Taimen Scarlet is the son of Saiden, and Jessica Scarlet making him a member of House Scarlet. Taimen has one sibling in the form of Urmen Scarlet of whome is his older brother, and following an injury that left his with a horrible limp he has been forced to put the sword away, and his brother now does administrative tasks for House Scarlet inside of Hearthglen. Taimen Scarlet, and Kristen Cole would be married after it was the last demand of Josh Cole in order for his forces to turn against Bolten and to the side of Lucerne.
Taimen grew up in the shadow of his handsome, and charismatic brother Urmen, and throughout their youth his brother was constantly showing off his greatness and superiority to Taimen a fact which led to a distinct hatred between the two of them. Finally at the age of fifteen Taimen could no longer accept his brothers abuse of him, and not wanting to be second fiddle in his father's eyes he menipulated his brother into using a rope swing to swing into water. The rope swing had been damaged by Taimen so that it would break when someone tried to swing out on it, and although when he arrived Urmen didn't like the feeling of it he felt honor bound to complete the dare and thus he swung out and when he far out he felt the roap snap and when his leg hit the ground he knew everything had changed for him. With Urmens injury his future in the military of House Scarlet and thus Taimen became the new favored son of Saiden, and thus he followed his father into the Invasion of Westbridge. Following the Invasion of Westbridge Taimen accompanied his father's force as they moved towards Lorderon to assist in the defence of the region. Taimen would leave his now pregnant wife Kristen Cole in Lorderon while he travelled with his father in the effort to take northern Bolten, and he did this with great success, but was suprised when his wife left Lorderon and returned to the Cole lands as she sent him a letter saying she didn't feel safe in Lorderon after everything that had happened.

Founding of Hearthglen
- “Often it is the menipulative, and the cruel are handed the rewards they have not earned. House Scarlet was the beginning of my attempt to change that. If House Scarlet could be uplifted through loyalty and honor, then every house knew that was now a possibility.”
- — William Lovie III.
Hearthglen was founded during the early reign of William Lovie III., and its founding was meant to facilitate House Scarlet into a Arch Lords House, and to expand the control of the kingdom into the area of Fairmarket, and eventually the Riverlands. Thousands of workers were sent eastward where the location of Hearthglen was chosen nestled into the mountains, and under the direction of the Order of the Grey Dragon, and House Scarlet the city of Hearthglen grew. Becoming the seat of House Scarlet, it became the site for the entirety of the family, as well as increasing population as the vassals of House Scarlet, as well as many hundreds of poor peasents from the west migrated into the new town. Saiden, and his brothers would usher in a new era when William Lovie III. would visit the city, and give Alexandros Scarlet the ring that would bind House Scarlet as the Arch Lord of Hearthglen, and a member of the Lucernian Council.
Civil War in Lucerne
Main Article : Lucerne Civil War
The Lucerne Civil War It was the second time Lucerne had bled from its own, and it had to be the last. | ||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
With the valley clear of Bill, and Sean Lovie, William went about attempting to gain control by eliminating those that were loyal to his father, but most of all he declared war on his father's supporters and very soon after doing this he came to understand that Sean Lovie had taken control of the city of Berne which he didn't even know existed. Under Alistair Bedroogen the loyalists loyal to William were sending word to William outside Berne for the first bit of the control by Sean and thus for this early time they knew many of those loyal to Sean or at least to afraid to resist Sean. With this knowledge William rallied the Order of the Red Dragon, alongside a large force of House Lovie and sent this large force to besiege Berne. When his forces arrived there he they saw that Berne was a death trap, and that while they could feasibly attack the city the casualties would be horrendous and on top of that they might not even succeed. Knowing this William ordered them to dig in, and make sure no assistance came from land, and they were forced to live off the small parcel of land within Berne, and to burn their internal supplies. With the front door shut for the moment William went about his plan to take control of Berne which would revolve around building a tunnel from Lucerne into the rear of Berne and fighting inside from that direction, while also hoping to starve out the defenders so that they would surrender. As William devised his plan where they would complete the underway in its route to Berne and thus they would break in behind the defences and take the city from within, the Order of the Red Dragon begin having difficulties holding the main entrance as the Orcs in the region were a constant problem. Knowing they needed to be somewhat quick with their seige they were in trouble as unfortunately the tunneling behind Berne would take some time, and so he needed to block the front of Berne without having his army sitting there for the four years the underway would take to complete.
In order to do this William sent emissaries from the Order of the Green Dragon to meet with the Kingdom of Quel'Thalas whose forest extended close to the boundaries of Berne and thus would be able to assist in blocking them in if they so chose to do. The Order of the Green Dragon was sent and led by Demi Hill of whom was accompanied by Franklin Brent and his wife who led a force of some six hundred House Brent forces to act as guards for the mission. When his emissaries arrived they were greeted by Legolas, and Alleria Windrunner of whom were accompanied by nearly three hundred Sindar Elves, and they would greet them with friendship and take them to Darnassus. In Darnassus they would be treated to a beautiful feast and Alleria took Franklin and his wife around the capital before they would have the meeting later that night. Seeing the size and beauty of Darnassus, and the kindness of the Windrunner siblings Franklin would have a very high opinion of the Sindar Elves, and he took this opinion into the meeting that night. At the meeting they found that Quel'Thalas was willing to do this in return for an alliance with them which Demi Hill was quick to give them, as William was more then willing to make an alliance with the Elves. Legalos would lead a force of some eight hundred men to a forward forest that they would fortify and from there they would be able to adequately block the Orcs from being able to interfere in any real way. So with the front door closed his forces returned to Lucerne while a small contingent remained along with a larger force of the Elves of Quel'Thalas. As they were leaving Alleria Windrunner also said that she would be joining them with some two hundred heavily trained and equipped Sentinels at the main Lucerne camp, and this was once again quickly accepted by Demi Hill. As things were happening outside the city and making the siege move positevely inside the city there was chaos as Sean Lovie lost his mind and was the source of madness and chaos for the citizens. Ezio after saving the life of Thomas Lovie and watching Allison Arryn die would decide to move agressively to allow William into the city, and thus would make his way to the western tower and prepare to send a message to the Lucernians sieging the city. Ezio enclosed in the message the entirety that he knew about the defences of Berne, and a message that the city was ready to be joined with William's forces. He had hoped that if he gave as much information that William would still attack even if he didn't believe Ezio, but he also understood the distinct possiblity that William wouldn't believe him and would just continue to siege the city. Ezio waited at the tower for some time alongside the rebels that he had gained control of, and waited patiently for a response. He got his anwser when a Lucernian messenger approached the tower, and sent a letter up to Ezio. In the letter William told Ezio that he needed to come down from the tower so that they could discuss this, and that no harm would come to him if he did this. For all Ezio knew William had become his fathers son since the last time he had seen him, and thus suffering from the same madness as his brother, but he knew he had to do something so he trusted the devil he didn't know over the mad man that he did. Ezio gave command of the tower over to his top man in the form of Martin Arryn of whom had snuck his way into the tower and convinsed the men to join the rebellion.
When Ezio got to the bottom of the tower he was grabbed by some five men all clad in golden armor, and these men escorted him to the Lucernians camp. One of the men idetified himself as James Junnsworth and told Ezio that if he planned to harm the king he would be doing it over all of their bodies. When he arrived at the camp he immediatly knew which one William was when he saw the golden haired boy walking up to him in his magnificant armor. Restrained by the men around him he saw how little he was trusted by the arranged forces, but he wasn't bitter as he could understand their fear. He spoke as best he could and told William of what was happening inside the fortress, and that every day they delayed the citizens inside were being killed in ever increasing numbers. As the conversation continued Ezio accompanied William inside his tent with Jasper, Leven, Marcel Lovie II., and Draco Highmore and then spoke openly of the murder of Allison, the rapes, and for Andrew the most horrifying news that Amber Heard was captured and now held in a cage beside Sean's throne. Ezio would at this point tell William about much of the things he had done for his father, and would make William understand that he had done all he could to help him after he had learned how brilliant and how much potential William had. Leven would suggest that during their initial attempts to clear the gatehouse that much of what Ezio suggested he did made sence as to why they found it so easy in certain places to get what they wanted. Infiltrating the Tower
With Ezio done telling him what was happening William told him he needed some time to think and that while he trusted him, he needed to plan on the best way forward. Ezio told him that he had control of the first tower, and thus he could get some of William's men inside that tower if that would make him feel better about the whole thing. William liked this plan, and it was then that he asked whether or not Hanna Arryn, and her sister Aria were safe inside the city, and Ezio told him that House Arryn was now in hiding in the city outside of Byron Arryn who was being forced to sit and watch Allison's body be violated by Sean Lovie. Andrew was thankful that Hanna was fine, and because of this he told Ezio that he would have his anwser in an hour. With that William called in his commanders and they discussed their options about how to move forward. After talking for some time it became clear that they needed to gather more troops, and especially Andrew wanted to have some of his up and coming leadership involved so that they would feel important to him. He planned to travel to Forks where he would meet with these leaders and make them aware of their involvement and then they would launch the attack. He got Ezio back in the tent, and he told him that he needed to allow his men to take control of the first tower, and that this would amount to his test of loyalty. Ezio agreed without hesitation and left with Jasper, and Leven to make the arrangements of which Franklin Brent would volunteer to command the first forces into the tower. Emmett was left in command of the siege while William was gone alongside the commanders, and this would be the situation that was left as William left for Forks. Franklin Brent would lead a force of men alongside his friend Dexter Hill, and several others of whom they would enter the first tower using massive ropes hung down by the loyalist Arryn rebels within the tower. Meeting in Forks
Sneaking Inside
When William Lovie arrived back at Berne flanked by the forces of House Swan, Scarlet, Clegane, Starke, Martell, Skane, and many of their vassals he entered the command tent and prepared alongside his commanders the method by which they would do this. Ezio told them that the only real way into the valley of Berne was to take control of the towers defending the passes, and this was possible since they controlled the first tower. From the first tower they would attack the second tower, and then the third, and fourth control towers which would allow them to bring the entire army into the Valley where the defenders would be unprepared for their entry. Once this was achieved they must take control of the fifth tower which was inside the City of Berne itself and was connected through a long tunnel which could be locked from the inside meaning if they failed to take it before they were noticed it would be shut and they would have to attack the main walls.
With this plan in place William Lovie would send the forces of House Scarlet led by Darion, and Saiden Scarlet to enter the First Tower where they would push their full forces and they alone would be responsible for working alongside the rebels in order to take control of the towers. They would be assisted by the Order of the Golden Dragon of whom was forced to follow William Lovie of whom was going to assist here alongside Edward Cullen and several members of the Order of the Blue Dragon, as well Hedrik Clegane would convinse Andrew to let him join the forces attacking the towers. Entering the tower and joining the Arryn loyalists, and Franklin Brent and his forces that had initially taken control of the tower from the rebels and had held it while the main forces gathered. At that final moment Robb, and Jon Starke joined the assault group and this would force William to also take Wilheim alongside with him as Wilheim now wouldn't take no for an anwser. Battle of BerneMain Article :Battle of Berne
With the main force now preparing to enter the first pass into Berne they only needed to see the responce from the second tower to know when to move in, and they would get that call the first night as they would be signaled by a flag hanging from the wall set out by the tower forces. The Tower forces would wait until night, and that night as they moved forward the few gaurds meant to make sure such infiltration of the towers were not possible were rebels and thus they allowed the tower forces to infiltrate the towers, and within they found the mercenary forces of Sean Lovie in the form of the Stormblown. The fight for the tower was swift as with most of their forces asleep the few on sentry duty found themselves being attacked by a huge number of troops flooding into the tower. As the Stormblown moved to raise the alarm they found the alarm room locked, and when they finally broke inside they found inside several rebels of whom killed the Stormblown that tried to enter the room. With the tower taken Hedrik Clegane III. would raise the flag thus giving the main force the safe call to enter the first pass. Torgon Skane alongside the other commanders would move their forces alongside the Elves and reached the very edge of the first pass as the attack move forward, and during this they also moved forward with the siege machines that everyone hoped they would have no need of using. At the third tower they would basically be allowed in as the rebels had taken complete control over this tower, and the few members of the Stormblown that were present inside the tower were barely able to get out of their beds before they were killed by the vengeful rebels and the incoming Lucernians.
The fourth tower was the true test of the attack as while it was held by the forces of House Krinner who was a member of the rebellion the tower held the largest contingent of the Stormblown outside of the city itself. Robb Starke, and Wilheim Martell alongside Jon Snow would lead a contingent of forces east of the tower to cut off any kind of relief once the main attack went forward, and with that the main assault could begin on the fourth tower. As the Lucernians made their way into the tunnels approaching the fourth tower they were spotted by a Stormblown soldier of whom alerted the rest of the force to a betrayal, and with this becoming clear the forces of House Krinner would assemble under the command of Danzal, and Benjamin Krinner of whom defended the tunnel route heading towards the fifth tower so that none of the Stormblown could warn their comrades, and inside the tower House Krinner under the command of Oskar Kinner the defenders would block the gate into the alarm room thus preventing for a time the forces of the Stormblown from gaining entry to the alarm. A fierce battle would commense between the defenders in House Krinner and the Stormblown. As the forces of Lucerne attempted to enter the fight they were forced to attack through defended barriers quickly set up by the forces of the Stormblown in order to resist the attackers. During the fighting here Davion Scarlet would become famous for defeating the Stormblown second in command in single combat after they entered the last room of the tower and it was held by the Stormblown second in command. With his death the rest of the Stormblown slowly surrendered, and with that the flag was raised and the main army understood that the way into the valley was clear. The Final Tower
As the main army moved into the valley silently in the darkness of the night the tower forces moved into the tunnels approaching the fifth and final tower. Ezio had told them that they had to get to the other end without being stopped or else the way would be blocked and there would be no way in except a truly viscous fight for the valley. As they entered the tunnel and were only two minutes away everyone including the main force heard a massive horn go off, and the rebels told William that someone had set off one of the alarms of the towers. With this all sense of stealth went out the window and the tower force charged into the tunnel in the hopes of reaching the gate controls before it was shut. As they ran down the tunnel they watched as the massive portcullis gate was slowly shutting, and then suddenly as they were getting closer it slowed and then stopped and they could hear the cries of battle at the other side, and as they reached it they entered a brutal battle between members of House Arryn and the Stormblown who were trying to shut the gate. With the entry of the Lucernians the battle went away from them, but the Stormblown survivors were able to retreat in good form and make their way towards the Berne Keep where they would blow the alarm horn again and the Stormblown throughout Berne would retreat to the keep alongside those still loyal to Sean Lovie although that number was very slight now that House Arryn was in full rebellion. With the stormblown in full retreat the defenders that were on the wall moved completely into the rebellion allowing the main force to enter through the front gate, as the rebels opened the gate letting them inside. The rebels, and the tower forces would move throughout the city, and kill or capture anyone still flying the colors of the Stormblown and as well as this making sure that everyone knew that the city was Lucernian again and they had nothing to fear. Duel with Sean Lovie
As he entered the room Sean remained silent but the look on his face told Andrew that Sean had a plan and whatever happened this plan was something he believed could work. Amber Heard never thought she was going to survive to see William again, and the sight of him caused her to leap up and this led to great pain as the chain around her neck kept her stationary. Laughing at what had happened to Amber through the fact that she was crying and holding her neck the situation turned as William charged forward only stopped by Sean holding his sword to Amber`s neck.
Death is the End
Grabbing Sean by the shoulders he found his brother crying, and Sean grasped onto Williams arms as if to try and hold onto him. There was no resistence, and as William held the sword to his chest he held a moment and looked into Sean`s eyes waiting for his last words. Sean in that moment would tell William that Bill still lived and had gone west to France, and would begin to start an apology when William stabbed him through the chest and covered his mouth with his hand. Looking behind him at the lifeless body of Amber he would proceede to be overcome with rage and strangle Sean as the last of his life left him. Getting up he walked back over to Amber, and ignored the sounds of crashing as his men attempted to break there way through the gate, and the windows. Kneeling beside Amber he ripped some cloth from his turnic and covered her wound not wanting her to be seen like this. As he wiped her wound her arm would move up and grasp onto his.

Game of Rivers
- “The Riverlands were a prize that we just couldn`t walk away from. The ports, the navy, the armies, the population...everything was just far too much to not have within our control.”
- — William Lovie III.
The Kingdom of Lucerne following the capture of Berne, and the internal reorganization under William begin to heavily target the Riverlands for their next conquest. The region south of the Riverlands called Fairmarket was the first problem in the way as without control of Fairmarket then the threat of a land based offensive was going to be moot. Fairmarket was not very heavily populated but had two main population centers in the form of the large city of Fairmarket, and the western stronghold of Whellia. With this in mind the forces of House Starke, House Lannister, and House Scarlet would mobilize against Fairmarket. Representitives of the Kingdom of Lucerne were sent into Fairmarket, and the capital of the same name, and these diplomats were either killed outright or tortered and sent back nearly dead. Only in the west where House Wilde was dominent would the sent diplomats return safely. In the case of House Wilde when it seemed that conflict was coming they would send one of their members in the form of Andrik Wilde of whom would enter Fairmarket with the command to wait there with fifty men in case the defence failed. With diplomacy having failed the Invasion of Fairmarket was launched, by the combined forces of Lucerne of whom moved in three different spots against the defence of Fairmarket.
Invasion of Fairmarket
- “The Jennet line was broken and rotten by the time Lucerne arrived. If I had of wanted to resist, of which I didn`t want to. I would have never fought and died so that the Jennet`s could have one last bloodbath.”
- — Olivia Wilde
The leadership of Fairmarket was led by House Jennet of whom deployed their forces alongside nearly twenty thousand mercenaries hired from the Riverlands. While unreliable they gave them significant numbers and made a once easy invasion more of a problem. Eddard, Robb, and Brendan Starke led the forces of House Starke into the center of the attack. In the west Saiden, Darion, and other Scarlets led the attack but found that the forces of House Wilde and their vassals were reluctant to engage in actual conflict and were doing more retreating then anything elce. In the east the mercenarie forces of Fairmarket were joined by a small army sent from the Island of Frey of which were called freedom fighters but were sent by the Freys as an insult.
- “After the mercenaries broke and ran you knew it was over. We were not going to die with the fools that thought Frey`s and a mercenary band calling themselves the Whores Servents was enough to defeat the Kingdom of Lucerne.”
- — Olivia Wilde
With the weakest section of the Fairmarket forces standing on the eastern front, it was the objective of the Lucernians to target that area. Jamie Lannister would instigate a situation where the mercenaries would march during the day and then both armies would camp during the night both sides never exposing themselves. After five days of this the mercenaries and Freys were becoming less and less prepared for battle, and this was exploited on the sixth day when Jamie Lannister moved his men during the night. The Fairmarket forces noticed this and assembled their forces for battle, but their scouts were slacking and did not notice the divergence of the Lannister forces and focused on in front of them. While Jamie moved right at them two larger forces moved in from the sides and enveloped the Fairmarket force. After fighting for several minutes the Mercenaries accepted defeat and would surrender with little hold out fighting, while the Frey`s fled eastward back to the ships on the coast. News spread quickly but not quickly enough for the main Fairmarket force of whom was stuck in between the Starke`s and the Lannisters.
- “You almost wanted to punish the Wilde for the cowardess of the act, but how could you. They had destroyed our enemy and surrendered Fairmarket to us without much more of a fight.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
While this was happening the Wilde family determined the time was right to change sides, and under the guidence of Olivia Wilde returned nearly all of their forces to Whellia. Back in Whellia Olivia Wilde would lead some two thousand men at arms and a hundred knights towards Fairmarket and behind all the fighting going on in the center. All of this went on while the Scarlet forces moved towards Whellia slowly as they feared they were being lured into a trap, and it was around this time that they were joined in the fight by the forces of House Lovie who were finally arriving in the area and brought overwhelming numbers. Olivia though arrived at Fairmarket, and without alerting the defenders of the Wilde turning on them would use Andrik Wilde to allow Olivia Wilde and the army of House Wilde to enter the city. Entering the city they turned on the Fairmarket forces, and burned and pillaged the town before massacring House Jennet, and taking nearly all the nobles prisoner. As this happened the forces of House Lannister arrived at the gates of Fairmarket joined by the well aware Saiden Scarlet and recieved the bodies of House Jennet as gifts. Saiden Scarlet would want to take the Wilde family prisoner, but Catherine Lovie had arrived and under the orders of William Lovie III. would command House Wilde spared and handed control of northern Fairmarket, while House Scarlet was given the south.
Tully, and Blackwood Give in
- “The Tully`s were already blood, so I wasn`t surprised when they wanted to not shed any.”
- — Eddard Starke
When it came to the Riverlands the main powerbrokers were the most powerful house in the form of House Tully, and the dominent southern house in House Blackwood. These two houses learned of the destruction of Fairmarket, and immediatly the Tully`s made the decision to join Lucerne whatever was offered to them. House Blackwood would accept this as well, but many in the house wanted to resist for honor`s sake, but Brandyn Blackwood disagreed and invited the Lucernians to Raventree for a metting. Unwilling to meet in a unknown venue such as Raventree the meeting took place in Riverrun. The meeting in Riverrun would count in all the major houses of the Riverlands, and major elements from Lucerne including Catherine Lovie of whom led the Lovie delegation.
The Rise of Lucerne I saw the destruction of the world, and knew I had to stop it. There was nothing left to do but become bigger then everyone else. The Empire was never going to be the beacon the world needed it to be. Westros was on fire. The Bretonians had reached for the stars and been burned. And the old shadow of Numeron was fading far too quickly. It was left to us in Lucerne to change the fate of all those who wished to reject darkness. We were the last hope for a world who had long since given up on believing. |

``Were you as intimated the first time you were, or is it just me.`` ``When I came here to marry Catelyn I was beyond scared.`` He walked away and towards the mast, and I followed in behind him. ``Back then the tower you see in the center was nothing but a wall, and now look at it. Its funny the way things change.`` He stared out into the port, and behind us I looked and saw the form of my squire, and other nobles coming from beneath. My family vassals in Sigmund Mien, and Tirrion Fraizen came into sight and Tirrion gave me a bow as he caught glimpse of me looking. I laughed at the gesture of Tirrion who through his mother was my blood relative and was older then me, and yet he still managed to be beyond loyal. ``Will Lady Catelyn be meeting us on the deck alone.`` ``I would assume her brother Edmund will meet as well, along with any of the Lords that are in the city.`` He turned towards me and rested his hand on my shoulder. ``Never forget that you and I are Lords of Lands larger and more powerful then these Riverlords. While you may be intimidated by the larger port and the castles, never forget that they know what we represent. We represent a threat that their ships, and their trade cannot hope to resist.`` The boat finally reached the dock, and men poured themselves onto the side throwing ropes to the dock hands, and letting us go ashore. Following behind Eddard he was enveloped in an intimate hug by his wife Catelyn, and looking at the two I couldn`t help but be envious of that kind of love. I had married Jessica when I was very young and she was already past her bloom. She was a beautiful women I would never say otherwise, but her beauty hid an anger and pettiness that was entirely unbecoming. For years I tried to love her, but despite her good and loyal work for me she was still nothing I cared for truly. Not the way Eddard loved his cat. Not the way William loved Bella. It was just so much lesser then what it should be. ``Lord Saiden shall you accompany us.`` It was a question but the man saying it said it with a hint of laughter and I realized I must have looked ridiculous lost in thought standing on the edge of the boat. I turned and bid my squire Fredick Clegane II. to bring my sword shield and I followed behind Eddard. As we walked I looked into the bay and watched the ship of Jack Shephard, and the representatives of House Lovie that had been sent to further the talks. We all knew that with Riverrun so went the entire Riverlands, and other then some hot spots the talks were going extremely well especially with the constant threat of the large Lannister and Starke combining with my houses forces. ``Fredrick have you ever seen ships this big.`` The young boy looked around and he was so awe struck it made me laugh. ``No my Lord I havn`t.`` ``Well lets get moving, and perhaps we can find a pretty Brannish girl for you to marry while were here.`` It saddened me that this honorable young man was so mistreated by his father. Apparently his father had spent years working at a betrothal for his younger son, while letting poor Fredick the second of his name sit idle training with the Clegane forces. As he followed closely behind me I wondered whether there was some kind of silent failing in the father that had led to that kind of neglect, but the evidence was so widespread maybe loving your child unconditionally was the rarer act. Before I knew it we reached the base of the tower, and a giant tent was arrayed where Eddard, his wife and her brother the lord of Rivverun had gathered around a table. A skinny man in purple armor with a intricate beard approached me from the side, and clasped his hand on my shoulder. ``Lord Scarlet I bid you welcome to our beloved Riverlands.`` As he stared at me it dawned in his face that I had no idea who he was, and he laughed. ``I`m sorry my Lord where are my manners.`` He dusted his hands on his jacket before outstretching his hand for me to shake. ``I am Bryndan Blackwood son of Lord Tytos Blackwood of the Raventree. I am very glad to see your people today, as it is long due that Lucerne and Riverlands be joined together. In the coming days know that I am willing and greatly hopeful to help you with everything your people may need.`` Going back to the notes my Maester had given me on the boat, I remembered back to the Blackwood`s and realized the company I was with. Byrdan Blackwood was the heir to the seasoned but not elderly Tytos Blackwood, and despite being the third oldest was the heir. Apparently some kind of mishap had broken faith in the oldest boy, and since then Bryndan had become the voice of House Blackwood. Maester Seryn told me that the Blackwood`s would be beyond important to us, and thus without another moment pause I reached and shook his hand. ``Lord Bryndan I believe Raventree has a lot to gain from our friendship.`` |
Conflict in Bolten
House Cole turns away
- "I sat in that meeting and watched as the words of that madman Ramsey Bolten were echoed in Roose. Speaking to him afterwards I got the impression that he was no longer willing to deny his young bastard, and despite my honest chritisims he would not budge. It was in that moment I knew I couldn't watch as my family was destroyed because of the decisions of madmen. It was in that moment I turned my back on the fools in Dreadfort and charted my own path."
- -Josh Cole
As the war in Bolten rose to prominence it was Josh Cole that saw the error of conflict with Lucerne, and when Roose commanded all the banners to send their forces to Karhold for the attack on the west, it Josh that begin to bring the elements of House Cole back to Deephome where he begin to plan for what he wanted to do in this new Ramsey Bolten dominated Kingdom of Bolten. He begin sending messengers to Lorderon and would communicate that he was interested in discussing a meeting of the minds, which he wanted to happen on the river border of the two kingdoms. House Scarlet, and House Menathil would arrange the meeting, and would send a few men to join Diane in her hopeful diplomatic mission with Josh Cole. Diane Portmane would go about meeting Josh Cole on a barge in the river bordering the two kingdoms she would arrange the deal that gave House Cole the future control of a huge tract of land south of Lorderon and a position as Noble House within the Kingdom of Lucerne. Josh Cole would be impressed with the generocity they showed him, and in return for this he promiced that when the time came he would turn his forces against Bolten and allow the Lucernians to cross the bridge in peace. He would also demand that his daughter Kristen Cole would be married off, and he was offered Taimen Scarlet as the choice and learning how high up Taimen was in House Scarlet he was beyond happy to accept the offer. As the army of Bolten marched on Jeutenburg it was Josh Cole that lied and said that the forces of House Scarlet were threatening and he couldn't pull his forces back. Following this act of good faith Taimen and Kristen Cole would be married in the Temple of Lorderon thus sealing the arrangement between House Cole and the Kingdom of Lucerne.

``Well Lord Scarlet we are here, and prepared to discuss the issues at hand.`` I knew Lord Cole was a proud man, but for him to enter the room as if he was just damn important that we were wasting his time was quite annoying. The man had sent us letters begging us in careful words to take his people in and protect us, and perhaps that made him ashamed of his current weakened position. ``My King William third of his name has sent new offers for this meeting, and I`m sure a man of your understanding will see the judgement of a union of your houses and the Kingdom of Lucerne.`` Not much had changed in the new offers. More land was given to them, including some important port space in the west, but in terms of the real stuff it was more about the willingness to not force House Cole to intervene militarily unless completely neccessary that was going to excite this cowardly lord. ``Your King has become known for his rewards for those who please him, but my conserns lie with those he has destroyed when they misplease him.`` Many on our side of the table flinched openely at the insult to a king that not only I had great respect for. He had done so much for us in such a short time, and to hear someone besmirtch him nearly caused Tirion Fraizen to leap from his chair. Before anything could come of the comment I raised my hand to silence everyone before speaking. ``My King has only destroyed those that did not see the wisdom in joining with the winning side.`` I looked at the smug look on Lord Cole`s face and just wanted to reach across the table and smash him with my fist. Knowing that was going to somewhat derail the alliance talk I paused myself watching for a reaction, but Lord Cole didn`t respond he just begin speaking silently with the man to his left that I didn`t know. ``Judging from your history you shall surely see the wisdom of surviving.`` Baryn Shelt was off his chair before I had even finished speaking, and I knew I shouldn`t have gone that far, but the arrogance of this man to make us plead with him to join was infuriating. ``What do you suggest about my lords character.`` Laiden Rivers got up from my side and I saw the hint of movement towards his sword, and hoped to god sence would win out amongst the fools in this room. Knowing I had to calm the situation down, I spoke in the calmest tone I could possibly muster. ``Of course we mean no offence, but it is clear to everyone who is paying attention that the Boltens cannot win a conflict against Lucerne.`` Switching the insults to the Boltens seemed to alieve the persieved slight on his Lords honor and thus Baryn Shelt sat himself down once again. ``This may be correct but what promices do we have that your Kingdom will hold our current positions in regards to the future.`` I pushed the alliance papers to the side of the table indicating it would outline all of the anwsers he sought. ``My King has outlined the result of what your alliance with us will mean for your people.`` Without a second thought Baryn Shelt rose from the table and retreieved the alliance papers from William and brought them back to his Lord. Josh looked at the papers for some time and it was clear to me that he would see them fairly. A positon of Arch Duke within the hypothetical province of Westros. His loyal vassals all expanding to Grand Lords, and most importantly was the fact that not a single inch of his land was lost due to his alliance with us. `` I see here that King William is willing to agree to marriage contracts as well.`` This was obviously something he had been thinking on as it was a small point on one of the lines near the bottom. ``He is willing to listen to our advise on these matters yes that is correct.`` Leaning forward I knew I had been commanded to offer a good match, and alongside my brother Darius I had decided that my son Taimen as an offer, and if that was unsatisfactory then several of the daughters of my brother Darius would be offered instead. ``Well Lord Saiden is there any amongst your family that you would offer.`` His face had twisted from arrogance, and there was now a truly obvious look of excitement splashed across him. ``I have my son of whom is my oldest and heir to my position.`` I turned around and whispered for Laiden Rivers to leave the room and find my son. ``My commander will go and fetch my son.`` When I looked at him his eyes were shining as clearly he had not thought he was going to get such a significant offer from us. ``In return for such a proposal I would gladly offer my oldest daughter Kristen Cole.`` ``I would agree to this marriage.`` I knew the first thing we had to do was make sure his daughter wasn`t an ugly duckling, or was five, but the agreement was in place now. ``Excellent news.`` He made motions for his men to raise from the table, but I did not move nor did any of our men. ``We will need you to do certain things in order for us to know that you are on our side.`` He sat himself back down followed switfly by his men. ``And what would these things be Lord Saiden.``He probably already knew exactly what he would be forced to do, but knowing the man he wanted time to digest things in his mind. ``Firstly when the Boltens command you to move south, you will send none of your forces.`` ``This will be difficult especially do to the prisoners that are held by the Boltens.`` The way he said it was more like he was expecting us to get his hostages out of the Dreadfort instead of just giving a reason. ``This aspect is non negiotable but we will do our best to get your people out of Dreadfort safely.`` A look of genuine suprise came to his face as if he had no idea such a thing was even possible. ``A siege of Dreadfort is optimistic at this point don`t you think.`` As he spoke this Laiden returned throught the doors with my son Taimen in tow. Upon looking at my son this Lord Cole smiled aprovingly obviously happy that my son wasn`t a cripple or a fool. ``We will not need a siege quite yet. We have men prepared to free as many young ones as we can from the Bolten`s grasp.`` ``You have a man in the Dreadfort.`` He looked impressed as he said it, clearly understanding how difficult infiltrating the Dreadfort was. ``We do.`` |
Cult in Lorderon
- “The Cult was something that had started to enter the frame of reality some time before we learned of Arthas's true face. The cult had abducted people, and burned buildings but for all intensive purposes it was little worse then a roaving band of criminals, and thus we didn't say much.”
- — Imlad Menathil
Following the return of Edward Cullen to the city after his destruction of one cell of the cult that Arthas had formed it became clear to the leadership that Arthas had formed it in order to destroy Lorderon, and thus they went about dealing with the cult for the first time. After the conversation between William and Edward the decision is made to make Talia Menathil the new Lord of Lorderon, and she is given this immediatly after thus removing the taint of Arthas somewhat from Lorderon. This transfer of power doesn't go completely according to plan as during the ceremony for her gaining the title of Matriarch of the family, and the Arch Lord of Lucerne position the site is attacked by a force of cultists and many demons that a Magi with the cultists summons into the area. Edward, Gemma, and Hilary lead Talia out of the building and fight there way through waves of cultists, and are nearly trapped until a counter assault by Imlad Menathil breaks the attacking cultists and allows them to return her to the keep of Lorderon with her new power.

"This is terrifying news Edward as we know he has already disapeared from out eyes, and for all we know could already be inside Arnor. If he is there we know that Marcel is there, and I fear for what will happen." It was always unerving to hear William speak with anything other then confidence. His face moved from the vision and I knew he must be speaking to someone else. It was unfortunate that the only Magi stone that I was able to find was a one on one stone. This sort of conversation would have been much easier with a room stone. "William we need to immediatly send word to your cousin that Arthas is under no cercumstances to be trusted." "I will send word right now Edward." William left the vision, and I looked to my right to see that Imlad had entered the room, and he looked with wide eyes as he saw the means by which we were communicating. "Its good to see you prince Imlad." He was wearing his eagle armor, and he looked everything that he should of, but his eyes told me a story about the fear he was feeling. "You still have the presence of mind for titles in a time like this Edward?" "When I was young my father told me that manners were important. I can't forget that lesson even while we are potentially surrounded by enemies and have a looming disaster in the north." "The things our father's tell us when we are young." I would have laughed normally but the silence that followed made me shiver. It was minute after minute of this as we awaited the return of William, and I wanted him to come back to give me repreieve from the fear that filled the room. "Do you recall anything about this cult before we learned of Arthas?" I had only learned of them a few months ago, and from the way Medivh spoke of them they must have been something that was talked of. "The Cult was something that had started to enter the frame of reality some time before we learned of Arthas's true face. The cult had abducted people, and burned buildings but for all intensive purposes it was little worse then a roaving band of criminals, and thus we didn't say much." As he finished William reentered the vision. "I have made the neccesary message sent, but I fear that the Order of the Blue Dragon representative that was with Marcel has apparently been killed, and we don't know what is happening at this time." "We don't know anything bad has happened yet. We just need to keep our ears out Will." |
- “Alone Talia was still too young and naive to be the Lady of a land that large, but lucky for us she wasn't alone. Lucky for us Calia, and Imlad were loyal advisors and didn't have their own agendas other then helping their family.”
- — Edward Cullen
Talia would recall her sister Talia to her side, and alongside Imlad Menathil they formed a sort of Menathil council for the leadership of the land alongside Edward of whom advised them as best he could. Realizing the situation they were in they knew they needed more forces loyal to them in the city, and thus they decided to call the vassals, and ask for assistence from the nearbye Lucerne forces. As they begin to recall Menathil forces from the smaller villages, and towns they begin see that the cult had become aware of the situation and the cult summoned nearly its entire force into the capital and begin besieging sections of the city and ambushing and murdering loyalists to the Menathils. Sending word to the Riverlands, and Kul Tiras, and then the main Lucerne army south of Lorderon in the Scarlets, and the Cleganes they would beg for assistence saying that the streets were becoming a battleground.
- “The arrival of Kael'Thuzad was a terrifying experience as he raised thousands of dead into his ranks turning a controllable situation suddenly into something far worse.”
- — Edward Cullen
As fighting broke out in the streets Kael'Thuzad would abandon secrecy and led his command structure into the city where he and his other Magi would summon the dead to their side adding thousands into his ranks and causing great destruction. As this happened the citizens of Lorderon begin fleeing by boats in the dock out of the city, and those men that couldn't and the old would retreat into the Menathil Keep in the center of the city. Arming these citizens the defence of the keep would be expanded knowing they were defending to the last man. Edward Cullen, and Imlad Menathil led the defences with Edward using his Magi stone to alert the forces south of the wall of what was happening and making sure they knew they had to do something soon. Kael'Thuzad would raise buildings, and go about damaging the city, while he sent his commander Lord Gnarls eastward towards Kirin Tor where he was to capture the fortress and bring its knowledge back to him so that they could then leave for Arthas northward. Fighting would break out heavily in the port as the Cult would attempt to commendeer boats in their eventuall search to escape, and they would be resisted by the navy of Kul Tiras of whom had sent many ships to blockade the city, and provide support.
- “The Liche Ras Frostwhisper would come to the docks and I remember his look as he raised his hand and summoned creatures of darkness to him. He controlled them from the docks and I knew he alone had to be stopped lest he destroyed our entire fleet.”
- — Derek Proudmoore
Ras Frostwhisper would come to the dock and summoning hundreds of giant sea creatures that had long laid dead at the bottom of the sea outside Lorderon, and used these creatures to assault the fleet of Kul Tiras and push them back. The fleet was forced to pull back or risk destruction as these ancient creatures pulled entire ships under the water when they got close enough, and they were only able to destroy a dozen and lost nearly twice that number of ships in return.
Battle of Kirin Tor
- “This place is a place of learning and peace, and you desecrate it with your very presence. Your beliefs are failed, and today you shall learn how much failure your moral decadence has caused for you and all those that stand behind you Lord Gnarl.”
- — Medivh
Led by a mysterious Magi named Lord Gnarls the cultists would send a force to Kirin Tor as well in order to sack the Magi castle, and attempt to steal its stored knowledge for Arthas, despite the near impossiblity of this task and then getting north. During the inital movement towards Kirin Tor turncoats within the fortress of Kirin Tor would murder several high ranking members of the Magi organization including the high leader in Antonidas leaving the council shattered and left with three of its members with Jaina also in the capital and not inside Kirin Tor. With their leader dead, and the council reduced Medivh would stage a sort of coup using his own forces and took control of the Council of Kirin Tor and would imprison the remaining members of Kael'Thuzad's family including his son who attempted to murder him when he took him prisoner. Medivh would lead the forces loyal to Lucerne in defence of the Kirin Tor and was able to use the superior defences of Kirin Tor to massacre the inital wave of Cultists supported by demons that assaulted the fortress. As the battle reached the second wave though numerous Magi would turn to the side of Chaos, and the fighting got dire as the chaos cultists used these turncoats to enter Kirin Tor and were able to sack parts of the library.
- “The Kirin Tor could not fall or else all of Lorderon could be destroyed through the knowledge they gained in that vault. I had to move quickly and take the situation into our control again or I watched as Lorderon fell.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
As Kirin Tor became a battleground Saiden Scarlet would send Illen Purne one of his vassals alongside Kren Scarlet to relieve the Kirin Tor with a force of Kul Tiras, and native Lorderon troops. Arriving at the scene they found the cultist army flowing into Kirin Tor, and they would attack them from behind where the cultists were killed in huge numbers but managed to keep the Lucernians away for a time. Inside Lord Gnarls made his way through Vault after Vault inside Kirin Tor attempting to make his way to the deepest and most powerful infortmation, and as he did this Medivh would lead a skilled force of Magi and elementals behind him defeating Lord Gnarls luitenents one after another until both were nearing eachother. By this point Trimier would complete the summoning spell, and this allowed several dozen Blue Dragon Magi and their support troops to enter Kirin Tor, and they asisted in stemming the flow of cultists while the main army was defeated outside by Kren Scarlet, and Illen Purne.
Battle of Lorderon
- “Reinforcements had come in their tens of thousands to the area, and the cultists were horribly outnumbered in terms of military power. Their defeat at Kirin Tor had left their leadership scrambling to find a new weapon now that Kirin Tor was held against them, and before they could me and Emmett would tilt the scales.”
- — Leven Martell
Following the defeat of the Cultists at Kirin Tor two shadow council members would arrive in the form of Emmett McCarty, and Leven Martell of whom brought with them thirty men each from their houses and the most elite men they both had. The cultists had barred the main gates into the city and were defending them with great strength, but many smaller gates were less defended and it was through these gates that Leven, and Emmett would infiltrate through avoiding the gaurds through the assistence of several Violet Dragons that were still in the area. Now inside the city Leven, Emmett and their sixty men would fight their way to the keep where they found the Lucernian loyalists holding out within, and thousands of citizens hiding inside the walls for protection. Kael'Thuzad would marshal nearly his entire remaining force and pulled many if not all forces from the walls and brought them to the keep where he launched an all out assault. Thousands of demons and cultists charged the high walls of the keep, and the defenders led by Emmett, Leven, and Imlad would hold out against the inital assaults and cause horrendous casualties to the unprepared cultists attacking the walls.
- “They broke through the eastern gatehouse, and I charged into the breach with all the reserve I had at my disposal. They were too many in number, and if we let them loose within the castle they would quickly massacre the people of Lorderon and the defenders in short order.”
- — Leven Martell
As the attack of the Cultists failed all over it was Kael'Thuzad that went to the eastern gatehouse himself and using Magi alongside his commanders would shattter the entire gatehouse destroying it and leaving a massive gaping hole in the defences. Losing a significant amount of defenders Leven pulled all the reserves from the keep, and alongside her men and Emmett's men she and Emmett would charge into the breach and attempt to hold off the attacking cultists. The defenders were hardpressed to hold the massive numbers off but the untrained barely equipped cultists were cut down in droves, and this led to Kael'Thuzad ordering in several of his commanders including his second in command in Lord Voren of whom would kill many in front of him but was confronted by Leven Martell. Leven and Voren would fight one on one as the defenders slaughtered the cultists forcing many to attempt to retreat but these retreaters were killed by Kael'Thuzad of whom sent in Lord Savryn to deal with the situation. On the western gatehouse Imlad would murder the commander of the attacks there and charged his forces through the gatehouse and massacred hundreds of cultists forcing them to retreat southward, and allowing him to send several scouts to make the Lucernians come quicker.
- “When Kael'Thuzad moved into the fray I could feel it. It was like this massive ball of electricty was moving towards us, and I couldn't let Leven, and Emmett fight that monster alone.”
- — Edward Cullen
The scouts reached the Lucernian forces of whom were assaulting through the weakely defended outer walls, and moving slowly fearing it was a trap. Meeting the scouts Saiden Scarlet would understand it wasn't a trap and commanded all forces towards the keep with all haste, while he sent Mathew Clegane and his forces against the dock to deal with Ras Frostwhisper. Kael'Thuzad getting word that the army was only minutes away knew he had to move quickly to take the keep and then murder the population, so he waded into the battle himself. Fighting his way through his own forces he reached the front just as Leven, and Emmett killed Lord Savryn and pushed back Lord Voren. Smashing Emmett McCarty with a blast of Magi he flew back uncontious leaving Leven to fight against Lord Voren while Kael'Thuzad sent Magi blasts into the defenders of the breach killing dozens. Sencing Kael'Thuzad enter the breach Edward had left the southern gate and mvoed to the east where he reached the fighting and was able to block a spell that would have badly injured Leven. Fighting against Kael'Thuzad he and the Liche would battle for minutes until Lord Voren fell destroyed and Leven charged him as well turning the tide of the fight. Kael'Thuzad attempted to flee but was struck through the back by Leven's sword and destroyed. At the port Mathew Clegane would overwhelm Ras Frostwhisper with the support of Gemma Cullen of whom overpowered the tired Ras Frostwhisper but he retreated using a stone and disapeared alongside several of his commanders.
- “Arthas's remnents had been crushed, but he was still loose, and where he was now was anyone's guess.”
- — Leven Martell
With the death of Kael'Thuzad and the defeat of Ras Frostwhisper the skeletal elements and demons fizzled out of excistence, while the human elements of the cult were swiftly either killed or surrendered and made to live out the rest of their short lives in prison before they were executed. With Talia Menathil now Lady of Lorderon the population shifted back to the capital but was diminished from the numbers before as some one quarter of the city had turned to the cultists and were basically all dead while another quarter had died during the fighting leaving half the city dead. It was following the clean up that a letter came into the keep adressed to Edward Cullen, but it would be read by Leven Martell and the rest of the commanders inside the keep.

Fall of Northern Bolten
Fall of Northern Bolten
The Fall of Northern Bolten It was the final straggler for the Kingdom of Bolten, and it was gone. |
---|
With the negotiations with House Cole out of the way and having secured the Coles to their side of things the next stage of the operations was to take control of the northern section of the Kingdom of Bolten. In order to assist additional agents were sent into the area in the form of the Order of the Violet Dragon of whom sent in two Cloaks in the form of Matias Sorenson, and Asold Egeland of whom brought with them nearly a dozen Whelps including a prominent noble whelp in the form of Arya Starke of whom for her this would be her first mission for the Order of the Violet Dragon. With this in mind they would capture the river fortress of Mortling Stronghold after negotiating with the Cerwyn vassal in House Mortling of whom would align with the Lucernians in return for governance of their own province, and the ability to uplift several houses beneath them. For the part of the the Bolten loyalists it was Harrin Haryen and Lady Jocelyn Mortling would have a meeting with the Coles, and Scarlets of which she would soften the deal somewhat but also wanted the Lucernians in particular to know how valuable her house could be to them. The Coles would grant this, and Saiden Scarlet agreed, and thus the Mortling's joined their forces to the army, and they would plan to move northward towards the next point of resistance in the form of Castle Haryen in the west, and Shardore Castle in the east. For the part of the Mortlings they were already aware at this point that the forces of Northern Bolten were turning against the Boltens following the Dreadfort Massacre as Lady Jocelyn Mortling was a member of House Rusen and very close with her brother Titus Rusen the Lord of House Rusen. Saiden Scarlet, and the army of House Cole would before doing this stop briefly in the town of Mortling Stronghold following the agreement, and during this Saiden would find Olivia naked in his bed, and all of his resistance went away and they slept together. Following his sleeping with Olivia Wilde Saiden would wake up and realize what he had done, and instead of turning her away he brought her closer and told her that he would do everything in his power to remove himself from his broken marriage, and the two of them would be happy together. So after this declaration to her the situation changed and as they moved into the lands of the Cerwyn's, and Ryswell's she would be at his side during meetings, and it became clear to all that she was now his.
Following the taking of Castle Mortling, and staying there for several days they would move northward into the plains of southern Stoney Shore where they entered the lands of House Rusen, and upon reaching the Isles of Rusen the scouts reported a force of Bolten arrayed north of them. The scouts reported the army to be very undermanned in comparison to their own with only three to five thousand men, while the Cole, Lucernian, Mortling army numbered nearly thirty thousand. Saiden would command Tristifer Mudd to lead a force of three thousand men east where they would make for Shardore Castle and make sure the Cerwyn's were unable to relieve them. Sending two forces of two thousand cavalry each (One led by Dogan Mien, while the other led by Peter Cole, and Taimen Scarlet) to trap the Bolten army between them, he then moved the entire army nearly thirty thousand strong minus the forces just sent away, and moved towards the small Bolten army.
On the Bolten side the army was led by Alf Wolhane the powerful Magi, and Orton Haryen of whom was the heir to House Haryen. This army had been commanded by the Ryswell's to hide themselves south of the Rusen Isles, and wait for command to move as the Ryswell's and Cerwyns they had been told were going to move east of them, and the Haryen's were going to close the trap on the Lucernians. For his part Orton had planned to remain faithful to this plan as he was an honorable young knight, but Alf Wolhane had been given commands by Harren Haryen the Lord of House Haryen that when the time came he was to make sure they didn't reach the battle before the Lucernians had already defeated the Ryswell's and Cerwyn's, and then they would surrender to Lucerne and attempt ot regain their station against the destroyed remnents of House Ryswell. The other element of this Bolten army in the form of House Rurwell was also kept in the dark about the Ryswell trap, but Rodrik Ryswell had made sure that the Ryswell's sent were either stupid, or disloyal members of the family. Thus as the Lucernians litterly surrounded the army of the Haryen's and their vassals, alongside the other army of House Rurwell the army was simply awaiting word from House Ryswell to move, but the truth was that Rodrik Ryswell had never any plan to move south and simply wanted to weaken the traitorous elements of his forces before he ultimately surrendered.
With the cavalry forces in place the Lucernian army moved forward, and the forces led by Radlet Scarlet would kill the scouts and outliers of the Bolten force, and then the main army, and cavalry moved in, and the Battle of Rusen Isles began. Fighting during the day meant that the army of the Boltens was mainly awake, but most were unprepared for the attack, and the few fully armored, or equipped were overrun by the cavalry with any resistence swiftly desolving away as the massive Lucernian army simply overran their position. The Lucernians had given there men clear commands that those that surrendered were if possible, and with as much effort as they could use to be left alive. This meant that minutes into the battle as the Boltens surrendered the collapse spread throughout the Bolten army, and only minutes into the battle nearly the entire army had surrendered. During the fighting Alf Wolhane would flee the battlefield, and was able to evade capture as he made his way north to warn the Haryen's of the defeat they had suffered. Alf Wolhane was the exception to the rule as nearly the entire force was either dead or captured of which the nobles amongst them had been captured in high number, with few actully dying during the fighting. The Stoney ShoreMain Article : Stoney Shore
The defeat of the Haryen, and Rurwell army meant that the route to Stoney Shore was completely open, and thus realizing they would take that before Cerwyn Saiden would send another three thousand men to join Tristifer Mudd, and these men led by Tirion Fraizen, Quentin Greenwell, and Brunor Shadbolt would add to the siege of Shardore Castle, but they were not to move furthern then Shardore, and there main purpose was to block off the Cerwyn's. Saiden led the army to Castle Haryen where they attempted to broker the surrender of the castle by threatening to kill their hostage Orton Haryen, but the stubborn lord was so disapointed in his sons failure that he refused to accept the deal. As they were sitting outside the walls of Castle Haryen Saiden would recieve the first raven from the forces of House Ryswell, and they would suggest that they were willig to surrender, and that it would need to be quiet and at the point of a sword so that Rodrik would have the oppurtinity to do something he needed to do. Saiden would leave five thousand men under the command of Ser Laiden Rivers of whom was to siege the castle but not lose unessesary troops in taking a castle that everyone believed was going to surrender due to poor supplies and a depleted garrison, and with the rest of the army they moved towards Odenplain where they would reach the town, and immediatly the town surrendered under the white flag banner held by a contingent led by Rhea Rurwell, and her father Lucas Rurwell.
Odenplain's capture would force Saiden to leave a garrison behind in Odenplain, while half of the raised forces of House Rurwell would be commanded to follow the main army as it moved toward Stoneyshore. Stephan Moyer and the forces of House Moyer were left to garrison Odenplain, and with the capture of Odenplain the route to Stoney Shore was completely open, and with that the main army moved toward Stoneyshore. Reaching the vast city they would be met at the gates by Anna Ryswell, and her husband the heir to House Ryswell in Roger Ryswell. The meeting would be where the Ryswells made their point clear that they needed time to be besieged by the Lucernians so that Rodrik Ryswell could raise a force of men and travel to the Dreadfort in order to try and get back the Stoney Shore hostages in the Dreadfort. Believing Anna, and Roger it would be the decision of Saiden Scarlet that they put the city under siege for the week needed in order to prove that they were actually fighting and not simply giving up the city. The Port of CerwynMain Article : Cerwyn
With the Stoney Shore captured Saiden Scarlet would recieve a letter from the Cerwyn's of which detailed basically the exact same situation that the Ryswells had told them, and that they also wanted time in order to get their captured people out of the Dreadfort. Medger Cerwyn would at this point travel as well to Shardore Castle where he met with the Scarlet forces there and told them of the plan. Telling them that he and Rodrik Ryswell had created a plan where they would both amass a small force and go to the Dreadfort. Once at the Dreadfort they would pretend to be rallying support for men to return with them to releive the besieged Cerwyn, and Stoney Shore, but actually once there they would find the location of the hostages, and during the night they would recapture them, and then they would either return to their boats and make there way to Cerwyn, or they would fight through one of the gates, and move towards the Lucerne lines near Hayford. In terms of the Port of Cerwyn Saiden accepted this deal on the condition that they allow several Order of the Violet Dragon men to accompany them on the voyage to the Dreadfort, and when the Cerwyn's agreed Saiden would send word to the Order of the Violet Dragon encampent at Hayford that they needed to send men with the Cerwyn's in as quick a time as possible. The Order of the Violet Dragon would decide quickly on Thaleon Von Proveer of whom was the closest and most powerful of the VIolet Dragons in the area, and he quickly made his team and formed boats to meet the Cerwyn's and Ryswell's forces before they reached the Dreadfort. |
- “We moved quickly as we had the momentum, and although I had begun to hear whispers of disention in the north, one could never be to comfortable.”

- “The Mortlings had joined us, but the lands of the Ryswell's and the Cerwyn's still stood before us. Would they surrender to us, or would they fight to the death. After all these years I just wanted peace, and for that to happen I prayed they saw sense and surrendered.”

- “This was a trap. I just didn't know whether someone was trapping this Bolten force, or whether we were walking into one ourselves.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
- “We captured so many important prisoners that we honestly thought about sending them back to Caryle as there were nearly too many to watch over. It was a defeat along the lines of the Green Creek, and yet this was almost so blatent that it couldn't be real.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
The Stoney Shore
Main Article : Stoney Shore
- “The Battle of the Rusen Isles ended the conflict for me. After that it was just sieging castles until their masters told them they were okay to surrender. The fight was non existent in the north, and for that im thankful.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
- “You need to understand Milord. We Ryswell's we are yours. We are completely on your side, but the truth is that the Boltens have something dear to us. We cannot ever get it back unless you buy us the time needed to get it. I promice you here, and now that we are yours. I swear it.”
- — Anna Rusen
The Port of Cerwyn
Main Article : Cerwyn
- “I received the letter from the Cerwyn's nearly the moment I stepped into the surrendered city of Stoney Shore. I understood why they believed they couldn't surrender, and because I did I would play the game they wanted to play to buy them more time.”
- — Saiden Scarlet
