The Tarried Men are a mercenary group formed within the Yairns where they are centered within the Yairnish city of Thontish of which they dominate politically. The Tarried Men are led by the three Generals of whom hold their position through their martial skill and can be challenged by anyone on a yearly basis in a trial known as the "Challenge" and this position for this reason has historically been dominated by the most skilled.

The Yairns were historically a Dragonoph Knightly Order but recently this has fallen off with recruitment and enlistment into the Tarried Men no longer requiring a swearing in to Glaurung with newer recruits now able to worship freely.

The Tarried Men were formed breifly following the Independance of the Yairns from the Kingdom of Gondor, and alongside several of the other Knightly Orders that formed themselves in this indepence they would come to dominat the town of Thontish. The Tarried Men would become increasingly used in the mercenary sphere of Westros following their successful use and victory they would become intertwined with inside the River lands where they were instrumental in the independence of the region, but also following this they begin to take on a portion of their identity with R'hllor due to their time within the region of the Riverlands.

History

Early History
