Raventree is a large town located within the Kingdom of Lucerne, and the Grand State of the Riverlands, and controlled by House Blackwood. Raventree is the controlling seat of House Blackwood of whom are an influential and powerful house, and because of this Raventree has been their central source of power for their history, and is the center of the province of Raventree.
Raventree was founded by the early members of House Blackwood, nearly immediately following their arrival in the Riverlands, and following the Downfall of Numeron.
The Town[]
The Castle[]
The castle has high, ancient stone walls with moss climbing up them. There are two huge, square towers flanking the gate and a square tower at each angle in the wall. It is also defended by a deep moat lined with stone. Inside the walls there is a muddy outer ward, a cavernous timber keep and a godswood.
Lord Blackwood's solar is large and airy, with great beams of dark oak. Wool tapestries adorn its walls, while latticework doors with panes of diamond-shaped yellow glass overlook the godswood.
Raventree's godswood contains a dead, ancient weirwood of colossal size. Every evening at dusk hundreds of ravens come and roost all night on the dead weirwood as they have for thousands of years. It is claimed to have been poisoned by the Brackens.

Government[]
The City of Raventree has several high level government officials that make their homes within the city, and each of them has a different responsibility and ultimately a different level of say in the city. The three people are the Mayor of Raventree of whom is the civilian leader of the city of Raventree. The second person is the Lord Marshal of the city and this person is the commander of the military forces of the city. The third and final member is the Blackwood Lord of whom is the Leader of the province of Raventree, and thus while having less power over the city he is a very powerful man.
