Mace Tyrell II. is the son of Mastir, and Olenna Tyrell making him a member of and Patriarch of House Tyrell. Mace Tyrell has three siblings in Mina, Janna, and Lydia Tyrell of whome Mina, and Janna were killed during the Fall of Tree Hill, and his final sister Janna was badly injured during the conflict and is now blind. Mace Tyrell is married to Aleria Tyrell and with her he has four children in the form of Loras, Margeary, Garlan, and Willas Tyrell of which his son Willas is the heir of House Tyrell despite the fact that he is crippled, his son Garlan is one of the greatest fighters of the land but has been overshadowed by Loras, his son Loras is one of the most celebrated tournament knights in Lucerne, and his daughter Margeary is involved in an affair with Nathan Scott which has come to define her.

He and his wife have always put their house's growth above their own and this has meant that the jewelry and personal items of the two have suffered in favor of increasing the House's economic strength. This need to increase the house is just the way of House Tyrell who has gained a reputation of doing anything it takes to gain more control.

Mace Tyrell was the third child of Mastir and Olenna Tyrell, and his birth was greatly celebrated as he was the first and only son to be born during their marriage marking him as the second in the line of succession behind his father. He spent his youth very close to his father Mastir, and he accompanied his father during the Battle of Lyons, and was nearly killed by an Orc but survived after his father threw himself in front of the Orc allowing Mace the time to survive during the retreat. When Mace returned to Tree Hill with what little remained of House Tyrell's forces he was named the new patriarch of House Tyrell. He spent most of his time until the Fall of Tree Hill rebuilding the manpower in the House Tyrell ranks that had been lost during the disastrous conflict in France. During this time he also became a heavy player in the Lucerne Rebellion and would be one of the most vocal about not involving Tywin Lannister of which eventually caused the destruction of the entire rebellion and the deaths of thousands. Mace would be present at the Tree Hill Feast of 5119 where he showed himself a loyalist to Peter Scott revealing a Christian Cross during the meeting and siding against those aligned to Daniel Scott. Mace Tyrell would become aware of an attempt to kill Alice Lovie through Ezio Ederiz and learning this he sent a detachment of the Guild of the Green Orchid to attempt to protect her with the knights being led by his nephew Viktor Tyrell. The killing of Marius Scott led to Mace becoming withdrawn from the rebel leadership, and despite attempts by Peter Scott to get him back to his side the threats against Mace's family had led to his fear overcoming his beliefs. Mace himself following the liberation of Tree Hill has attempted to make his family an important player in the Order of the Grey Dragon of which he is a foreman in. This is also while he silently attempts to outgrow the ruling house Scott due to the fact that he believes House Tyrell should be in charge and not House Scott. Mace Tyrell II. in an attempt to show his skill and fortitude at architecture put in many requests to the higher ups for the lead role in the construction of the Port of Stormwind. In the end after much deliberation he was chosen as the lead foreman for the project a position of impressive standards.

History

Mace Tyrell was the third child of Mastir and Olenna Tyrell, and his birth was greatly celebrated as he was the first and only son to be born during their marriage marking him as the second in the line of succession behind his father.

Early History

He spent his youth very close to his father Mastir, and he accompanied his father during the Battle of Lyons, and was nearly killed by an Orc but survived after his father threw himself in front of the Orc allowing Mace the time to survive during the retreat.

Growth

When Mace returned to Tree Hill with what little remained of House Tyrell's forces he was named the new patriarch of House Tyrell. He spent most of his time until the Fall of Tree Hill rebuilding the manpower in the House Tyrell ranks that had been lost during the disasterous conflict in France. With this in mind he was forced to ignore the fact that his father had litterly died right in front of him, and in the most brutal of moments he had been forced to abandon his father's body. This tore away at the mind of Mace Tyrell for years after the Battle of Lyons and led to a slight stagnation in the situation of House Tyrell.

The First Lucernian Purge

Main Article : First Lucernian Purge

The Unspoken Civil War
This is the price of betraying your king. Look at this man and understand the fate of anyone who thinks they may turn against the Dragon.
The Plague Joust1.jpg
He had been in that damn library without exiting for nearly a week before we left for the tournament, and it showed in his state of mind.
Carlisle Cullen

Following James Lovie's Suicide Attempt that ended in failure there were several high profile people imprisoned in the form of Catherine Bell, and Eddard Starke but for most this was seen as something that must be based in truth and thus outside of House Starke who petitioned heavily for the release of Eddard Starke there was little outcry to these imprisonments. As the Starke's made official requests for Eddard's release it was Vhloraz that was gaining a control over James that allowed him to give commands to the leadership of the Circle of Magi, and then lock himself within the Sky Tower so that when James regained control he couldn't stop what had been ordered. There would be three events that led to the eventual Purge with the first being after James Lovie traveled southward to Gulltown and hosted the fated Tournament of 5110 in Gulltown. The tournament itself went off without much a hitch, but after several of the fated knights of James Lovie lost James became openly hostile to everyone that wasn`t his sole remaining knight at the tournament in James Nighting. As the tournament went on and as all the Arch Lords of the land were there he begin shouting and acting as if insane during the dinner before the final bout of the tournament. Surrounded by loyalists to him in the Nighting`s, Jestifes, and Scorpians no one dared speak as he continued to scream, but the effects of this were terrible on his Lords who lost complete faith in him. It was only when Carlisle Cullen tricked James into leaving under the lie that William was nearby would James Lovie stumble out of the dining hall and carried by his sworn knights pass out in his room.

Halys was a good man, and for his entire life he had lived an honorable life undeserving of the end he met. James needed to pay for what happened that day, and if I was the only one brave enough to do it then so be it.
Walter Jackson

Despite the horrible ranting by James he demanded the tournament continue, and all did this as they were loyal and Carlisle had worked hard to say that the king was just exhausted. At the final joust James Nighting was defeated by Halys Forend of whom was a knight of House Jackson, and following this victory it was Halys that attended a celebration in his honor and while this happy event was going on it was Aelflynn that overheard Carlisle Cullen talking with Lord Walter Jackson about a betrothal between William Lovie III. and Walter's daughter Eadwin Jackson II. and this caused jealousy from the Magi Aelfwynn Turnidlon who would use her abilities to sneak into the room where James asleep. Sneaking into the room she woke him and gave him visions that told him that Halys Forend was a sexual predator who was planning on using his winnings to buy children for his sick pleasure. Overcome with anger over this James who was still high on opioids would give power over to Vhloraz who would agree to stop Halys. James Lovie now being controlled by Vhloraz would break out of his room and travel to where Hayls was celebrating and while everyone bowed before their king James Lovie would walk up to him and decapitate the man. Causing screaming amongst the crowd as his family watched him die the place went crazy and as the crowd begin to get angry it was Carlisle that called in the knights of House Lovie who under the command of James Nighting reacted violently. Dozens of Smallfolk were killed during the riot as the violent Nighting`s unleashed rage on those they felt insolent enough to riot in the presence of the king. Outside of the smallfolk the hedge knights family were rounded up as well and executed alongside several of the other noblemen who had dared to speak out against the violence. Watching all of this transpire from behind the stands was Walter Jackson of whom stood beside his old friend Tywin Lannister of whom also watched the King go mad. Looking at each other they both then left the tournament as everyone had been commanded to leave.

House Scorpian Red Dragons House Scorpian and especially Maron Scorpian became dire hard loyalists and stayed constantly near James as one of the few he trusted.
I knew what was right and I knew what was wrong. If I sat by and let him continue that was wrong. That evil could not be allowed to fester on the world. As I looked at the young baby that my wife had just brought into the world I couldn`t bare the thought of him living in a kingdom that was a wasteland of morals. Sometimes you had to take a stand even when it was dangerous.
Walter Jackson

Following the disastrous tournament most of the Lords went back to their holdings and tried to return to life as usual, but the simply fact was that all knew their king was mad. Of those who didn't sit idle was Walter Jackson and Charlie Swan of whom at this point aligned together but also had very different goals in mind for the rebellion that they were discussing. For Charles Swan the goal was the removal of James by any means necessary including his death, while for Walter he wanted to amass a force so that he could be given time to complete his work on the Hungering Mirror. Walter, Charles, and the leaders of this early rebel group met together in Forks several times and begin forming the first elements of the Rebels in Lucerne. Staying very silent about their leanings the two would expand themselves, and found huge support amongst the Lords of the north, and the Reach. The Tyrells became a serious supporter hoping as they always did to gain more power and perhaps their own Arch Lord position if they were able to take James from the throne and replace him with his son. As the rebellion itself was growing in strength the sanity of James Lovie was decline to newer levels as he had now pushed away most of the more controlled members of his council leaving him with an increasingly Nighting, and Jestife dominated council.

Escape of Eddard Starke
March on Nunendorf

Main Article : Siege of Nunedorf

You come here with the idea that I have betrayed you. I have never betrayed you. I would never betray you. Today you kill a friend.
Leofrich Nune III.

With idea that House Nune had

Stragglers

Following Leofrich escaping the destruction he hid with different farming families before eventually fleeing into the forest where he kept his daughter and nephew alive through hunting small game and picking mushrooms. This went on for several weeks with Leofrich coming to live within an old, abandoned watchtower, and while it was a tough life, he was able to stay alive and keep his family alive. This ended with the arrival of a search party led by Horton Jestife who surrounded the watchtower but to his surprise it was Horton that let them go telling them to leave the area and never come back. Following the sacking of Nunendorf it was Horton that went on the move searching for survivors of the massacre and during this he became overcome by his conflicting emotions and when his force discovered Leofrich Nune III. hiding in the forest with his daughter and nephew it was Horton that allowed him to flee.

Violence Spreads
He had been unleashed. The lies of that monster were going to kill us all.
Carlisle Cullen

Following the destruction of almost the entirety of House Nune it was the army of James that moved northward towards Halendorf where he planned to confront House Hale of whom had been implicated by House Nune. The army arrived at Halendorf where the cities defenses had been raised following being warned by a merchant who had seen the fires of Nunendorf. With Halendorf defended it was King James Lovie II. that commanded House Hale come out and meet with him to discuss the accusations made against them. Tarnide himself would not go out, and instead sent his son Tarnide Hale II. out to meet with the king and hoped the sending of his heir and war companion would calm down the very angry king. Instead of causing him to calm down seeing the Landsgrave and Guildmaster Tarnide Hale not exit the castle made James more paranoid. As Tarnide the younger and his wife came outside they were also joined by Tarnide's sister Lisbeth as they attempted to show a united front. Arriving at the camp they were shocked to not be given a chance to speak and instead were placed in the stockade outside the army camp where they were placed in full view of the castle. At this point it was Tarnide the elder that made his second mistake when instead of immediately agreeing to the request of James to meet with him he delayed things believing his councilors that this was a bluff to attempt to kill him, but that he would never hurt his son who James was friends with.

It's my father. He has decided that James is without saving. I fought him for some time Carlisle I really did but honestly. James is gone. We as his friends have to realize that before everyone else. He died in France.
Tarnide Hale II.

As the days past it was James that lost control of himself and Vhloraz would take over and in control of the situation he would go outside and pushing past his companions he would travel to the stockades. Having his army blast horns for several minutes it was the Halendorf defenders that came to the walls including Tarnide the elder. As the army and the defenders watched it was Vhloraz that decapitated both Tarnide and his wife to the horror of the defenders including the leadership and most especially a devastated Tarnide the elder. Following this it was Vhloraz that had control retaken by James who was rushed back to his tent by Kieth and his other companions, and then fell into what basically amounted to a coma. With James incapacitated it was Kieth that took charge of the siege and wanting to end things as quickly as possible he would once again demand to meet with Tarnide Hale who this time met with the army. Meeting together it was Kieth that made it clear that Halendorf would be sacked if a deal was not made to ensure that House Hale was loyal, and after a discussion it was decided that both Jasper, and Rosalie Hale would become wards of House Lovie thus leaving the new heir of House Hale in Jasper as a hostage of James.

Carlisle's near Turn
I cannot do this anymore Walter. I have to make this right. I can't have all this blood on my soul.
Carlisle Cullen

The violence of Halendorf had in the mind of the Red Dragons ended the rebellion but for several prominent members of the government they came to believe that James could no longer be saved from himself. One of these government officials was Carlisle Cullen. What had happened throughout the previous months had finally pushed Carlisle to the point he couldn’t accept the things he was being asked to do. This break for Carlisle had led to starting to talk with Walter Jackson and these discussions would at first not go far as Walter did not believe that Carlisle was an honest broker. During these early talks Walter refused to admit his role in the rebellion and although Carlisle believed Walter was a rebel, he attempted to gain his trust by leaking information to Walter. Following the leaking of detailed orders with the stamp of James Lovie II. from Carlisle to Walter, it was Walter that went against his own gut feeling and revealed to Carlisle his involvement in the rebellion. With Carlisle now being brought in it was Walter and him that begin plotting to assassinate James who they believed was on the verge of losing control completely of his mind to the demon within.

Going to the Lannisters

Walter Jackson Action.jpg
We all warned him that Tywin Lannister could not be trusted, but all he could remember was the boy he knew back in the academy. He should have known that boy died when he burned Castamere during his rebellion.
Mace Tyrell II.

The movement reached its end following attempting to gain the support of House Lannister when he contacted Tywin Lannister. Walter had known Tywin as a child and when he knew him back then he believed he knew Tywin to be an honorable man who would know what the right thing to do was and what the wrong thing was. When Walter first told the other rebels what he planned to do they all were combined in telling Walter that he should not tell Tywin as Tywin was not trustworthy, and they didn't need his sort of person involved in the rebellion. Walter was arrogant in his belief that he could convince Tywin so he ignored the rest of them and traveled to Stormwind where he met first with Brandon Starke who was on board with the action but with the imprisonment of his brother and lord of House Starke he was not willing to actually commit forces to the fight for fear of the king responding by killing Eddard Starke. Once he was done talking to Brandon he met with Tywin and the two talked for some time before Walter believed that he had turned Tywin to his way of thinking. Tywin said goodbye and told Walter that House Lannister was fully behind the plan, and that he would rally his banner houses when the time was right. And thus Walter left Stormwind believing that he had completed his dream of seeing the madness of King James Lovie removed.

Tywin Lannister was best friends with Walter Jackson for many years, but in that final moment when he had to choose he chose family, and betrayed the only friend he had ever had.

I took me until I had no family left that loved me to realize William, that I made the wrong choice. I caused the deaths of thousands because I was afraid for my family. I see now that all I did was push us further into isolation and that is a threat greater then any mad king.
Tywin Lannister to William Lovie III.

The moment that Walter left the room Tywin ordered his guard to call Cersei and Jamie to him. When his children arrived he told them to take the children, and to find their brother and leave for Lannistane. Once there they were to make sure that none entered the city as he was about to tell the king about a rebellion and knowing the king there was going to be a lot of violence and he didn't want his family or the banner houses damaged by it. Jamie wondered out loud to him whether or not it might be more prudent to assist the rebels since the king was mad, but Tywin simply reminded him of what they had done to their rebels and said there was a high price to pay for rebellion. Following this Tywin left Stormwind and traveled to Lucerne where he immediately was given audience with King James Lovie.

The Greymane's
I'm sorry for what happened back there. You might hear that and think me a liar. It’s the truth though. I saw your sister and everything else just faded away. I wouldn’t be allowed to have her if your grandfather was there. He had to go away. Your grandmother and brother were just casualties of that. In a way you might blame your grandfather for what happened.
Loreon Lannister

As Tywin entered the city it was only a day after that another party arrived in the form of Darius Greymane, his wife, daughter, and several grandchildren who came to Lucerne inside a carriage. Sitting beside his sister Alisson, and brother Hektor he listens as his grandfather Darius jokes lovingly with his grandmother Tara. As they enter the city its Bravin that is amazed at the size of the city, and as they travel through Lucernian Proper they make there way into Lucerne Hold passing through the fortress of Theiner they enter the more prosperous area of Lucerne making there way to the Palace of Lucerne. Entering the palace grounds, they are taken by guards to the Citadel of William Lovie I. where they are to wait to be met by a government official. They don’t have to wait at the citadel long before they are met by the Konsular Loreon Lannister of whom treats them kindly and as Darius tells him how he wants to have his grandchildren and daughter set up in the capital working for the government or a noble family its Loreon that agrees to help process this request. Loreon leaves and an excited Darius goes to walk the gardens with Tara leaving behind Olivia to watch Bravin and his siblings. The chapter ends with Bravin and his family entering the king’s throne to meet with King James Lovie II. and ceremonially accept their positions in the capital. Arriving inside the room its Bravin that notices the large contingent of men at arms inside the room and his grandfather must as well because he puts his arms out to protect them but before he can say anything he is struck in the chest by an arrow.

Betrayal of Tywin
HOUSE Greymane2.jpg
Had Tywin waited another ten minutes I had planned on ending his life. I was going to assassinate my former best friend. Had I of acted quicker how many lives would have been saved. When I think of that its difficult to just get up in the morning let alone accept the person that I've become.
Carlisle Cullen

As Tywin Lannister approached Lucerne Carlisle Cullen had come to the decision that he was going to join the rebels, and the way he would do it was by assassinating James Lovie before any violence could happen. As Carlisle prepared for this Tywin entered the Keep. House Greymane had the extremely unlucky time of having several of their members in the Lucerne Palace when Tywin told James Lovie about the rebellion. James was so enraged at the news that when he remembered that House Greymane member Darius Greymane was waiting so that his family could meet their king. James in his enraged state turned to Tywin Lannister and asked him whether House Greymane could be involved and in that moment Tywin remembered the anger he had towards Archibold Greymane about the way he had treated Tywin's father. In that moment Tywin lied and told James that House Greymane had been involved. With this lie James left the throne room with his personal guard and as Darius and his family bowed before there king James raised his sword and started slashing at Darius while his guard killed the rest of the family. Its said that James slashed at Darius for so long that there was nothing left of him but a bloody mess on the ground. Bravin would accompany his family to the capital where his grandfather planned to meet with the king and swear himself personally to the king while also hopefully gaining service for his daughter, and grandchildren in the royal court. Following a successful meeting with Kieth Schwartz it was the Greymane group that was brought to the keep to meet with the king where it was agreed that several of his daughter, and grandchildren would enter the royal families Palatine, and Malatine ranks but before this could happen they became the target of Tywin Lannister who manipulated the situation and caused the entire group outside of Bravin and Olivia to be killed by the king and his men. Bravin would be sent back to Hillsbrad with a note that this was the consequence of turning on the royal family, while Olivia would be taken into imprisonment by the Circle of Magi as a result of her turning into a Worgen during the killing and thus revealing herself.

Death of the Rebellion

Brandon Von Gruger.png
The sudden speed at which everything in my life was destroyed left me without the time necessary to understand the scope of everything. My wife lay butchered in the other room as all I could do was resist the man holding a bag over my head and pulling me out of the house. I could only pray to god that somehow one of my children had survived the destruction of my life.
Walter Jackson

House Jackson was painted very early on as the ringleader of the rebellion and for this reason their destruction was made to be paramount but also James wanted to know the true extent of the movement and for this reason the operation had to make sure that they captured Walter Jackson alive so that he could be tortured for information. It was decided that assassins from Ravenholdt would join members of House Nighting, and House Jestife in the destroying the rebels completely and utterly. Brandon Von Gruger would accompany the dark and twisted Terrorblade alongside some fifty men at arms from House Nighting of whom had been commanded to destroy House Jackson completely outside of the Patriarch of whom was to be captured alive. Brandon had killed innocent's before but something about the way in which this was going didn't sit well in his stomach. When they captured Walter, one of the assassins went back into the house in the pretests of making sure everyone was dead. When the assassin Brandon Von Gruger entered the room where Josh's mother had been killed he found Joshua rubbing his mother's back trying to get her to wake up. The assassin in this moment moved to the child, and whispered for him to be very quiet if he wanted to live. The assassin then proceeded to put the child behind him attached to a rope, and hidden behind his cloak. This was how Joshua traveled to Lucerne, and when they arrived the assassin brought him to the steps of the Lucerne orphanage and left him there. During the attack on Bredgooden it was also Benjamin Heard that was captured, and this was a surprise as he was not someone being targeted. The young Benjamin was visiting Bredgooden with his family to spend time with his friend Francis Jackson and thus was captured instead of killed and while his family was kept locked within the house they were staying it was Benjamin that was tortured by Nighting men. During this torture it was Benjamin that revealed the fact that his father Hektor had sworn himself to the Yellow Dragons, and this revelation shocked (Nighting Man) leading to the eventual attack on House Heard. Benjamin would swear himself to the Red Dragons and sent his son Mikael Heard to Lucerne with the Nighting men as a means of ensuring his loyalty while Benjamin, his wife and daughters were sent to Castle Cullen to remain as hostages until the rest of their family had been dealt with.

Survival of Joshua Jackson
I had to watch him to make sure everything went alright. There would have been no point to everything that I did if they discovered him alive later. He had to live. He just had to live.
Brandon Von Gruger

Brandon stayed with Joshua for two weeks in order to make sure that he wasn't going to be attacked or found out about. He knew though eventually Joshua would be discovered and when this happened he knew the assassins would be forced to attack him again in order to not fail their mission.

Destruction of House Heard

In his recklessness James almost commanded the death of the mother of his future grandson.

For a guy who spoke everyday about how much he loved me, and how much he prided himself off looking after me. He sure went to great measures to kill the girl that would give him his first grandchild.
William Lovie III.

In the same way that House Jackson had become a major leader of the rebellion in the Crownlands it was House Heard under Hektor Heard that had joined the rebellion. Following the collapse of House Jackson it was the Red Dragon forces that moved next against House Heard moving there army to near Arryndale. At the time several of the sons of House Heard were located in Lucerne as they were serving inside the actual guard of Lucerne. The heir to the throne of House Heard in Martin Heard, along with his brother Telvin Heard were located in Lucerne and they were both summoned to their commanders office where when they entered they were attacked by the guards inside and killed. Their bodies were hung from the rafters of the Lucerne wall. As the purge in Lucerne continued the Circle launched an attack on the Heard apartment in Lucerne killing the families and servants of Telvin, and Martin before hanging there bodies outside the entrance of Lucerne alongside Martin and Telvin. The army that arrived at Arryndale negotiated with House Arryn and during this negotiation it was Byron Arryn that was manipulated into allowing the Red Dragon force to pass the city without warning House Heard. Byron believed that the Red Dragon force was going to take Hektor Heard into custody and then leave the area, but in truth they were planning to kill the entire family. Arriving at Heard Hold the Red Dragons would surround the hold fast and village before charging inside without warning or notice.

Releasing Prisoners

William Lovie III.

Throughout the events of the rebellion it was Catherine Bell that remained imprisoned within Lucerne and with the killings now spreading both families of the imprisoned became desperate to have them released. With the rebellion destroyed with House Jackson and the others it was Brandon Starke that arrived at Lucerne and swore and oath of loyalty to James Lovie and with Eddard also swearing the oath James Lovie prepared the release of Catherine but before he would fully release him he demanded a hostage which he got when they agreed to send their young sister Lyanna Starke to Lucerne where she would be held as a hostage in order to maintain their loyalty.

Final Flames

Carlisle Cullen

Following the departure of Tywin Lannister, it was Nedrick Baratheon who was the Patriarch of the house at the time went to Lucerne with his daughter Reinhilda Baratheon and his son Edward and hoped to make the point of the rebels known to James Lovie. His arrival though was misunderstood by James Lovie and instead of seeing it as the peace offering that it was he saw the coming of Nedrick and his children as a hostile act, and had the three executed in the main square of Lucerne.

End of Darkness.jpg
Look at the world father. You were born into this land. You grew up here. These people swore their lives to you. How could you have done all of this? Look at everything you have done. You destroyed a city. Killed hundreds of good men out of fear. Is this how you want to be remembered father. Is this the world you want to leave behind? I know you were a good person once. Don't end it all here. Don't do this. For me father. For everything I supposedly mean to you. Don't do this.

"Understand that this was nothing more then a warning. Don't involve yourself in rebellions again or you'll find it won't matter how much money you control I'll just take it all. You better understand what happened her because if this has to be explained again there won't be any of you alive to tell me that they understand."

"I understand."

"Who is your king?"

"You are My Grace."

"Excellent."

In Northern Lucerne where the smallfolk had turned on the authority with gusto it was the actions of House Scorpian and House Jestife that sealed the ending of the Plague. Rounding up hundreds of rebels supporters through the use of traitors within their ranks they would execute hundreds in penguin courts held in the forests. Eventually they just targeted whoever they wanted and after weeks of this they had killed thousands across the north.

Sack of Sawyer Hold
My father had sent us to stay with our mothers family for the summer. While we were away the Knights of Targ attacked my families home. Killed almost the entire family.
Peyton Sawyer

As the final moments of the ceasefire got close it was the Knights of Targ that led by Aeron Dalanis III. that would make a move south of their borders against House Sawyer. Aeron would get permission from the Circle of Magi to deal with House Sawyer who they lied was a member of the rebellion, and the Circle would give them three days to deal with House Sawyer before the ceasefire took place. Taking a force of several hundred from Dalnariat they would arrive at Sawyer Hold where they would attack the hold during the night. The defenders were overwhelmed by the sudden and surprise nature of the attack and the Knights of Targ got inside the hold but the inner holdfast was locked by the defenders. As the Knights of Targ prepared to break inside it was Robbin Sawyer that betrayed his family when he arranged with Maehagel Raenralis to keep his family safe in exchange for opening the gatehouse. During the next day Robbin would open the gate allowing the Knights inside the holdfast and following this it was him and his family that were allowed to leave safely but the the knights then sacked the holdfast. During this sack they took almost everything of value from the hold, but above that they would also kill many members of the family with the only survivors of the family being Robbin Sawyer who had already betrayed his family during the initial assault for safety, and the children of Thomas Sawyer who were away from the holdfast at the time of the attack. Another unlikely survivor was Marcel Sawyer who survived by hiding in a secret shelter in the holdfast where he would stay hidden for three days eventually coming out when the Knights of Targ had left the holdfast.

Brooke Scott watches from the outer wall of Tree Hill with her grandfather Peter Scott, and grandmother Margarie Scott as her cousin Marius Scott arrives back at Tree Hill. Also on the wall watching this arrival is several prominent nobles in the form of Richard Lonmouth, and his son Victor Lonmouth as well as Renford Varryn and his son Renford Varryn II. While watching this Mace Tyrell II, and Emric Elric arrive with several of their personal guard and while Margarie continues to watch the arrival of Marius its Peter that takes Brooke's hand and brings her to the incoming noblemen alongside the Lonmouth's and Varryns. A conversation ensues where Peter asks for their support at the upcoming Feast of Tree Hill and while Emric is quick to agree to support Peter holding his cross as he gives Peter his word, its Mace that is reluctant to swear to his support. Brooke watches as the two haggle back in forth with Brooke not knowing what is in question but as Mace appears prepared to walk away its Peter that takes the group to the wall and looking down points out Matilda Lovie. Peter succeeds in having Mace agree to swear his support to him in return for Peter promising to allow Mace to send a troop of Tyrell men to guard Matilda alongside the Scott men. As she prepares to go down and meet with her cousin her grandfather leaves for the keep telling her that he must make last minute preparations for the upcoming celebration Feast that is being held in Marius honor, and then leaves with Mace Tyrell. Following her grandfather leaving its Brooke that goes with her grandmother back to the keep, where Brooke plans to meet with her friends Haley James, and Peyton Sawyer. Arriving at the keep she goes to the apartment of the Sawyers in the keep and isn't surprised to find Peyton, and Haley already together but can’t help but smile. Brooke and the girls spend the day together, with Peyton talking on and on about much she misses her betrothed and Brooke's sister Lucas and the other two just laughing at her as they both know that it won’t be long before Lucas returns from squiring at Castle Reiter and Peyton and Lucas are married.

Brooke's Discovery

Brooke Scott Cover12 - Used.jpg
I knew that my father was a less then loving father. I didn't know there was a darker part to him then that.
Brooke Scott

That night its Brooke, Haley, and Peyton that go back to her family’s estate within the keep where her two friends join her in spending the night in her room. Brooke goes to her grandfather’s room to say goodnight and finding no guards she realizes he must be away. Planning to go inside his room and write a note for him before he arrives home, she opens his door using the key that he has given her. Going to his desk to get paper to write the note she stops when she sees a document with the title of report on Daniel Scott. Brooke is too nosy to ignore the document and instead of leaving as she knows she should she decides to read it. The document details an investigation done by Tilman Fischart the Ratmann of Tree Hill. Tilman had used his influence to find out information on Daniel Scott the son of Peter and Brooke’s father. This had been in response to Peter becoming concerned about his son and worrying that Daniel was a poor choice for the future of the Stormlands. During his investigation it was Tilman that had discovered that Daniel was in fact not a Christian and had converted to a Misotheism religious belief. Documents were found by Tilman in the private quarters of Daniel that detailed this philosophy, and this was confirmed unknowingly by Daniel himself when during the investigation it was Daniel that revealed his agreement with the text. The investigation also uncovered that Daniel had significant business involvement with House Nighting and this further showed the moral decay of Daniel Scott. Reading this caused Brooke to flee the room in a rush returning to her own room where she tried to sleep but the knowledge of what she had just learned about her father led to her tossing and turning all night.

Picking Sides
This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

Having been in and out of sleep all night the chirping of the birds at her window leads to her getting up before Haley and Peyton are awake and leaving her room for her grandfather’s office. Knowing he barely sleeps she hopes to find him in his office and seeing guards at his office doors its confirmed that hes inside. The guards who she knew as the palace guardsmen Gadaric of Scott, and Theodemar of Trensdale would tell her that she had to wait to go in as he was in a meeting. Surprised that he would be meeting so early she sat on the bench across from the door. After several minutes it was the door that opened and several men exited the room including a knight she didn’t recognize, her grandfathers personal guard Fridigarn Waldenbint. As her grandfather exited the room another man followed him who she recognized as baron Ralph Guntbold, as well as a young girl that Brooke believed was Ralphs daughter Lanna Guntbold. She watched as her grandfather and Ralph shook hands in a move that surprised her because she knew Ralph to be a close friend of her father who having read the letter, she knew would put her grandfather and Daniel on two different sides of the politics of the Stormlands. As the group departs down the hallway its Peter that invites Brooke into his office, and she follows behind him sharing a brief smile with Fridigarn. Closing the door behind her its Peter that tells her that he knows she read the letter about her father. He says that the letter was moved and her coming here now tells him that it was her that looked at it. She admits to seeing the letter and the two discuss his understanding that this puts her in a bad position, but Peter convinces her that he loves Daniel but cannot allow him to become the leader of the Stormlands after he’s gone.

This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

Understanding the logic of what hes saying the two share a hug where Peter tells her he loves her, and Brooke promises her grandfather that she won’t reveal what she read. Leaving Peter’s office, she goes back to her room where she finds Peyton and Haley are reading, but they both stop when she comes back. Unable to tell even her best friends what she learned she lies to them and goes to reading with them, but her mind is wandering as she does. Haley and Peyton eventually return to their homes leaving Brooke alone. Left alone she quickly leaves her room and finding Fridigarn she tricks him into telling her where the Guntbold’s are staying in the city. Learning they are staying in secret at his personal apartments in the Sea Gate its Brooke that leaves the keep going to speak with Lanna Guntbold. Arriving at the Seagate of Tree Hill she enters the Waldenbint estate and finds Lanna in the courtyard sitting alone reading a book.

The Speech

This will feel like I am declaring war on you Daniel. I am not. I love you son. I love you enough that I do not want to put you into a position where you will fail.
Peter Scott

The speech details that he plans to vote at this meeting to change the succession laws of the Stormlands to Tanistry, and he makes it clear that the reason for this is to keep Daniel from becoming the new lord after he dies. Taylor watches as the hall erupts into anger over this as those who support Peter fight with those who support Daniel, but as the yelling reaches its pinnacle its Marius that smashes the bell causing the whole room to stop and stare at him. Marius delivers a speech describing his view on the future of the Stormlands and playing even more at the fears people have over Daniel he successfully forces Daniel to stand his men down lest he look like the man they are accusing him of being. Daniel leaves the room with several of his most ardent supporters leaving Marius and most of the diet to remain behind and listen as Marius continues to talk of the positives that the Stormlands has in front of it.

Taylor Discovered
Do you think this is funny? Have a told a joke to you little girl? Am I wearing the clothes of a jester? Trust me the next time I see you, I will show what a joke I am.
Daniel Scott

As they continue watching the speech it is a door that slams open and as Daniel comes through, Clayton, Nathan, Taylor and Lilly flee but Taylor trips and is noticed by Daniel. Daniel sees that she was looking through the window and realizing that she saw his embarrassment firsthand he verbally attacks her leaving her in tears, but as Nathan prepares to come out of his hiding spot, she waves him away instead taking the abuse. After Daniel finally tires of this abuse, he grabs her by the shirt ripping her top as he drags her back through the door and throws her onto the other side locking it behind her. Taylor is taken out of the keep by a man at arm as was ordered by Daniel and taken outside the gates of the keep she is not sure what to do as she barely knows the city outside of the tour that Nathan gave her. Knowing that her family as a small apartment in the city where her uncle Hank James lives with his family, she asks the guard where the property is but he refuses to help her and demands she cross the Bridge of Saint Reginald, and crying she watches him struggle with his order, and then as continues to cry, he goes to her and pretends to drag her away but instead whispers to her the location of her uncles apartment. Going through the streets she gets help from different vendors on the street and successfully makes her way to the apartment of her uncle and knocking on the door she is greeted by her aunt Mary James, and cousin Gloria James. Without a word her aunt pulls her into a hug and unable to speak as she begins crying again her aunt takes her to her room and lays her down staying with her while rubbing her back and taking care of her as best, she can.

The Hosidius Plot

Escape of Alice Lovie
Alice Lovie Cover12.jpg
Think of me what you will. In time all truth comes out. What I am here to tell you is that you are a single choice away from becoming a monster.
Leofrich Nune III.

Arriving at Castle Hosidius its Leofrich that sends in two villagers who say they have friends in the castle. Waiting outside for some time its Leofrich that discusses with several of his knights how much this changes everything for him. He had always believed in his heart that the move against Nunendorf was a move orchestrated by powerful nobles in the capital. If the crown itself was now involved, then just retaking control of Nunendorf would never change things. If this was true, then they had to take actual action against the crown itself. The villagers return bringing with them a citizen of Castle Hosidius and he reveals that the princess is in the capital and was brought in by Paulus Yernese and a force of Yernese men. Infiltrating the castle, they first go to Paulus Yernese of whom is staying outside the keep and thus is the easiest to get to. Finding him on the bottom floor of the apartment he was staying in hes with several of his knights and a few men at arms and thus when they enter a fight almost breaks out. The confrontation between the two groups ends when Leofrich tells him about the true plan which is to kill Alice and with Paulus believing she would survive the plot he decides to assist them. Paulus demands that one of his knights in the form of Canus Ordius and several men at arms accompany the Nune Devils to make sure that Alice has someone nearby that she knows, and then the two group follows Canus as he leads them towards the keep. The Nune Devils remain outside the keep while Canus and one of the men at arms goes into the keep gathering Alice. Waiting outside the keep they can now tell how much of a military buildup is happening in the castle with lines of supplies and weapons stacked all around the inside of the keeps outer courtyard. Canus returns and Leofrich sees Alice is with him, and they begin moving towards the gatehouse. Alice is sitting in her lodgings in Castle Hosidius alongside Eddara, and Adala when a knock on the door interrupts them. Adala answers the door revealing Canus Ordius who rushes in moving directly to Alice. Rushing her to pack her things and prepare to leave its Alice and the girls that demand to know whats going on but Canus says there is no time, and he will explain it once she is safe. Packing quickly, they follow Canus who is himself led by two of his knights as they make their way through the hallways of the castle towards the exit. Reaching the gateway out of the keep they are stopped by a knight and two men at arms of House Hosidius and a confrontation breaks out which leads to a near fight, but a man steps between the two groups and tells them that Paulus, and Atilia Hosidius are waiting for the princess. The Hosidius knight appears frightened of angering Atilia and so lets the groups pass by when Alice vouches for their story. Leaving through the gate she sees a large group of horses and Paulus waiting, and she wants to run to him, but instead remains calm and walks alongside the men. Once they are at the horses none of the men waiting there say anything just telling the girls to get on the horses, and when Paulus whispers for her to do the same she is too scared to do anything but comply. As the other girls get on their horses its Paulus that puts Alice on her horse. As he does this he finally speaks, and he tells her he loves her and that he’s sorry, and before she can say anything he smacks the horse causing it to begin riding with the rest of the group. She turns and watches as Paulus moves back towards the fighting at the gatehouse, and tears fall from her eyes as she regrets not saying she loved him. Getting away from Castle Hosidius she speeds her horse to ride alongside Canus who is talking with the man that defused the argument earlier. Finally finding her courage she commands the men to tell her what is going on, and instead of Canus it’s the man who introduces himself as Leofrich Nune III. that tells her the truth of the whole thing. Shocked that Paulus may have betrayed her she loses her confidence and begins crying leading to her falling back in the group riding beside Adala and Eddara who try to calm her down. As they continue riding its Leofrich that falls back to ride beside her and the two speak for a time. Leofrich tells her about knowing her father, and mother and tells Alice a story of travelling to the capital when word had come in that the king had returned alive from France. He had arrived ahead of the king, and he was in the giant crowd of people that waited in Lower Lucerne for his arrival. When James and the survivors arrived, he remembers crying at the sight of the army. He had felt such hope to see the king again. He remembered the king walking up to him, and like he did to dozens of men that day he hugged him and comforted him over the death of his brother at Lyons.

Siege of Castle Clune

The groups arrival at Castle Clune is met by Landsgrave Luthor Clune as well as Dantmann Friedhelm, and Hochmeister Baldwin. In behind these men Alice also notices several younger girls and one of them who has the cloak of Luthor Clune smiles at her and Alice smiles back. For the first time since they left Hosidius its Leofrich that reveals the truth of what happened there, and a shocked to finally hear it said outloud its Alice that begins crying which is noticed by everyone. Feeling weak for having cried in front of everyone its Alice that attempts to steel herself throughout the rest of conversation, but her outburst is not ignored and Luthor commands his daughter and several of her handmaids to lead Alice, Adala, and Eddara inside Castle Clune to where they will be staying during their time at Castle Clune. Alice is followed inside by Canus and several of the Clune men at arms and despite being given a friendly meeting its Alice that cannot trust these men and sticks close to Canus who is the only person she still trusts outside of her handmaids.

Leofrich Nune is standing beside Luthor, and Lorent as they watch the ship take Alice northward and to the safety of the Crownlands. Leofrich and Lorent leave when Luthor is forced away by the arrival of his Dantmann Fulcanius Auxentius. The two are saying their goodbyes, but as Leofrich goes to leave its Lorent that stops him. Walking with him once more its Lorent that tells Leofrich that he needs his help, and then reveals that if Leofrich helps him then he will take him to see a man that knows about the destruction of Nunendorf. Leofrich tells him he needs to speak to his men before he can commit to this, and so goes to speak with his men. Speaking with the men they all agree that they want to learn the truth of Nunendorf and thus agree to go back to Dedekind and gather the full Nune forces and then assist Lorent. Returning to Lorent they seal their deal and Lorent leaves to prepare a boat for his men as well as Leofrich and his men to travel westward to Dedekind. Arriving back at Dedekind they meet with Reiner and the other commanders and going inside the baracks they have made for themselves at Dedekind its Leofrich that tells them what happened to him. After revealing the offer by Lorent who was waiting at the boat its Reiner that agrees quickly wanting to know what truth they can. Gathering the men, they now travel on two boats southward where Lorent wants them to go to the port of Castle Melfinger where they can then travel to Klopferia where Lorent’s lover is. Arriving in the waters outside of Castle Melfinger they are unable to reach the area due to what is a clear blockade of the port, and as they are approached by several warships they prepare for battle. Being outnumbered they do not immediately fire on the other ship instead they move side to side with it and Leofrich speaks with the captain of the other ship who reveals himself as Edgar Jolpfer II. and tells Leofrich that he and his ships need to leave the area as Melfinger is in rebellion and thus the entire bay is now closed. The arrival of another ship as the two ships are talking leads Leofrich to agree to leave the area, and after Edgar reveals they are planning a major attack the next day the two groups leave with Leofrich and Lorents ships moving northward. Returning the next day during the night they travel without lights and make their way towards the River Klopfer. Arriving at the Inlet they make their way down moving now with lights as they have passed the blockade. Most of the Nune Devils remain with the ship but with fifty horses aboard the two boats they double ride most of the horses leaving a force of nearly 75 to travel south towards Klopferia.

Skirmish at Klopferia

Main Article : Skirmish at Klopferia

You spent all this time running away from what happened to your family. I almost feel bad that this is how it ends for you.
Alberich Klopfer

Arriving at the outskirts of Klopferia they are shocked at the size of the city, and its Lorent that tells him all about the changes brought about in the city by the rise of the Guild of Klopfer. Waiting till morning the group enters the city in several waves as to not create too much suspicion. Leofrich and his men rent out rooms at the local tavern which they pay for with coins given to them by Lorent and then wait for Lorent to give them the signal to help him as he leaves them and goes to find out where his lover is being held. That night while the group spends the night just having a simple night together its Leofrich that cannot find Reiner or Theodrik but assumes they just went to bed early and doesn’t investigate it any further. Hours after Lorent has left its Leofrich that begins to worry about it and as he goes outside with Markus, and Edrik he sees lines of men armed outside. Leofrich speaks with the leader of the men waiting for them outside who reveals himself as Alberich Klopfer the Baron of the land. After a long conversation between the two its Alberich that prepares to kill the Nune Devils when Reiner, Theodrik, and Marcel arrive holding the sons of Alberich as hostages alongside his wife. This situation leads to Alberich agreeing to let them leave with horses in return for his children and wife being given back to him safely. Before leaving with the horses its Leofrich that forces Alberich to make a Vow of Odahviing giving Leofrich and his men a twenty four hour head start in moving northward.

Having made the deal to escape its Leofrich that leads his men and the horses they have gained outside the walls and then begin the hard march back to the boats. They gather back their own horses and continue on the road moving as fast they can as they all know that the Klopfer forces are going to be chasing after them as soon as the twenty-four hours is over. While riding back its Leofrich that takes each stop they make to speak with Lorent, and Klopferia who are being attacked constantly by the other Nune Devils angry over Lorent’s betrayal. Leofrich puts an end to this telling them that while Lorent and Klopferia are with them they are under his protection.

Attack on Melfingerhit

Leofrich and his men arriving on the outskirts of Melfingerhit and looking over at Reiner the two smile as they prepare to attack the unsuspecting Klopfer forces. and his forces move against Melfingerhit and during the skirmish that follows the Klopfer forces surrender almost immediately as they are taken completely unaware. Capturing Melfingerhit is a huge move for the Nune Devils as they discover that there is a large prisoner of war camp that has been set up at the village, and thus the Nune Devils quickly go about freeing these men. The commander of these Melfinger forces is named Manfred Nesselrode and he takes command of the prisoners and while the Nune Devils make their plans to go north and take control of the western Chain tower its Manfred that prepares to raise forces in the area to garrison Melfingerhit. While at Melfingerhit its Leofrich that sends a raven to Castle Melfinger telling them that they are preparing to assault the tower, and that once they do this would be the time to join in the attack.

Fall of the Chain Towers

Leaving Manfred and his men to watch over the prisoners its Leofrich that moves his forces up the inland road towards the western Chain Tower. Having changed into the equipment of the captured Klopfer forces they reach the tower, and with the tower’s defenses being entirely designed to protect it against seaborne attack the land route was wide open. With their disguises letting them get in close they can overwhelm the defenders who like at Melfingerhit surrender quickly and having captured the defenders without any real fight they are able to gain control of one of the squadron of ships of the Klopfer navy. Using the tower, they begin firing on the ships of the eastern tower, and as this is happening, they begin to see ships of the Melfingers also coming towards them. Lowering the Harbour Chain, they allow the Melfinger Fleet to move outside the bay and begin engaging the Klopfer Fleet. With the Klopfer forces now outnumbered and being fired on by the western Chain Tower the Klopfer fleet begins extracting the forces from the eastern tower and begins retreating from the Bay entrance. The chapter ends with

Escape of Marius

Following the attack by Theoderic on the spire it was the men of House Arennis that quickly retook control of the tower, and northern wall, but by this point the men of Theoderic had fled the wall and left behind the sigil of House Scott to blame Marius for the attack. Finding the sigil, it was Visenarr that arrived at the spire intent on arresting Marius, but discovered a dying Matilda, and a Marius severely injured by an arrow to shoulder. Marius would be allowed to escape Arennis Hold by Visenarr Arennis, with a horse through the northern gate, but he was not able to get to his force south of hold, or to the Swans east of the wall due to the lockdown on the hold, and so instead planned to travel north attempting to reach Kissenburg. Marius would fall off the horse due to passing out from his injury to his shoulder and laying bleeding in the forest he would drag himself to the road in the hopes of being found. Marius would be discovered by farmers travelling to the village of Arrenishet and they took him back with them to the village. At the village it was Marius that was mended to by the village and remained in the village for the night but knew he had to escape and despite not being healed he left the healer. Marius was forced to flee the village by the arrival of Weitlest men before he could purchase a horse but was assisted by a young man (Find young man) who showed him the way to Arrenishit. Arriving at Arrenishit the boy helped him buy a horse from the village and after thanking the young man he traveled by horse to Kissenburg where he hoped to seek the protection of his mothers family in House Kissling while he attempted to return to areas more loyal to his grandfather.

Captured

While at Kissenburg he would be betrayed by his uncle Ernest Kissling III. of whom was the Edelherr and thus kept Marius's arrival a secret from Landsgrave Brandon Kissling. Using men loyal to him it was Ernest that held Marius prison outside Kissenburg for several days treating him well while he waited for forces loyal to the Circle to arrive. Willibald Guntbold, and Wilhelm Kissling would arrive and took custody of Marius taking him northward to Castle Kornfield where he was held until the arrival of Mildred Gleckourd who took him by boat to Gleckheint.

Death of Joseph Faraday

Main Article : Death of Joseph Faraday

Emma Bell Cover Large.jpg
It was the most painful death I've ever seen. This man was clearly lost in his own sadness to such an extent that only death could release him. I wish someone could have saved him. I wish I could have saved him.
Emma Bell

It was around the time that Freddie Highmore and Emma Bell were beginning their full fledged secret relationship that Joseph Faraday and his own personal level of depression would cause a massive problem that would eventually spread into a household rivalry. Joseph Faraday had been betrothed to Emma Bell for a time but this had ended after Emma had become smitten with Fredrik Highmore and had convinced her mother to end the betrothal. Unable to tell the Faradays the real reason they had offered their younger daughter Hanah Bell of whom while younger was still a prime match, and for Charles Faraday this was seen as a fair trade, but in the case of Joseph Faraday this was a terrible insult. By this point they had begun to discuss the idea of telling Emma's beloved cousin William of whom was also Freddie's friend, but at that point had not fully worked up the courage to say anything yet, and it was under these pretents that they went to a tavern in Lucerne proper to be alone together. The two were having a great time until Freddie went to the tender to ask for a refill of the drink that Emma had come to enjoy and when he did the situation would drive out of control. When he left Joseph Faraday would use this moment of departure to attempt to seduce Emma Bell of whom he had been watching for some time from across the tavern. Where once his natural looks had allowed him to get any manner of girl that he wanted, as his reputation had spread so to as a result had the number of women interested begun to dwindle. As he had become used to resistance he had also become used to forcing his way on girls and using his noble birth, and money to bribe off any trouble after the case, and thus when Emma told him she was with Freddie, and that she was noble born he saw this as the same rejection and he started to get more forceful in their meeting. When Freddie came back to the table and found the situation he attempted to remain calm and simply advise Joseph who was much older then him to back away. This calm approach did not go over well and Joseph reacted with laughter before punching him in the face knocking Freddie momentarily down, but he quickly got up and following this the two would become involved in a scuffle of which Joseph would lose causing him to request a duel with Freddie Highmore.

Your Grace I only saw the end of the fight, but what I saw was clear. Lord Faraday attacked Lord Highmore, and despite Lord Highmore disarming him and attempting to end the fight...despite these attempts Lord Faraday would attempt to kill your cousin my your grace. Only Lord Highmore moving quickly saved Lady Bell's life.
Emma Bell
By this point Paulo Snow entered the tavern after finally catching up with Joseph, and by this point he found Joseph tauning young Freddie into a duel, and because of the large crowd Freddie was forced to go into the duel even though he knew that Joseph wouldn't stand a chance. Joseph Faraday would taunt him into the street and then took out a sword threatening Emma of which caused Freddie to sadly take out his own sword, and the two fought although with Joseph nearly falling over drunk it wasn't much of a fight as Freddie knocked his sword aside and shouted for him to surrender. Joseph refused and charge Emma with a dagger forcing Freddie to stab him through the back to stop him, and killing him nearly instantly. Paulo took out his sword and tried to attack Freddie of whom he was able to fight breifly before guards from the nearbye House Elbertson led by (Ser) Underian of House Elbertson would step in and stop Paolo of whom watched screaming as Freddie left the scene carrying the crying Emma Bell.

Whatever secret that Freddie and Emma had hoped to hide ended the moment that he went on trial.

Following this Emma would wake up the following morning surrounded Alice Lovie, and her aunt Catherine Lovie of whom let her cry and held her before finally telling her that a trial had been demanded by the Faraday's over the death of Joseph Faraday. At that point she begged to know where Freddie was and they said he had been taken and placed in the Lucernian dungeon awaiting his trial, but when she became irate that he was in jail for basically defending her they revealed this had been decided only after he had returned to the House Highmore estate and the Faraday's had attempted to kill him in the courtyard leading to Desmond Faraday also being imprisoned awaiting trial. Dressing quickly she accompanied Alice into the courtyard where they were met by some twenty House Lovie guards including Giblert Fouline, and James Junnsworth of whom escorted the group to the King's Keep where Bella Swan was preparing the court for the arrival of the group. With King William in the Port of Stormwind celebrating the foundation of that city while this was happening it did fall to the Councillors of Lucerne, and the Queen to determine the court, and under these circumstances Bella would prepare ahead of the time and had recalled many of the most influential in the Lucerne Court. The trial would have five judges as was the way in Lucernian courts in the form of Cersei Lannister, Bella Lovie, Brandon Starke, Liam Greymane, and Mace Tyrell of whom would listen to the words of the plaintiffs first in the form of Desmond Faraday who had been released from jail alongside Freddie. Weaving a tale of lies he argued that Freddie had killed Joseph in blind rage using Magi and trickery. The Faraday's brought forward several men who were not present at the fight of whom told the court that Freddie was a well known pedophile and had also been found killing children in Nortburg years before, and while Brandon Starke on the council would openly laugh at the truthfulness of these stories, it wasn't until the defense led by Lysa Highmore called as their witness Underian of House Elbertson that the case was completely ended. Underian as a witness and a knight testified that he saw Freddie attempt to stop the fight and even after defeating Joseph attempted to resist hurting him, but Joseph had brought death upon himself when he tried to kill Emma Bell of whom took the stand next and as a princess of Lucerne her words would end the trial when she agreed with Freddie, and Underian.
This case was a farce, and you Lord Desmond Faraday should be embarrassed that you wasted our time in this manner.
Mace Tyrell II.

Following Emma Bell's words the judges would briefly speak together before Brandon Starke spoke giving the words of the judges in the form of stating they had come to terms with the fact that Freddie Highmore was innocent of murder, and then proceeded to verbally attack Desmond Faraday and several of the Faraday retainers who had wasted their time with this hearing. Desmond would at first remain silent but then responded with great anger shouting and trying to get to Freddie of whom stood stoically as the House Lovie guards took Desmond away where he would spend the day and night in the Lucerne Dungeon. While Desmond was imprison again Bella Lovie, and Alice Lovie would take up court at the Keep and would summon Charles Faraday of whom they would have a long conversation with about the events of the day. Charles made it very clear that he was demanding consequences against House Highmore and that unless there were consequences there was going to be reprisals against House Highmore. Once Desmond was released his father was told by James Junnsworth that until William Lovie III. returned and he was on his way that nothing more would be done in the matter, and grudgingly Desmond agreed as he believed that the King would punish Freddie. Following the departure of Charles Faraday she would meet with Cersei Lannister and the two have a nice conversation before Cersei unknowingly slips that Lanna Lannister had traveled to the Port of Stormwind and realizing that Jasper is a liar about not seeing Lanna anymore she says a quick goodbye to Cersei and goes to find Dylan Steinmare. Finding him talking to Emmett she has him excuse himself and following Alice the two return to the Cloud Tower where without any real words of what she is thinking she seduces Dylan and the two sleep together. Following this the two discuss there futures and Alice all but pleads with Dylan to tell her to not marry Jasper, but despite proclaiming his love for Alice he knows he cannot divorce Laera Steinmare who he loves as well, and she must marry Jasper Hale for her brother, and although she has come to hate Jasper she knows this is the case. It is following this decision by Dylan that an angry Alice would begin the plot to have Dylan removed from Lucerne and sent back to Castle Steinmare as she had lost faith in him.

Return of the King

Despite the trial of House Faraday's lasting effects the truly major develpment of the return of William Lovie III. was that Alice was finally able to convinse him to end things with Brooke Scott which would put into place a series of increasingly dangeorus events.

This is a kingdom of laws Lord Faraday. The High Court of Lucerne has put forward a unanimous decision on the matter. What would you have me do?
William Lovie III.

Following the court decision the situation remains in a holding pattern as the Faradays await the return of the king of whom they strongly believe will reverse the decision and they will get their vengeance. When William Lovie III. arrives back at Lucerne following the debacle that was the death of Joseph Faraday and trial of Freddie Highmore, and upon his arrival he is met at the gates by Alice, and Bella of whom accompany him back to the Cloud Tower where upon their arrival they tell him about the trial and he is quite shocked but is proud of his wife, and sister for their handling of the event but despite agreeing with their decision he is forced to meet with Desmond, and Charles Faraday of whom ask for punishment against Freddie Highmore. Tired from his trip he tells them that the law is concrete and there is no changing the decision, and unknown to him the Faradays take this as meaning that he is saying they must get justice themselves and while disappointed they see this as an opportunity to get their own revenge on House Highmore. Following his conversation with Desmond, and Charles he returns to the Cloud Towers and has a long conversation with Alice, but despite wanting to and Alice pressuring him to reveal the truth of Brooke he refuses to and the two siblings say goodnight and William goes to his room with Bella where he sleeps with her. Waking up after sleeping with Bella he is overcome with sadness over being apart from Brooke, and despite having Bella's arms around him he feels no better, and leaving his bed with Bella he goes to Alice's room where still overcome with emotions over being apart from Brook he finally reveals the entire truth to Alice that he is in love with Brooke. The two siblings argue for some time as William reveals the true scope of the relationship, and only after this does Alice truly come to understand that William's feelings are more then just lust. Revealing the scope of the relationship leads Alice to go through the endless list of potential problems it creates, and emotionally exhausted and unwilling to let his sister be mad at him he agrees to Alice's demand that he break things off with Brooke.

Removing Dylan Steinmare
Laera Steinmare Cover.jpg
I see now that I am the other woman. I allowed myself to become the kind of girl who sleeps with a married man. I cannot have him here one more minute.
Alice Lovie

With Alice stressed about everything that was going on between William, and Brooke she would allow her anger towards Jasper to grow, but without any way to resolve that her anger turned on Dylan Steinmare. Dylan had failed to be the escape from Jasper that she had wanted him to be and thus in her anger she begin a plot to have him removed from the capital despite his close relationship with William. Another growing part of his removal was due to the relationship that Alice begin to have with Laera Steinmare, who Alice begin to become quite close friends with. This friendship made Alice feel worse becasue she had betrayed Laera and slept with Dylan. With all of this in mind Alice would send a letter to Fenrick Steinmare of whom in the letter she asked to send for Dylan and then begin arranging for the why when she had Dylan named to the Order of the Red Dragon and made a general in the order with a plan of founding the 7th Waffen Steinmare Division. As a part of this move it was Alice that conspired with Edward Cullen in order to block what Alice knew would be the eventual attempt by Dylan to have William step in and stop Dylan's removal, and with Dylan being openly hostile to Edward it took little convincing to gain the assistance of Edward. As Alice plans the removal of Dylan she decides to bring Edward into the plot as she knows the two are at eachothers throats and also wants to make Edward loyal to her and not fall into loyalty of anyone else leading her to summon Edward to speak with her at the Cloud Towers. Edward arrives that night at her summons and the two have dinner in what is an all but empty cloud towers and Alice plays on the lonliness of Edward to gain his assistance in the plot against Dylan making it out to seem to Edward that it is more Dylan than Jasper that is responsible for Edward's isolation. When Dylan was told of this he attempted to resist this assignment seeing it as little more then exile, but his attempts to until William returned to the capital were opposed by Edward Cullen of whom confronted Dylan. During this conversation it was the two long time rivals that finally bared their true anger with Edward revealing the extent of the plot against Dylan and the invovlment of Alice which was a shock to Dylan. The moment that Alice's involvement was discovered it was Dylan who understood that he was without real options and accepted that he would be going to Castle Steinmare and also that he had possibly ruined things with Alice of whom he had true feelings for.

Invasion of Westbridge

Main Article : Invasion of Westbridge

Fall of Braedin
Braedin stands in our way. Lucas I need you to take it for me while I travel north. Do not let reveal our movements.
Brooke Scott Cover Amazing4.jpg
Lucas I have great need of you. Your father would turn us against each other, but you must understand that everything me to me and your sister is just what it is. I love her. I will not stop loving her, but I can also not stop loving my wife. I need you to move past all this, and do this for me. We are friends, whether or not you still believe that.
William Lovie III.

When it came to dividing up the responsibilities of the attack on the lands of the Malfoy's it was House Scott that was obviously a part of the planning of the Invasion of Westbridge as they were a Lord House and Lucas Scott was very popular with the young King of Lucerne in William, despite the fact the two were estranged due to an argument between them when Lucas finally learned of Brooke Scott, and the King. While this planning hinged on several different sections the overall plan back in Lucerne was one that needed to all work together in connection in order to leave the path open for the main army of the King to engage Westbridge itself. Several houses would move against the outskirt castles, and towns south of Westbridge, while House Lovie and its vassals alongside others moved against the southern half of the Westbridge entrance. This meant that House Scott was required to take control over the invasion of the town of Breadin to the south east of Westbridge. The town of Braedin was the ancestral home of the large House Curtley, and as such it was heavily defended by the forces of House Curtley who despite their disloyalty to House Malfoy they were not willing to simply give in to outside pressure. This meant that House Scott when they left for the long trek north they prepared to siege the town, and its keep that the Order of the Green Dragon said was so heavily defended. House Scott left Tree Hill alongside their vassal houses and the sworn houses and made the long trek northward towards the village of Pomer. House Oakheart would send large forces under the command of Anakin Oakheart of whom was joined by his son Lucas Oakheart of whom was increasingly hateful towards his father for continuing to not get revenge for the death of Thomas Oakheart by Dan Scott, and Lucas was using this as a chance to build fame outside of his father in order to start his own cadet branch of the family with his sister Leah Oakheart, but was playing his father into believing he was trying to rebuild their relationship. During the times they were riding Lucas rode his horse beside Marvin Scott a man who despite being his cousin he barely had known and he came to find that the two had a lot in common, and they begin to build a true relationship.

Loras. Dylan. You two are my cousins, and that means there is a trust between us that there just simply cannot be between those who are not blood. I need you to watch the Scotts. Especially Dan Scott. He is a twisted man, and he is not someone with whom I hold any level of trust. Given the chance I don't know what he's truly capable of.
William Lovie III.

When the Scott's were given command of the taking of Braedin William knew that with all the conflict between himself and the Scott's due to his affair with Brooke he would need someone to watch them, and thus he would recall his cousins from House Tyrell to Lucerne. It was decided that the majority of the forces of House Tyrell would follow the Scotts in the taking of the heavily populated and defended town of Braedin. Alongside assisting in the siege they would be placed in a position of watching Dan Scott in secret and seeing what manner of loyalty he showed during the campaign. Nearly four days into the trek he was greeted by the horse of Loras Tyrell riding up beside him, and the two of them came to ride together the rest of the way talking about random things. When they arrived they didn't join the main camp and instead passed west where they took control over the small village of Pomer where they left portions of House Faust to maintain its control and to make sure no one left the town and warned everyone else.

Scouting the Keep

Scouting Braedin.jpg
We had been given some small amounts of information about the town due to turncoats that had fled the forces of House Curtley but basically we were walking in blind before we scouted the city. It was all a part of the danger, but I knew I had to succeed or else everything north of us would fall apart.
Lucas Scott

Lucas Scott, and his cousin Marvin Scott were placed in a leadership role by William Lovie III. for the purposes of this siege and as such they took a small elite group of troops and during the middle of the night they went and surveyed the defenses of Breadin. When they reached the outskirts they were clearly able to see the true extent of the defenses, and realized quite quickly that the town was defended by what appeared to be a large keep that while it didn't surround the entire town it defended what must have been the House Curtley Estate alongside the center of the town. As they returned to camp and all the scouts begin to flood back they attempted to find the most simple way of taking the keep without taking horrendous casualties. Loras Tyrell advised that his scouts reported to him that the northern part of the town appeared to be undergoing some sort of construction and that he believed he could use this too his advantage and attack that section with House Tyrell and his sworn houses. While this was happening the entire castle had been surrounded, and thus Dan Scott would arrange for a parley with the members of House Curtley. Joining Dan in the meeting were the Patriarch's of the other vassals present and many of their heirs, while House Curtley sent their prince in the form of Barister Curtley II. and a few of the defense commanders to meet with them.

I knew that they would want us to join with their kingdom. It was there way. They took Fairmarket. They took the Riverlands. We were next, and I knew that if I wanted my people to live then I would be forced to do what they wanted. No help was coming from the Malfoy's. Perhaps it was time to accept a new leader.
Barister Curtley II.

As they were leaving for the meeting it was the Tyrell's that revealed to several others the true directive of William Lovie III. through his own writing, but they worked hard to keep that they had revealed this truth so that they could do as William wanted and see if Dan would be loyal. Dan Scott would outline the terms of surrender, and made sure to note that William Lovie had said that they would retain control of Braedin but they would need to swear oaths of loyalty to the Kingdom of Lucerne. Dan Scott though would deviate heavily from the offer made by the King when he lied and said that a demand had also been made to allow a garrison of their castle until the conflict was over, and he did this directly in front of Dylan Tyrell of whom knew the true orders from William but remained silent. The last terms were obviously not acceptable to the prince, and so he regrettably rejected the surrender and prepared to return to the castle. As he was leaving he was told by Loras Tyrell that the Scotts had planned to have him captured and all his men killed. Hearing this just as he was leaving Barrister would return to Braedin with the belief that House Tyrell was on their side more then House Scott, and because of this it would affect the situation with Braedin. When Barrister Curtley II. returned to Braedin he met with the commanders and discussed how House Tyrell had told him that he was in danger and that only they had kept him from being killed.

My news caused a split between the parts of the leadership that wanted to fight to the death, and the parts of the leadership that wanted to surrender without bloodshed. Seeing the size of the enemy I knew we couldn't win, and thus for our survival I made the decision to allow House Tyrell to save us.
Barrister Curtley II.

The leadership of Braedin led by House Curtley became divided under the opinions of though's that wanted to speak to this House Tyrell and get them to accept the surrender of the city, while the other side wanted to basically fight to the death under the leadership of Varin Curtley. Barrister the heir of House Curtley said that he had talked openly with the prince of House Tyrell and that this young man appeared very much to want them to survive. Others would argue that Barrister was being used, and just didn't know that. The argument raged throughout the night, and Barister Curtley the Lord of the city remained passive until finally siding against his heir and deciding to fight hoping relief would come from Westbridge. His son was utterly shocked that his father had turned against him, and fled the room with several of his loyalists for the northern gate. Barrister when he arrived

The Siege

Varin Curtley

An attack from all sides of the castle was exactly the only manner in which the siege was going to be succesful. My son Lucas advised me that we shouldn't leave the Tyrell's with so much time and space in the north but what could they do to stop my victory.
Dan Scott

With knowledge of how truly defended the town was they prepared for the siege the next day as they knew that was their time frame that they had to complete the siege and take control of the town. Lucas planned to have House Scott, and its Vassals move against the town from the south, while House Tyrell and its sworn houses moved against the northern side of the town. This plan was coupled with the silent constructions of his cousin Marin Scott who had constructed several secretive devices which he believed would allow the troops to enter the fortress unhindered from any fire that might come their way. These moveable siege towers were something he had devised while drawing and this would be the first time he had a chance to use them. As this was going on House Tyrell was already in position in the north, and thus was sitting waiting for what Mace hoped would be a message from House Curtley. While the north was peaceful the southern side which was defended by Varin Curtley was provoking the actions of House Scott. Varin had his men fire shots into the field in front of where the House Scott men were mobilizing, and blew his horns all night long to try and keep the preperations from being made.

The Tyrells Move

House Tyrell Moving.gif
Marin was dithering about with his fantasy siege machines, and I was going to take the castle before any of them knew what was happening. I sent a single scout to the northern gate with a letter. A letter which would mean victory for me, and another slap in the face of the Scotts.
Mace Tyrell II.

As the forces of House Scott moved their forces into position for an attack the following day, the forces of House Tyrell would move another plan into action. Mace Tyrell devised a plan where he would take control of the town through the relationship that he had built with the leadership of House Curtley, and his son Loras had played the game perfectly to the point that during the morning Barrister Curtley II. would sneak out of the northern gate and meet with the leadership of House Tyrell. The plan was for House Tyrell to enter the northern gate peacefully, and do this before House Scott sacked the city Barrister would lead the front echolons of House Tyrell into the gate, and they would move into the cities northern side at nearly the same time that House Scott made their attack on the southern gate.

The Fall of Braedin

House Tyrell Victory.jpg
I alongside my men pushed the machines to the walls, and the gate in the belief that there was a battle to be fought, but in fact the battle was over.
Lucas Scott

As the forces of House Tyrell moved into Braedin the forces of House Scott moved against the southern gate completely unaware that fighting was happening on the southern wall. The forces of House Scott moved slowly across the field using their siege machines that blocked fire, and thought this was the reason for the lack of firepower against them, but instead it was because the southern gate was falling to House Tyrell. As they reached the gatehouse the gate door opened, and Mace Tyrell II. walked towards the machines letting them know that the battle was over. Dan Scott, and Mace Tyrell II. would nearly come to a duel, but Loras, and Lucas were able to calm the situation down, and losses were minimal outside of the defenders who lost significant numbers in the suprise attack by House Tyrell.
