Saladin
Salif Saladin Shapir the better known in the Western world as Saladin, is a Kurdish Nestorian Christian, who became the Sultan of Nehekhara during the events of the Rise of Lucerne, as well as the head of the Shapir Dynasty.

Salif was born in the city of Tikrit in the northern section of the province of Iraq, and during his youth his father Abu Shapir was the High Satrap of the State of Babylon where he ruled over a large Kingdom of sorts but was also quite famous for his long time affair with the at the time Sultans daughter. Salif's father when he was nine years old would kidnap his long time mistress in the form of the Sultans daughter following her revealing to him that she was pregnant and following this news the Sultan would attempt to strip the Satrap from the Shapir Dynasty instigating a war between Babylon, and the Empire. With his fathers lands at war and only nine years old he would be sent west to his fathers ally in Syria where he stayed in the city of Damascus with his fathers mistress and his sisters. During his time in Damascus he grew to hate his fathers mistress and as his father turned the tides and it became clear he would win the civil war he would grow to hate her further as his father placed the baby he had with the mistress as his heir over Salif, and over Salif's two older brothers. Travelling eastward to Al-Haikk following the victory of his father he would be forced to watch from within the city as his two older brothers rebelled against his father, and both were caught before they could escape the city and both were executed. Salif would be locked within the Tower of Babylon within the city of Al-Haikk following the murder of his two brothers, and as this continued the madness of his father led his fathers old ally in Syria to turn against him and he led an army against Al-Haikk which might have caused the deaths of millions if not for Salifs father being killed by his own palace guardsmen and his long time mistress and now wife being raped and murdered by these same guards. When the High Satrap from Syria arrived with his army he would release Salif from his imprisonment and before anyone could object he also had the bastard brother of Salif murdered leading to Salif being placed as the new Sultan of Nehekhara.
