The Kingdom of Ukraine is a very large Ukrainian Kingdom located in the region of Ukraine where it dominates much of the region stretching far to the east of Europe. The Kingdom of Ukraine is one of the furthest south expansion of the forces of Chaos, and its loss to the forces of Chaos was a terrible blow that most of Europe has not truly come to understand the consequences of as of yet. The Kingdom of Ukraine was originally dominated by Slavic Paganism, but this was overturned by the rise of Christianity of which took control of the Kingdom of Ukraine under the banner of the Nestorian Church, and this held sway over the land for its history until the Empire of Rus invaded the land spreading Chaos into Ukraine.

The Kingdom of Ukraine is an absolute Monarchy of which is ruled over by the Royal Family of House Orlov of whom ruled over the lands for generations with there power being untouched until the arrival of the Empire of Rus changed the government of the land. Following the arrival of the Empire of Rus the monarchy was maintained but while the monarchy maintained complete dominance of the ruling of the Kingdom of Ukraine the monarchy was administered by the Archduke of Ukraine of whom was sent by Rus to control the direction of Ukraine. Beneath the Monarchy of Ukraine stands the next tier of government in the form of the Princes of Ukraine of whom are the equivalent of Dukes and rule over the different states within the Kingdom of Ukraine answering only to the monarchy of whom has the ability to revoke titles. 

The Kingdom of Ukraine has not always been historically a Ukrainian dominated Kingdom, but for much of its history the Kingdom had large populations of Germanic groups who fled the region in two waves with the first being the Visigoths fleeing Ukraine following the arrival of the Ukrainians and the second being prior to or during the Great Migration but following the Invasion by the Rus these tribes would be pushed westward leaving the Germans near gone from Ukraine and replaced by an expanding population of Rus.

House Orlov would come to rise following the collapse of the Kieven Empire, and formed themselves from their homeland on the Crimerian Peninsula and spread out northward taking control of much of the remnants of the Kieven Empire, and forming the Kingdom of Ukraine.

Monarchy

The Monarchy of the Kingdom of Ukraine is the top echelon of the power structure of the Kingdom of Ukraine and controls the passing of all laws, and the appointment of posts to the different positions, and the only place that the Monarchy is devoid of influence is over the Imperial Council, and the Holy Kiev Temple of Tzeneech. The Monarchy follows the succession laws of Absolute Cognatic Tanistry and in this the ruler and each lower rank vassal (i.e. Hetman) can nominate a successor from among themselves and legitimate children and siblings of the ruler, and this candidate takes over all titles of the Monarchy. The succession of a female leader is on the same level as the candidacy of a male leader and this came to take place following the First Ukrainian Civil War where the daughter and son of the King of Ukraine fought a civil war and the daughter won leader to her rise as Queen and changing from Agnatic to Absolute Cognatic in terms of Gender laws.

Beneath the Monarchy of Ukraine stands the next tier of government in the form of the Princes of Ukraine of whom are the equivalent of Dukes and rule over the different states within the Kingdom of Ukraine answering only to the monarchy of whom has the ability to revoke titles.

Vecha

The Vecha or the Imperial Council was the name for council filled with the princes and the Boyars of Ukraine of whom have a proportional voting right in the Vecha depending on the historical and changing amount of votes their specific control region had.

Society

The social structure of the Kingdom of Ukraine has historically consisted of the following five groups of whom dominated the social structure of the Kingdom of Ukraine:

  • Nobility
  • Cossacks
  • Clergy : The Black, or monastic, Orthodox clergy enjoyed a very high status in the Kingdom of Ukraine, controlling more then 17% of the Kingdom's land. Monasteries were exempt from taxes and at no times were peasants bound to monasteries allowed to forgo their duties. The Orthodox hierarchy became as wealthy and powerful as the most powerful nobles. The white, or married, Orthodox clergy were also exempt from paying taxes. Priests' sons often entered the clergy or the Cossack civil service. It was not uncommon for nobles or Cossacks to become priests and vice versa
  • Merchant class
  • Peasants

Post Rus

Following the Kingdom of Ukraine falling to the forces of Chaos and becoming dominated politically by the Rus two classes were added to this and one replaced with the new groups including the following :

  • Royal Family
  • Imperial Council : The Imperial Council was the name for the Russian Governmental influence over the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Ukraine. Centered out of Kiev the Imperial Council had the ability to pass laws, and organize effectively as its own government but always required the rubber stamp of the royal family and were responsible for the nature of the puppet state that came to rise under their influence.
