go to protect him." That was the kind of question only a man who didn't know what love was could ask. A parent would do anything to protect their child. I would do anything for Riley, and here I stood in front of my own father who was clearly losing his mind.

"I would do anything." I reached my hand to my face and felt the cascading tear drops dotting my face, and looked around for someone to help me. The hooded man held me tight to him making sure I couldn't move, and looking at Lord Dustin told me that he had thrown his lot in with Dan and couldn't back down. When I looked at Dan if he noticed he didn't seem to care or show any response. Walking in circles I did see the happiness in his eyes as clearly he had recieved the anwser he wanted from me

"Good. Then if your are being truthful your going to do exactly what I say. Because if you don't your lover boy is going to be hurt in ways even he can't repair." That was the moment I knew. I still meant nothing. This had nothing to do with what he wanted me to do, and had everything to do with what he clearly wanted me to make William do. So there I was stuck being held by one man, while my father blackmailed me into betraying one thing in this world that I could not betray.

"What would you have me do." Whatever he said didn't matter. I wouldn't hurt William. I couldn't hurt William. Whatever he said I would find a way to tell Lucas and he would protect me from Dan's wrath. Maybe I would simply flee eastward to Patria and stay with my uncle there. He always loved us. It didn't matter to Keith that we weren't his. It didn't matter that we must have been constant reminders of the brother he loathed so much. None of that matter to him as much as loving us. It was times like this that I missed him more then ever.

"I don't want you to betray your beloved. I don't want you to blackmail him. I just want you to make sure that when the day comes that Bella Swan is no longer alive you will be ready." To say that I hadn't thought of what life would be like without Bella alive would be a complete lie. Everytime he returned to the city he shared with her, the bed that she warmed for him. I grew sick. What right did she have to what was mine. We both had sons for him. I'm sure that Bella loved him as any servent loves their master I mean how could she not, but she was nothing. An insect scrambling around the world trying to destroy my relationship with William.

"Ready for what?" Dan gave a wave to the man behind me and he released me. Turning back to him I looked in his face and saw more of a monster then a man. He had a crooked nose that made the rest of his face look even uglier then it would have otherwise. A massive burn covered the left side of his face and puss oozed from it as if it was an open wound still. As if it had happened yesterday. His left eye under the burns was gone, but his right eye had a peircing glare to them that made clearly understand how bad a man this was. Who was this man.

My staring at the ugly man was interupted by Dan's voice behind me anwsering my question."For you to be Queen of Lucerne you moron."

-Exerpt from the End of Darkness

After this Dan would tell her that in order for Dan to for a time protect the dark secret she would have to promise that in the future if Dan demanded something of the relationship then Brooke would do it without question or resistance. Brooke agreed to this, before quickly getting Riley from his crib and then retreating from her room. Moving away from her room she made her way through the estate before making her way back to the compound of William Lovie III. and the Order of the Red Dragon. As she entered the compound she was noticed by William from

afar as he had been patiently waiting for her since his plans had fallen through. Seeing her holding his son he was overcome with love for her, and he walked towards her before bringing her into the large tent. Inside he held her and his son close for many minutes and so overcome with love was he that he didn't notice the bruise on her eye, or the tears streaming down her face. For Brooke's part this was the first time since she saw her father that she felt safe, and she held onto him with everything she had. After a few minutes he pulled back and noticed the tears that dotted her face, and the very noticeable bruise below her eye. William tried to make her explain what had happened, but Brooke spent the next long time convincing William that he had nothing to worry about. When William wouldn't take this as a good enough excuse she would tell him that she was being threatened and that if she told him by who then he would be harmed. She said she had it under control, and that was all she could tell him right now. William made it very clear that he wasn't going to forget this, and that whoever had harmed her would be dead without any question. With the protectiveness and love that he showed her she broke down and fell into his arms before he carried her to bed and they lay together for the rest of the night.
House Nighting Rebellion
Did you think you could change the world and there would be no push back?

House Nighting Rebellion[]

Rachel Lee4
This was a world they had lived in for generations. Everyone knew. Everyone took a share. You destroyed it in an instant without a thought for the consequences.
Rachel Nighting

With William Lovie III. now the king of Lucerne the leadership of House Nighting begin to fear for the fate of their businesses which relied heavily on the use of workers in near slave like conditions, but even more dangerous for them was the fact that they sold Lucernians at the slave markets of Paris. House Nighting watched as the regime took control of businesses all around Lucerne and turned them into Kingdom businesses, and when William came to Tree Hill no one in House Nighting had any doubts what was going to happen, and they were not proven wrong. When William arrived one of the first businesses that was told to him was the racket that was run by House Nighting, and thus he met with the leaders of House Nighting and asked them to explain themselves, but House Nighting didn't believe they did anything wrong and as such William became very aggravated with them, and was harsher on their business then most he had dealt with. The members of House Nighting were beyond shocked at what had happened to them, and in this moment they attempted to meet with all the members of their customer base, but they discovered that House Scott had been working behind the scenes and had infiltrated this network, and was now dismantling the criminal enterprise from within. House Nighting would offer William Lovie III. huge segments of their profit base, and they hoped this would assuage him, but instead he sent in the Order of the Red Dragon led by Sawyer Shephard, of whom started a large investigation that finished basically the entire criminal organization.

He didn't understand that what we did was a necessary part of a Kingdom. He didn't understand that without us someone else would simply just rise up to do the exact same thing that we were doing. I see us as a necessary part of the Kingdom of Lucerne, not the monsters he portrayed us as.
James Nighting

With their businesses in shambles and the slave trade over, House Nighting became poor very quickly, and all the friends that they once had disappeared overnight it seemed. This caused a lot of resentment and as such there resentment became public knowledge and as such they were met by members of House Jestife who were members of the True Sons of Lucerne. After this communication House Nighting turned to service in the True Sons in order to hopefully regain their authority over the slave trade. During this time of shifting alliegences it would be Rachel Nighting that begin to stray from her family somewhat as she begin to have an emotional affair with Raginald Frightling of whom was the young heir to House Frightling and while married he showed her something that she had never found with Cooper. At first they were silent in their support of the True Sons of Lucerne, as they didn't want further attention, but it would be a single piece of mail sent by a raven that would send the members of House Nighting into a fierce debate of which would decide the future of House NIghting.

I saw you once Your Grace. It was at the Battle of Minus Ithil. You were slashing and stabbing at the monsters and for a moment I stopped. Just stopped and watched you. All the fighting surrounding me and there I was watching you move like a god. I knew then that you were my king.
Edric Nighting

It was at this point that Edric Nighting would arrive in Forks where he had made the decision to turn against his family and reveal the plans of his family. Edric Nighting had several weeks before this begin hearing talk from his father and older brother that they planned to rise against House Scott and murder the Scotts in the city before taking control of Tree Hill itself. He would watch his brother in secret as his brother James Nighting II. followed Brooke Scott watching her movements, and watching her himself he discovered that she was the mistress of William Lovie III. through listening in on a conversation between Brooke and Haley James. Learning of this relationship between William and Brooke the loyal Edric Nighting would depart Tree Hill by horse with his friend Hanzal Grightling heading towards Forks where they had heard William Lovie III. was meeting with his wife and the leadership of Forks. Arriving at Forks the two would quickly gain an audience with the king of whom was surrounded at the time by Charlie Swan, Leven Martell, and Bella Swan, and seeing how influential the group was Edric would immediately tell the king what he knew which horrified the group of whom had already rallied their forces and was planning to move out the next day to Berne. Realizing the main forces still needed to go to Berne he would command Jasper Hale to lead a secondary force to Tree Hill in order to defend the Scott's once the Nighting's moved against them, and after discussing it was decided that Jasper would move south through the province of Rosten where he would summon a force from that province's lord in House Elric alongside Northern Tree Hill's lordn in House Guntbold and then lead them southward to Tree Hill.

Tell me Jasper how it is fair that your love for him is more valuable then my own. He doesn't love you any more then he loves me. So tell me the truth why you must always stand by his side?
Leven Martell

Following the breaking up of the meeting Jasper, Leven, and Bella would follow William back to his tent where Jasper would convinse William to take him with him to Berne and instead send Leven to Tree Hill. Making up excuses about why she needed to go instead of him Leven was left shocked by what Jasper did and thus limply accepted this change of plans, and with a kiss to her forward she and William would say goodnight and following this Jasper and Leven left the tent. Leaving the tent Leven would follow Jasper trying to get him to explain himself, but he refused until she became quite agitated leading to an argument between the long time friends. Fighting loudly forced Jasper to take the argument into his tent where he would reveal that he did not trust her abilities to protect William considering how in love with him she was, and following this she would punch him in the face before returning to her own tent. The next day William, Jasper and the larger force from Forks would leave the city leaving Leven and a few hundred men at arms and knights to move south towards Castle Elric where she would go to defend the mistress of her beloved.

Lucas I have great need of you. Your father would turn us against each other, but you must understand that everything me to me and your sister is just what it is. I love her. I will not stop loving her, but I can also not stop loving my wife. I need you to move past all this, and do this for me. We are friends, whether or not you still believe that.
William Lovie III.

When it came to dividing up the responsibilities of the attack on the lands of the Malfoy's it was House Scott that was obviously a part of the planning of the Invasion of Westbridge as they were a Lord House and Lucas Scott was very popular with the young King of Lucerne in William, despite the fact the two were estranged due to an argument between them when Lucas finally learned of Brooke Scott, and the King. While this planning hinged on several different sections the overall plan back in Lucerne was one that needed to all work together in connection in order to leave the path open for the main army of the King to engage Westbridge itself. Several houses would move against the outskirt castles, and towns south of Westbridge, while House Lovie and its vassals alongside others moved against the southern half of the Westbridge entrance. This meant that House Scott was required to take control over the invasion of the town of Breadin to the south east of Westbridge. The town of Braedin was the ancestral home of the large House Curtley, and as such it was heavily defended by the forces of House Curtley who despite their disloyalty to House Malfoy they were not willing to simply give in to outside pressure. This meant that House Scott when they left for the long trek north they prepared to siege the town, and its keep that the Order of the Green Dragon said was so heavily defended. House Scott left Tree Hill alongside their vassal houses and the sworn houses and made the long trek northward towards the village of Pomer. House Oakheart would send large forces under the command of Anakin Oakheart of whom was joined by his son Lucas Oakheart of whom was increasingly hateful towards his father for continuing to not get revenge for the death of Thomas Oakheart by Dan Scott, and Lucas was using this as a chance to build fame outside of his father in order to start his own cadet branch of the family with his sister Leah Oakheart, but was playing his father into believing he was trying to rebuild their relationship. During the times they were riding Lucas rode his horse beside Marvin Scott a man who despite being his cousin he barely had known and he came to find that the two had a lot in common, and they begin to build a true relationship.

Loras. Dylan. You two are my cousins, and that means there is a trust between us that there just simply cannot be between those who are not blood. I need you to watch the Scotts. Especially Dan Scott. He is a twisted man, and he is not someone with whom I hold any level of trust. Given the chance I don't know what he's truly capable of.
William Lovie III.

When the Scott's were given command of the taking of Braedin William knew that with all the conflict between himself and the Scott's due to his affair with Brooke he would need someone to watch them, and thus he would recall his cousins from House Tyrell to Lucerne. It was decided that the majority of the forces of House Tyrell would follow the Scotts in the taking of the heavily populated and defended town of Braedin. Alongside assisting in the siege they would be placed in a position of watching Dan Scott in secret and seeing what manner of loyalty he showed during the campaign. Nearly four days into the trek he was greeted by the horse of Loras Tyrell riding up beside him, and the two of them came to ride together the rest of the way talking about random things. When they arrived they didn't join the main camp and instead passed west where they took control over the small village of Pomer where they left portions of House Faust to maintain its control and to make sure no one left the town and warned everyone else.

Scouting the Keep[]

Scouting Braedin
We had been given some small amounts of information about the town due to turncoats that had fled the forces of House Curtley but basically we were walking in blind before we scouted the city. It was all a part of the danger, but I knew I had to succeed or else everything north of us would fall apart.
Lucas Scott

Lucas Scott, and his cousin Marvin Scott were placed in a leadership role by William Lovie III. for the purposes of this siege and as such they took a small elite group of troops and during the middle of the night they went and surveyed the defenses of Breadin. When they reached the outskirts they were clearly able to see the true extent of the defenses, and realized quite quickly that the town was defended by what appeared to be a large keep that while it didn't surround the entire town it defended what must have been the House Curtley Estate alongside the center of the town. As they returned to camp and all the scouts begin to flood back they attempted to find the most simple way of taking the keep without taking horrendous casualties. Loras Tyrell advised that his scouts reported to him that the northern part of the town appeared to be undergoing some sort of construction and that he believed he could use this too his advantage and attack that section with House Tyrell and his sworn houses. While this was happening the entire castle had been surrounded, and thus Dan Scott would arrange for a parley with the members of House Curtley. Joining Dan in the meeting were the Patriarch's of the other vassals present and many of their heirs, while House Curtley sent their prince in the form of Barister Curtley II. and a few of the defense commanders to meet with them.

I knew that they would want us to join with their kingdom. It was there way. They took Fairmarket. They took the Riverlands. We were next, and I knew that if I wanted my people to live then I would be forced to do what they wanted. No help was coming from the Malfoy's. Perhaps it was time to accept a new leader.
Barister Curtley II.

As they were leaving for the meeting it was the Tyrell's that revealed to several others the true directive of William Lovie III. through his own writing, but they worked hard to keep that they had revealed this truth so that they could do as William wanted and see if Dan would be loyal. Dan Scott would outline the terms of surrender, and made sure to note that William Lovie had said that they would retain control of Braedin but they would need to swear oaths of loyalty to the Kingdom of Lucerne. Dan Scott though would deviate heavily from the offer made by the King when he lied and said that a demand had also been made to allow a garrison of their castle until the conflict was over, and he did this directly in front of Dylan Tyrell of whom knew the true orders from William but remained silent. The last terms were obviously not acceptable to the prince, and so he regrettably rejected the surrender and prepared to return to the castle. As he was leaving he was told by Loras Tyrell that the Scotts had planned to have him captured and all his men killed. Hearing this just as he was leaving Barrister would return to Braedin with the belief that House Tyrell was on their side more then House Scott, and because of this it would affect the situation with Braedin. When Barrister Curtley II. returned to Braedin he met with the commanders and discussed how House Tyrell had told him that he was in danger and that only they had kept him from being killed.

My news caused a split between the parts of the leadership that wanted to fight to the death, and the parts of the leadership that wanted to surrender without bloodshed. Seeing the size of the enemy I knew we couldn't win, and thus for our survival I made the decision to allow House Tyrell to save us.
Barrister Curtley II.

The leadership of Braedin led by House Curtley became divided under the opinions of though's that wanted to speak to this House Tyrell and get them to accept the surrender of the city, while the other side wanted to basically fight to the death under the leadership of Varin Curtley. Barrister the heir of House Curtley said that he had talked openly with the prince of House Tyrell and that this young man appeared very much to want them to survive. Others would argue that Barrister was being used, and just didn't know that. The argument raged throughout the night, and Barister Curtley the Lord of the city remained passive until finally siding against his heir and deciding to fight hoping relief would come from Westbridge. His son was utterly shocked that his father had turned against him, and fled the room with several of his loyalists for the northern gate. Barrister when he arrived

The Siege[]

Varin Curtley

Varin Curtley

An attack from all sides of the castle was exactly the only manner in which the siege was going to be succesful. My son Lucas advised me that we shouldn't leave the Tyrell's with so much time and space in the north but what could they do to stop my victory.
Dan Scott

With knowledge of how truly defended the town was they prepared for the siege the next day as they knew that was their time frame that they had to complete the siege and take control of the town. Lucas planned to have House Scott, and its Vassals move against the town from the south, while House Tyrell and its sworn houses moved against the northern side of the town. This plan was coupled with the silent constructions of his cousin Marin Scott who had constructed several secretive devices which he believed would allow the troops to enter the fortress unhindered from any fire that might come their way. These moveable siege towers were something he had devised while drawing and this would be the first time he had a chance to use them. As this was going on House Tyrell was already in position in the north, and thus was sitting waiting for what Mace hoped would be a message from House Curtley. While the north was peaceful the southern side which was defended by Varin Curtley was provoking the actions of House Scott. Varin had his men fire shots into the field in front of where the House Scott men were mobilizing, and blew his horns all night long to try and keep the preperations from being made.

The Tyrells Move[]

House Tyrell Moving
Marin was dithering about with his fantasy siege machines, and I was going to take the castle before any of them knew what was happening. I sent a single scout to the northern gate with a letter. A letter which would mean victory for me, and another slap in the face of the Scotts.
Mace Tyrell II.

As the forces of House Scott moved their forces into position for an attack the following day, the forces of House Tyrell would move another plan into action. Mace Tyrell devised a plan where he would take control of the town through the relationship that he had built with the leadership of House Curtley, and his son Loras had played the game perfectly to the point that during the morning Barrister Curtley II. would sneak out of the northern gate and meet with the leadership of House Tyrell. The plan was for House Tyrell to enter the northern gate peacefully, and do this before House Scott sacked the city Barrister would lead the front echolons of House Tyrell into the gate, and they would move into the cities northern side at nearly the same time that House Scott made their attack on the southern gate.

The Fall of Braedin[]

House Tyrell Victory
I alongside my men pushed the machines to the walls, and the gate in the belief that there was a battle to be fought, but in fact the battle was over.
Lucas Scott

As the forces of House Tyrell moved into Braedin the forces of House Scott moved against the southern gate completely unaware that fighting was happening on the southern wall. The forces of House Scott moved slowly across the field using their siege machines that blocked fire, and thought this was the reason for the lack of firepower against them, but instead it was because the southern gate was falling to House Tyrell. As they reached the gatehouse the gate door opened, and Mace Tyrell II. walked towards the machines letting them know that the battle was over. Dan Scott, and Mace Tyrell II. would nearly come to a duel, but Loras, and Lucas were able to calm the situation down, and losses were minimal outside of the defenders who lost significant numbers in the suprise attack by House Tyrell.
