The Kingdom of Dore is one of the six major nations within the Empire of Tevinter where it located in southern Thedas directly north of the Kingdom of Anderfells, and south of fellow Tevinter nation in the form of the Kingdom of Shiver. The Kingdom of Dore is extremely close diplomatically with the Kingdom of Shiver of whom share by far the closest relationship of any of the Kingdoms within the Empire of Tevinter. The Kingdom of Dore's population is centered around the capital of Dor'ten of which is the ancient Numenorian city of which was first founded by the Empire of Numeron and still stands today remaining one of the more ancient of the northern Atlantian cities.
The Kingdom of Dore is dominated by the Atlantians of whom were able to protect themselves following the Downfall of Numeron due to the Realm of Shiver to their north, and Realm of Rivain to their north and this mutual protection, and similar ethnicity has always made the center of Tevinter close diplomatically.
The Kingdom of Dore was first founded following the Downfall of Numeron and while at first there was some thought in Dor'ten to capturing the other Atlantian regions in the form of Shiver, and southward they would instead form an extremely strong relationship with the Shiver Realm and remain isolated.
