The Realm of Dale is a large Dwarven and Human Kingdom located in northern Thedas and devided between the Human controlled lands and the Dwarven controlled mountains each led by their own leadership but coming together at a council at the fortress of Dale.

The Realm of Dale is dominated population wise by four major centers in the form of Erebor, Amon Rudh, Dale, and Esgaroth of which together form more then half the population of the Kingdom with Esgaroth the wealthiest, Dale and Erebor the most populated and Amon Rudh the smallest.

The Realm of Dale is ruled over by the two Kings in the form of the King under the Mountain who rules over the Dwarves, and then on the other side stands the King of Dale of whom rules over the humans of Dale. Together the two share a constant requirement under the laws of Dale to meet on a monthly basis meaning there must always be communication and both kings are raised to understand the importance of the relationship between the two people.

The humans of Dale are dominted by the Atlantians of whom have protected themselves in the area for generations following the Downfall of Numeron, and have somewhat become culturally Frankish while retaining their bloodline and longer lifespans.

The Realm of Dale is divided religiously between its Atlantian, and Dwarven populations but in terms of importance the religious differences between the two have never caused issues, and has always been a peaceful part of the history of the Realm of Dale. The Atlantian/Numenorian section of the Realm of Dale are worshipers of the Atlantian Pantheon, and in this worship they are centralized under the Dalish Church of the Holy Seven which is centered in Dale and controls the religion in Dale.

The Realm of Dale was originally founded by the Dwarves of whom colonized the mountains under the command of Karak Ankor, and throughout this early time the Dwarves ruled alone but as the Dwarves and Elves fought they would increasingly devide against Karak Ankor aligning themselves with the increasing population of humans and the Elves of Zelhinir. The coming of the Numenorians led to the region being heavily populated by Atlantians and this would lead to the founding of Esgaroth, and Dale of which Dale was built by the Dwarves directly at the entrance of Erebor on a hill linking the two nearly together. Following the Downfall of Numeron the Dwarves and humans of Dale would align together forming the Realm of Dale and conquering the lands surrounding linking together the basin into the Realm of Dale.
