House Strong is the ancestoral, and longtime ruler of the large Westros city of Harrenhall. For centuries the members of House Strong have ruled over the city of Harrenhall along with its surrounding region. They have always done this through the system they call the "Rule of Three", where in three powerful members of the House rule over their specific areas of the city, and must coexist or the House roots them out.
House Strong is led by a triumverate style of leadership that was created in order to control the vassals of the house.
House Strong would become first powerful as they moved into Westros alongside much of the other Goths at the time. During this immigration they were resisted heavily by Dole of whom the Dolish people were Germanic but they were extremely nationalistic in an almost Teutonic way and thus were not willing to exchange land. House Strong would gather the Goths with them and would lead them southward where they would establish the city of Harrenhall. The Dolish would continue to attack the Goths of Harrenhall for many years leading to the Goths and Dolish to engage in the War of the Broken Tree. The conflict would ravage the Dolish and lead to their extreme decline in power in the region, and on the other side the forces of House Strong were more powerful then they had ever been before. The rule of House Strong has been damaged recently with the city of Harrenhall coming under siege from the former vassal house in House Seaworth who are supported heavily by the Iron Islands.

The First Harrenhall-Dole War[]

The Destruction of Dole Hundreds of Thousands would perish in the fighting. In the end though Katniss Everdeen my family died out there, and the reason they died...the reason all of them died was because your father was a coward. You will pay for his crimes. I will make you pay for his crimes. |

Dole was always an enemy of House Strong, since the first days of House Strong entering Westros the Dolish people had for whatever reason come to absolutely hate the members of Harrenhall who they believed looked down on the Dolish and their way of living. Dole and Harrenhall having had a long and dirty history between eachother and this usually ignites into war over some meaningless town between the two or some stupid insult leveled at the other Houses. In this case the leader of Dole at the time ordered the murder of several Harrenhall tradesmen in an attempt to control trade in the center of the Dolish Peninsula. Robert Strong the leader of the Harrenhall city and kingdom demanded revenge, but was calmed by his best friend Davos Seaworth, and instead sent diplomats to the Dolish to try and discuss how to end the conflict peacefully. Instead of talking the Dolish would execute the diplomats and send their bodies in pieces back to the capital. These murders were too much for even Davos to argue against and Robert was finally able to rouse enough support to lead a revenge killing in which Robert Strong rode with two thousand horses and burned down an entire Dole village. The killing would be hundreds, as the Dolish were unspuspecting, and Robert burned several more villages, before they finally stopped and returned to Harrenhall.
With this act the two went to war, and the war was at first heavily favored by the Dolish who enjoyed a massive superiority in numbers but as time went on the superior skills, and equipment of Harrenhall coupled with brilliant maneuvers by Stannis Strong led the Dolish to begin to lose the war. In one particular battle the forces of House Strong were led by Robert Strong with some three thousand cavalry while his brother Stannis, and Davos Seaworth led another two thousand cavalry and three thousand infantry around the side, and during this battle the two forces defeated an army of some thirty thousand Dolish. Following this defeat the Strong forces would move against the cultural capital of Kingsgrave where they would easily enter the un-walled city and they took cultural artifacts and basically burned the capital of the Dolish people to the ground. This series of defeats led to the Dolish besieging the House Strong town of Wurzberg where they besieged it with well over one hundred thousand men against fewer then thirty thousand on the defenders side. The siege went on for well over a year with the Dolish unable to properly besiege the town and taking increasingly large casualties to both the battle and even larger to desertions as the clan leaders returned to their homes for the winter. As the Dolish retreated from the siege the large forces of Harrenhall who were barely even damaged moved themselves and begin harassing the much larger force as it made its way back to Dole. Every time the Dolish attempted to battle the forces of Harrenhall they retreated and since the command of the Dolish was weaker many clans walked in wrong directions and were massacred as they drifted from the main force. This continued for weeks until completely exhausted and nearly at the point of breaking the forces of Dole stood their ground and a large land battle took place which led the destruction of much of the Dolish forces and minimal casualties to the Harrenhall forces. Treaty of Kingsgrave[]The massacres of the retreating Dolish forces were seen differently by many among the armies, but either way the leader of the Dolish was dead during the battle, and the remaining clan leaders sent out word to the Harrenhall army that they wished to parlay, and with the cavalry army of Stannis Strong still running rampant in northern Dole the meeting was to be held at Kingsgrave. With no bargaining power left and a well organized army on its doorstep the Dolish leadership would surrender unconditionally to the forces of Harrenhall. With the surrender they gave two major concessions to the forces of Harrenhall including the independence of two large regions west of Harrenhall in the form of the Realm of Dolentia, and the Republic of Karrenhall of which both were led by puppets for the forces of Harrenhall. |
The Death of Heer Strong[]
The Death of Heer Strong You don't have to die here cousin. Live your life. Choose to live. Don't choose death. |

It would be the victorious Renley Strong that would enter the gates of Harrenhall surrounded by Kassidy Kenward, and Darrius Kenward of whom were the two most important people to him, and at the gates he would be met by his immediate family alongside many other members of House Strong including Heer Strong of whom had been whispered to by many that Renley had returned to take his position in the house. This story would lead to Heer to act out during his return embarrassing Renley through several insults which only ended when Robert commanded the two separated and then took Renley away. Renley Strong would attempt to speak to Heer after the difficult first meeting following his return, but when they met at Heer's home the conversation didn't just go badly it nearly came to blows as Heer was completely unwilling to have peace between the two. As Renley turned to walk away Heer attempted to stab him from behind but the murder was stopped by Kassidy of whom saw the dagger and screamed out. Coming to the commotion was Stannis Strong and the second eldest of the generation would decide the two would duel, and following the duel there would be no more fighting between the two.
Following Renley knocking the sword from the hand of Heer Strong the fight would be ended with the laughter of Robert Strong of whom cheered loudly for his brother, and following this Orys Strong would go to the side of Heer and whisper something to him which caused Heer to grab the sword from a guard and charge at Renley from behind. he would duel his cousin Heer Strong and during this duel his cousin Heer would be killed causing quite the uproar among the nobles of Harrenhall but also greatly increasing the scope of power within Renly's grip.

House Seaworth had been for much of their history the second or at the worst third strongest house in Harrenhall behind only House Strong, and at times House Gronn. This position was cherished by the leadership of House Seaworth for much of their history, and they were rewarded with control over the port of Harrenhall which was hugely important to the cities power. This power they had been given though for them always felt as if it was a slight as they secretly wanted total control, and this became an even more blatent belief under Davos Seaworth who was an honorable man but also a man that wanted more of everything he could get. At first Davos had despite his silent wishes remained loyal to House Strong and simply bided his time hoping that good things found their way to his house but as time went on his patience disapeared. In this lack of patience he would turn to his one loyal vassal in House Horpe and he would turn his forces completely against the House Strong loyalty of their history. The growing discontent of House Seaworth reached its pinacle and the basic end of the line, when they attempted to gain influence in the small House Jare, and when this was discovered Robert Strong had Halten Seaworth put in jail as punishment. With this imprisonment the leadership of House Seaworth came to the conclusion that House Strong were tyrants that they should take the mantle of power in Harrenhall from. They decided to do this by reopening the channels that had existed with the Iron Islands before they had cut ties with such rebellious thoughts.
In order to establish this alliance once again Davos Seaworth would send three of his sons in the form of Dale Seaworth, Maric Seaworth, and Allard Seaworth, alongside his sister Kateryn Seaworth in order to strike the deal while he himself stayed near the leadership of House Strong to make sure they were not catching on to his plotting.
As the plans came through and the Iron Islands agreed to finance and support the invasion in returrn for House Seaworth becoming the vassal of House Greyjoy. This vassal position would mean that they would become a member of the Iron Islands but at the same time be in complete control over Harrenhall. Obviously both sides did not intend to actually go through with this but either way the deal was struck and the Iron Islands prepared to send thousands of troops to Harrenhall in order to take control of the city. The Iron Fleet would arrive in the night and when Davos Seaworth saw the giant horizon covered with their ships he would in that moment come to truly understand what he had done, and would delay giving the command to start the ambush leading to an argument between himself and his sons of which other then Dale Seaworth worked to convinse Davos that this was the right thing to do. After minutes of argument Allard convinsed him to order his forces to lead the ambush leading to the massacre at the docks that would come about. Fall of the Docks[]
Following the command of Davos Seaworth for his forces to execute the betrayal across the city the docks would become the first major source of the betrayal with his forces moving swiftly against positions of power at the docks. Allard Seaworth had been working tirelessly to bring Zooey Strong to his side of things and get her to suppport the Seaworth claim and in his twisted mind he came to believe that one of the main ways to do this was to eliminate that which she felt close to in House Strong in the form of her immediate family and most notably in her closest siblings in the form of Heather, and Kyle Strong. Allard would days before the Siege of Harrenhall happened create a situation where Kyle Strong was at the Lighthouse with a diminished garrison, while Heather Strong was tricked into believing that her betrothed in Dontis Peach was planning a suprise for her on the day of the siege and thus she was in a small dockhouse waiting for him when the siege was too begin. |
Battle at the Marketplace This is where this divide ends. After we take this city there is nothing stopping the Kingdom of Lucerne from becoming exactly what we always dreamed it would be. |
---|
Battle at the Marketplace[]
From the very beginning of the assault on Harrenhall there were several major targets in the form of the northern residence, the House Tarth forces, and then most importantly was the Marketplace which was the simplest and only real way of moving the large invading forces into the southern axis of the city. As the Docks fell the forces of House Seaworth begin attempting to take control over the rest of the city, which begin with the movement towards the Marketplace. With forces heading north towards the North Yards and east towards the Factory District the forces of House Seaworth send the largest group of their forces towards the Opera House, and the Market Gate. If they took Market Gate they would thus also control The Market District and thus cut the city in two. Stannis prepares the defenses[]
Stannis Strong was in the Harrenhall markets with his personal guard, as well as Vesendria, Shelensia, and Lonnie Barris when the news of the docks being under attack filtered its way to the markets. As he prepared to leave for the front, he heard the sound of commotion in the downstairs of the building he was in before the sounds of fighting roared out. As he opened the door he came face to face with a man he did not know but was sporting a massive beard and a large axe. Without saying a word the man swung the axe at him, and the two begin to fight. Stannis Strong was the better fighter, and after less then a minute of fighting he had killed the axe wielding man. Going downstairs he found his men had slain dozens of attackers on his location of whom were clearly attempting to have him killed before he could mobilize against the front line. With this knowledge Stannis led his small force towards the docks, while on the way gathering together every soldier or able man he came across. By the time he arrived at the area of the docks he had some 200 men with him, but he looked out over the docks and realized they were lost.
With the realizing that the docks were gone Stannis retreated back to the Marketplace and begin setting up a perimeter around the area west of the docks that he would defend and thus force a bottleneck that the attacking forces could not bypass. Stannis had less then ten minutes but in that time he was able to fortify two large towers with archers and barricade two streets so that the only way through was through the one street he lined his troops in. His main defense was around the iconic Opera house which had a size that meant his archers could be defended with near impunity, and the attacks would have to slug through a brutal open area with no protection. Stannis when he received reinforcements in the from of House Strong loyalists arriving from the southern part of the city he would send Renley Strong his brother to defend the western markets, while he sent his nephews Jackson Strong, and Bardin Strong to defend the eastern market. Also one of his commanders was his close friend Lonnie Barris of whom was in charge of defending the eastern side of the Opera House, and Lonnie was joined by his son Donald Barris in this command. Battle of the Opera House[]
The defenses of Stannis were attacked by the forces of the favored son of Davos Seaworth in Maric Seaworth along with his cousin John Seaworth. Maric was a competent leader but he was about to enter a battle against one of the greatest military minds in the area in the form of Stannis Strong. As the forces of Maric moved at the Opera House the forces of Stannis made no attempt to shoot from far away and waited until the forces of Maric Seaworth were right on top, and when this happened they begin unleashing a deadly wave of archer fire to the troops that were completely in the open. During this ambush nearly the entire force including John Seaworth were killed but the rest under Maric Seaworth moved forward and attempted to get by the western side of the Opera House. When they arrived there they continued to lose men to the constant fire of the archers, and eventually they became bogged down in the middle of the street when they found cover with a series of wagons that once had been manned by the merchants. As they stayed hidden to the eastern side they were then wiped out when the archers on the western side fired as well killing Maric as well as the rest of his forces. For the remainder of the day small forces would attack the Opera House as the chaotic nature of the battle meant men followed plans that were now moot with the massacre of Maric and his forces. Of the remaining chaotic attacks on the opera house was one particularly stupid but also bloody fight on the east side when a group of thirty men led by Tronnel Saltcliff attacked the defenses of Lonnie Barris.
The forces of Tronnel Saltcliff consisted of twenty Ironborn and ten Harrenhall soldiers and had been commanded to attack the market alongside the forces of Maric Seaworth but had become bogged down in the rape and pillage at the docks and thus were delayed nearly two hours arriving instead well after Maric had been killed. Seeing the situation was no longer in flux it was his lieutenant that argued that they should stand down but the headstrong Tronnel caught sight of a damaged window and believed they could get inside through the window and then get to the roof where they could raise the Ironborn flag and through this bring about a counter assault. Tronnel would lead the group from the front and the shock of the assault considering the quiet that had disintegrated on the front meant that their charge reached the opera house window with only the loss of two of their number to the archers in the opera house. Entering the opera house there was a brutal fight for control of the staircase allowing entrance to the roof and during the fight Tronnel's forces lost half their number but badly injured Lonnie Barris which broke the defense for a time. With the defenses wavering it was Donald Barris who stepped in killing an Ironborn guarding the rear of the forces of Tronnel and with this he pushed into them gathering the defenders to him and stopping the rout. Battle of Market West[]
As the forces of the Iron Islands moved alongside the forces of House Seaworth Victarion Greyjoy led the assault of these forces against the western section of Markets gate. Joined in his assault by Quentin Loken II, and Erich Loken his attack happened at the same time that the forces of Maric, and John Seaworth were massacred in their attack against the Opera House. As Victarion moved his forces forward he felt unease as he moved through the streets and closed in on the western market. This unease led him to stop the force, and have the forces that he led from his home on the islands to wait for the Harrenhall recruits to go first. As these raw recruits moved ahead of his personal force he was able to watch as the troops of Renley Strong caught them in a crossfire that in only a few minutes was able to effectively trap the entire force. With his own force at risk now with the destruction of the raw recruits he took the strategy of slowly going through the streets as opposed to going through the street. In these house to house battles the numbers and close combat skill of the Iron Islands troops meant that they were in the advantage and were able to make their way to the market with less problems. The defenders realizing that they could not win this house to house fighting would fall back from these forward positions retreating to their main defensive points overlooking the Blacksmith Square. As the Ironborn reached the market both sides realized that the Blacksmith square was the primary goal as it would allow the side who held it to force the attack of the other. In this way Renly through much of his force into the battle of the Blacksmith square and with the constant fire of his archers on the Iron Islands troops as they attempted to cross the road to the square he was able to take control.
With his chances of success getting slimmer and slimmer Victarion led his personal gaurd and much of the remaining troops he had in one last assault against the blacksmith while the rest of his force charge up the street at the archers first. The force attacking the archers was massacred but this delay allowed him to reach the blacksmith unharmed and a brutal close combat battle ensued where Victarion saw victory in his sights. As the forces of Renley were about to break ranks a force of reinforcements led by Gendry Strong arrived and the two combined forces were able to force the retreat of Victarion, and with these reinforcements having trapped the forces of the Ironborn it was Quentin Loken II. that led a crazed charge at Gendry Strong which let the Ironborn escape when Gendry's men pulled back to save Gendry who was about to be killed by Quentin. |
Lucernian Intervention in Harrenhall[]
Lucernian Counter-Attack You came to our lands and reaved. These are the consequences of you entering the lands of the Dragon. |

Following the capture of Catelyn Starke and the deaths of many during the ambushes that followed the rise of Euron Greyjoy it was the decision of William Lovie III. that revenge needed to be struck. The Ironborn were at this point becoming stretched quite thin as they were still embroiled in a siege at Harrenhall, but alongside that they had assaulted the Sunset Islands where they maintained a large garrison now, as well as launching a major assault of Seagard which left their forces severely diminished, and it was in this position that William would make his move against the Iron Islands. Calling on the Order of the Violet Dragon, and the Order of the Red Dragon he would send two brigades of the Waffen Red Dragon Army to Harrenhall, but he also sent both Harlequin, and Helaquin (accompanied by their Whelplings) as well to the contested city of Harrenhall. Mathew Clegane was the Major in command of the 11th Lole Brigade, while he was joined by Alester Floren in command of the 3rd Brightwater Brigade and together the Majors in the Waffen Army would share joint command and join the forces of Harlequin, and Helaquin who were in charge of the Violet's that were sent to the city. While Mathew Clegane had been given orders to assist House Strong in capturing the city and evicting the Ironborn from the city, silently revenge was also in play as the assassins were commanded to kill as many of the Greyjoy's that were present in Harrenhall as they possibly could.
The Lucernian force would travel by heavy combat boat from Fairmarket thus avoiding once again the Trident of which was not blocking ships but might reveal their departure. Landing in Boralus breifly they would pick up some sixty troops from House Proudmoore of whom were to join on the campaign, and some one hundred troops of several other Kul Tiras Houses. Travelling northward up the Rhine they went passed the Lorderon pass and took the northern river through to the Strom River where they then went south and skirted near the Stone Islands before landing west of Harrenhall. Unoticed by any of the Ironborn forces they would enter the city from the western gate of which was controlled by the forces of House Strong and there arrival was met by great applause and happiness. Since the turning of House Tarth to the forces of House Strong things had been going very well for the Strong forces, but the leadership of Euron Greyjoy had flooded Harrenhall with Ironborn. Also accompanying these Ironborn were the recently captured forces of the Sunset Islands of whom had sent some two thousand troops to Harrenhall under the command of the honorable Ser Gunthor of the Sunset Islands. Due to the increase in Ironborn forces the Strong forces had lost control of increasing amounts of land, and the fortress market had been ground down by siege machines brought in by Ser Gunthor. Arriving in the city the Violet's would move away from the main force and meet with Renly Strong of whom had been placed in command of the assasins missions in Harrenhall
With Ser Gunthor and the main force of the Sunset Islands attacking the marketplace, it was Robert Strong, and the Lucernians that turned and moved towards the are east of Fogburn Keep and south of the Tarly lands. Attacking with nearly two thousand troops of House Strong and the one thousand troops of the two brigades of Lucernians they were able to overwhelm the defenders that were in the area, and take control of the Hanged Man. The Hanged Man was built onto a peak located there, and was a heavily defendable area, and with enough men garrisoning it would be nigh untakeable. The White Emproium fell that same day despite reinforcements coming in from the main holdings, and retreating forces bolstering the defenders. With the capture of the White Emporium some six hundred of the Seaworth forces were captured alongside almost four hundred Ironborn of whom died heavily as they were not often to surrender. Campaign of Death[]
With the capture of the eastern block of Harrenhall the Ironborn were flooded into the area to try and retake the east from the outnumbered Strong forces. While this was happening Harlequin, and Helaquin moved into the northern section of Harrenhall near Grightwood Keep, where Aeron Greyjoy II. and his family were staying as he commanded the attack on Helldor Castle. Harlaquin and Helaquin would infiltrate the keep alongside all thirty of their whelpings and killed their way through the gaurds and servents in order to reach the sleeping quarters of Aeron Greyjoy II. Aeron would wake to the sound of fighting outside of his door, and the moment he opened the door sword in hand a dagger went into his head killing him. His wife and young son hid in a closet, but were quickly discovered and brought out and killed beside Aeron. With the murders completed Harlaquin, Helaquin and the whelpings would attach wolf pelts to the three bodies then hung them off the highest tower of Grightwood keep as a warning to the other Greyjoy's about what they had done to the Starke's.
The deaths of Aeron and his family would greatly shock the leadership of the Greyjoy's in the city, and despite Dagon assuring them that gaurds wouldn't matter the number of gaurds on each Greyjoy were greatly increased. With this in mind Dagon attempted to send away Aeron's sister before she too met a grisly fate, but the boat she was to leave on was sunk, and the captain that was meant to take the ship out was found decapitated with a wolf's pelt nailed to his chest. Dagon who had been planning to send away his own wife and child was now forced to accept they would have to deal with the assassins another way, and begin to plan for this. While this was happening Ser Gunthor continued to attack the Market and was able to push into the Opera House and after hours of brutal melee the Opera House finally fell to the forces of Ser Gunthor of which forced the abandoning of the defences around the Opera House as they were now able to be targeted by the attackers from the Opera House Windows. With victory growing at the marketplace Dagon made the next move when he begin marshalling as many forces as possible and with this Dagon would lead some three thousand troops against Helldor Castle in a battle that would become known as the Second Battle of Helldor Castle. Second Battle of Helldor Castle[]

House Seaworth is a large gothic house from the Westros city of Harrenhall.
For nearly their entire history they have been one of the banner houses of the ruling House Strong, but after a series of decisions that appeared to weaken House Seaworth the leadership of House Seaworth turned against House Strong, and through their lot in with the Iron Islands. This change in loyalty led to the disasterous, and painful Siege of Harrenhall, and subsequent to that the nearly constant battle of Harrenhall for control.
House Seaworth has been involved in the port of Harrenhall for nearly their entire history and this led to their culture being somewhat different then the majority of Harrenhall, which led to their being more closely resembling the houses of the Iron Islands.
