The Southern Trolloc War

The Southern Trolloc War I'm going to show you Leliana that I am someone that can be trusted. I am your loyal friend.

“I shall not disapoint you father. I shall end the Trollocs domination in the southwest and return home to you a true knight of Alcase.” — Leliana Orsinio Following being given command of her forces for the mission in the south Leliana would leave with her Rangers towards the city of Molsheim where she planned to raise forces and then move towards Obernie where the trouble was said to be mainly beggining within. “Lady Orsinio they have burned two villages to the ground west of here, and your timing could not have been more perfect. Your forces are very much needed against the beasts.” — Raymond Errol Meeting the Grey One “Milady you are the princess of this entire kingdom. Your life is far too important to meet with the beasts. Let us instead of sending you send arrows to show our intent towards them.” — Raymond Errol It was while this planning for the invasion of the Trolloc forests was going on that the Trolloc forces would mass themselves all around the walls of Obernie signaling the bells to toll all over the city preparing it for assault. Hearing the bells the council would depart the palace and move to the walls where Leliana would be at the main gate when she looked out seeing a single figure walk from the massive Trolloc horde towards the walls of Obernie. Completely surrounded by thousands upon thousands of Trolloc the fortress was as silent as a crypt but this ended when the figure standing alone on the road was joined by five other Trolloc of whom all stuck white flags into the ground and then knelt behind the cloaked figure. Lord Mayor Raymond Errol would suggest they fire on the figure, but this overruled by Leliana of whom said that she would meet with the robed figure and find out who was leading the Trolloc and what they wanted. “Call me Eolsath...You and I are destined to do this forever. Our fates intertwined and it will only be at the end that you will understand everything I have done for you.” — Eolsath As Leliana and her companions finally reached the robed figure and the Five Trolloc she would stop her horse in front of the robed man and watched as he lifted his head staring at her. When his face was revealed the horses nearly lost nerve as he was revealed as appearing mainly human but having no eyes or ears and a near death like color to its skin. Towering over the entire group he must have been nearly eight feet tall, and it wasn't long before Leliana trying to conceal her teror would demand to know what the creature wanted of them. Tears of Allemeni We were once a people united by culture and a shared belief in growing together. The Numenorians came and shook that unity. The Germans came and destroyed whatever remained. Now we are lone wolves crying out for help. A sad end it seems for a once great people.. "Hello Lady Orsinio. I am glad to see that it was you who came to greet me." I could feel Mathias move to beside me as the perfect gentlemen knight that he was the moment he sensed my discomfort. "You have me at a disadvantage Eolsath...I do not..." "You do not know me and yet you wonder how I am so aware of who you are." "Yes." "All in good time Milady." He pushed the hood completely from his head revealing that besides not having eyes he also had no ears and it was the strangest thing I had ever seen in my life. As if sensing my discomfort his lips contorted into an almost sad appearance. "I am sorry that my appearance is so frightening Milady but understand that there is no one who hates it more then I do...trust me on that." "What reason would I have to trust...someone who surrounds a city of my Kingdom with a vast army." "This army is of no threat to you Milady." "I do not understand." "Our fates Milady are intertwined. We were fated to be at this spot on this day." "Stop speaking riddles and just come right out and say what is true." "The truth." The creature twisted its face into what I can only assume was the closest it got to a smile before calming itself and looking at me once again. "It has been so long Milady since I thought I could be truthful." The creature would take out a knife and when he did I pulled out my sword and Mathias lunged immediatly in front of me, but the creature stepped back towards the other Trolloc and slashed one across the neck with such force it took his head nearly off. "The truth Lady Orsinio is that this...this creature is the thing that I despise above almost all things." The Trolloc slumped to the ground gushing blood from the wound, but the other Trolloc made no attempt to move and didn't even seem to realize that anything had happened to the partner. "Why did you do that?" "I did that to show you where my loyalty lies." "Why would we trust you. Your are not even human." "It is very much a quagmire I find myself in Mathias." He put the knife back into his shieth and his face stared directly at me. There was no eyes staring at me but I could feel him staring. "This look is the cost I have been forced to pay for being born." "What Magi created you Eolsath?" "No Magic Leliana created me. It was hatred that birthed me." He stepped backwards away from me and stabbed the other Trolloc in the arm to which once again the Trolloc made no effort to resist or move away. "One day Leliana I will tell you who my mother was. One day I will tell you of the beauty and kindness that was my mother. But today I must move this along." "Move what along?" "My plans." "Care to enlighten us?" "I am going to launch my entire army against the walls of this city." "I don't unders..." "They will charge at the walls. They will have no means of entering. No ladders. No towers. No battering rams. They will charge the walls trying in a hopeless way to enter the city." "That doesn't help me understand." "I need to show you how real my faith in you is. I have built this Trolloc army for one purpose. That purpose has never wavered." "Why did you build it?" "I build it to show you how helpful I can be. Today I will give you a victory that everyone in Europe will hear about. Today you will annihilate an army of Trollocs. You will clear this entire region of Trollocs, but in my opinion more important today you will understand that I am not just an ally. I am a true and loyal friend." "What do you want?" "Look at me Leliana." "What I want is obvious. I want Revenge. I want to make these monsters understand that the world of good can deliver consequences to the unjust. I want to show the world that being corrupted does not make for an easier life." Following their discussion and discovery that Eolsath wanted to help them she would return into Obernie where she warned the commanders that the Trollocs were preparing to assault the walls and the attack would happen the following morning. First Battle of Obernie “I never understood what he wanted. He sent them to the slaughter and as the Trolloc died I couldnt help but think back to his final words. Had this been simply a means to give me the fame I now saw myself surrounded by.” — Leliana Orsinio Meeting the Grey One Battle of Iron Peak Main Article : Battle of Iron Peak “We had just let out a sigh from our victory over the Trolloc when the news came in of the coming of the Orcs. Could the world have not given us a minute to enjoy victory before it gave us defeat.” — Leliana Orsinio The Battle of Iron Peak was the first and eventually only true battle of Leliana Orsinios southern campaign as the previous two battles were more massacres then true battles. With the victorious forces of Obernie celebrating with large feasts and the King on his way to celebrate with his hero of a daughter the news reached Obernie that the western town of Clerhoun had been sacked by a large force of Orcs, and this army was now on its way to Obernie. “When Saverne, and the Carolingions arrived at the walls I was so relieved I just kissed the first person I saw. Glaurung knows it just had to be Mathias. It wasnt enough the Orcs were going to kill us now I had to deal with a political scandal as well.” — Leliana Orsinio The defenders of the city held strong and managed to hold off the orcs for three days, and on the fourth day the first army arrived commanded by the forces of Saverne and a alied force from Carolingion and led by its Lord Mayor in. With these reinforcements the city held out without much difficulty for another week before a concentrated assault by the Orcs broke through the western gatehouse and was only repulsed with heavy losses.
