Gaius Tyranus is the son of Nimerius, and Milonia Tyranus making him a member of and the long time heir of House Tyranus, and a member of House Acauna through his mother.

Gaius Tyranus would be born the third child but first son of King Numerius Tyranus and thus at the time of his birth he became the first in the line of succession for the Kingdom of Tilea and his birth put an end to years of civil war which had raged due to the succession crisis that had plagued House Tyranus. Gaius Tyranus would grow up in the Tilean capital of Trantio where he was raised by his uncle and his mother as his father spent all his time praying and working with the church which had become his only real passion following the violence of the Second Tilean Succession Conflict. Gaius Tyranus would at the age of sixteen be betrothed to Mirra Asmussen of whom was the third child and second daughter of King Markus Asmussen IV., and this marriage was seen as a significant boon for Tilea as historically they had been at odds with the Kindgom of Slovenia, but Alida would not be sent to Tilea for two years following this betrothal due to the intervention of his mother. Gaius would be nearly killed at the age of seventeen in an attempted assassination but was saved by a peasant family who died in the process but the families daughter Septimia survived and was taken in by House Tyranus becoming a member of the household. Gaius would become increasingly infatuated with Septimia and this would cause him to join with his mother in further delaying the betrothal to Mirra Asmussen through taking a one year command at Fort Capidava where he would bring along Septimia and several of his closest friends.
