The Rebellion of Low Swabia was a rebellion within the Grand State of the Stormlands by the Principality of Low Swabia in an attempt to expand there control in Swabian dominated areas outside of their lands. The Rebellion of Low Swabia would merge into the Second Lucernian Purge following the movement of both Isabel Breban, and Theoderic Weitlest northward with both attempting to gain revenge on Marius Scott and thus bringing him northward in an attempt to stop them.

A side result of the Rebellion of Low Swabia would be the resulting Rebellion of Arennis where seeing the departure of the Tree Hill army for the Oakheart region the leadership of House Arennis attempted a rebellion to gain more independence. This secondary rebellion would become the center of retreat for many of the more extremist leaders and members of the Rebellion of Low Swabia.

The Rise of the Cult of Ceowald would be one of the primary background issues that led to the Rebellion of Low Swabia. Historically the religiously Dragonoph Swabians of Low Swabia had created there own temples known as Cults and these cults were led by individual priests who over time gained immense amounts of political sway. The Cult of Ceowald would rise to prominence preaching a brand of Swabian nationalism which became very popular in the smaller villages and most critically among many young nobles of Low Swabia and this would lead to a rise of this nationalistic fevor among the young nobles of Low Swabia.

The rebellion of Low Swabia would be sparked by the rise of Leodarius Heldven to Earl of the Principality of Low Swabia, and his Swabian nationalism brought about major changes in the principality including the rise of Swabian raids into the lands around Low Swabia. Under the leadership of Leodarius the Swabians begin attempting to spark a conflict and this reaches its apex with the killing of Dorin Crane a man who had worked to establish colonies of Swabians outside of Low Swabia and was a major resistence to war. The Killing of Dorin Crane would lead to the Crane occupation of Skorraholt and during this violent occupation it was Leodarius that used this as an excuse to begin launching assaults from Low Swabia into Cranehold. The Treaty of Skorraholt would end the ourtight violence but also led to Leodarius to attempt to find new allies and he went about this by sending his brother Emerich Heldven to Nortburg for the Tournament of 5120 where Emerich was able to make a deal with the Circle of Magi there to gain their support against their enemies. The Low Swabian army puts Castle Oakheart under siege but due to the desperate defense of the defenders the castle doesn't fall immediately leaving the Swabians forced to continue the siege. Following the burning of Oakheart, and the start of the siege of Castle Oakheart it was Peter Scott that led a force from Tree Hill towards Oakheart where they had an objective of ending the conflict. The death of Leodarius at the Battle of Kaldbakr would shatter the Swabian nationalists who scattered into the forest leaving the path to Kolavik wide open to the army of Marius Scott who marched against it intent on ending the conflict. Marius and his forces would arrive at the city of Kolavik and under the new leadership of Earl Ranarius Heldven II. the defenders were unwilling to fight as Leodarius was and thus begin the negotiations with Marius to end the conflict.

Background

Rising Tension in Cranehold

Grimwald during his first term as Ordenmarshal would make active attempts to show his loyalty to Dustin Crane including the targeting of several Swabian peaceful cults in the area, and while this did help his influence in the city it also begin sparking the rise of several nationalist cults back in Low Swabia.

Cults of Low Swabia

The Rise of the Cult of Ceowald would be one of the primary background issues that led to the Rebellion of Low Swabia. Historically the religiously Dragonoph Swabians of Low Swabia had created there own temples known as Cults and these cults were led by individual priests who over time gained immense amounts of political sway. Under the rule of Earl Ecwald Heldven the rules on cult preaching was lessened and this allowed priests to gain control of other cults and thus expand their control to many cults thus forming larger and larger cults. This expansion was eventually halted under the rule of Earl Hardulph Heldven but by this point many cults had become as powerful as Landgraves in other provinces. The Cult of Ceowald would rise to prominence preaching a brand of Swabian nationalism which became very popular in the smaller villages and most critically among many young nobles of Low Swabia and this would lead to a rise of this nationalistic fevor among the young nobles of Low Swabia.

Tree Hill Counterattack

We worked for peace. We did everything we could to stop this moment from happening. We have been given no choice now. Time to show them why they should have chosen peace.
Marius Scott

The attack by the Swabians was immediatly sent back to Tree Hill through scouts, and boats and this information reached Leiblinshire, and Klausburg before Tree Hill. House Leiblin under Ealdorman Adelbrand Leiblin would react immediatly and Adelbrand sent his sons Manfred Leiblin, and Godfrey Leiblin to rally the Leiblin vassals while Adelbrand and his daughter Ludwina Leiblin would lead the main force of Leiblinshire towards Deltevh Hold. While this was happening it was House Klausburg which came under the push of Fabian Klauseburg. Having recieved the news that the Swabians were attackign it was Wolfrum Klauseburg that attempted to rally forces to send to assist in the resistence of the Swabians. While he and his brother Archibald Klauseburg were preparing this it was Fabian that arrived at Klausburg and joined by a force of Circle of Magi, and Nighting men they would meet with the Klauseburg leadership. Making it clear that any attempt by Wolfrum to intervene would result in the killing of their daughters and their own imprisonment back at Lucerne. Hearing this it was Wolfrum that relented and agreed to stay out of the conflict, and going further it was Fabian that had the bridges of Klausburg closed thus leaving naval reinforcements unable to quickly move to Brakeheart Hold.

Blocking Klausburg

I'm sorry milord. The bridges have been sabotaged by Swabians. It won't be operational for weeks at a minimum.
Otwin of Klauseburg

Marius’s boats arrive at the edge of Klausburg before the rest of the fleet, and as he and Alke look out at the city growing before them they are confused to see the bridges are down. As they get closer a boat pushes off from the Klausburg dock and moves towards them. Meeting with the boat captain they are told that the Klausburg bridges were sabotaged and cannot be raised as of now and will take weeks to repair. Landing their fleet on the north shore they unload the army from the boats, and not waiting for the main fleet to come to shore they begin after only a quick unloading and preparation to begin a fast march towards Brakehart Hold.

Relief of Castle Oakheart

As they get closer to Brakehart Hold they increasingly told of the danger to Oakheart Castle and thus they send word behind them that they are heading towards the Castle instead of Brakehart Hold.

Second Battle of Brakeheart Hold

Odothus Schmild and the second Tree Hill division would arrive at the outskirts of Brakeheart Hold where they found that the roads were already clogged up with refugees fleeing from the area. Odothus would rally these retreating refugees and spending several days recruiting from the area he gathered hundreds to his force. While this was happening it was Odothus that had placed the hold under a heavily scouted siege as he feared that he could be ambushed from other Swabian forces. This approach delayed the outcome of the siege but also put him in a safer position as at this point they still believed the Swabians were going to be victorious at Oakheart and thus the whole area might collapse.

Second Battle of Deltevh Hold

Burning of Cranehold

Battle of Heldencrane Hold

Adelhard would return to Cranehold following the Swabian rebellion and during this period he would take part in the defeat of a large Swabian army at the Battle of Heldencrane Hold and would move from there back to Skorraholt to take command of the occupation there.

Ambush of Estrid Orane

Vengeance of Orival

Occupation of Skorraholt

While in command of the occupation of Skorraholt during the rebellion it was Adelhard Krundwelter that would deport hundreds of young Swabian girls sending them eastward to the lands of House Krundwelter, and also executed hundreds of young Swabian men leading to him becoming quite hated in the city.

Invasion of Low Swabia

Sack of Dolavik

Adelhard would sack the Swabian town of Dolavik, and while he would eventually be called off by the leadership from House Scott the damage was done as the town's walls and most of its buildings had been damaged in some way by the sack of Adelhard on the town.

Battle of Kaldbakr

Marius would be victorious at the Battle of Kaldbakr, but would during this battle also kill Fromaldus Maldven III. which earned him the hatred of Fromaldus lover Theoderic Weitlest of the Circle of Magi. Isabel Breban would survive the defeat of the Society of the Lost Fox in the Battle of Kaldbakr and escaping into the forests of Low Swabia she joined with a force led by Swabian nationalists and continued to push them down a road of war despite the overall Swabian movement having been defeated at the Battleof Kaldbakr.
