The Tauren are a very large nomadic sentient Bovine people who lived on the grassy, open plains of Hispania for generations until the betrayal of their Titan progenitor Tarentiuv led to their near destruction in Hispania and exile to the south in large numbers. Tauren are large, muscular humanoids and bovine in appearance, complete with hooves and horns. They stand anywhere from six and a half to nine feet tall and weigh anywhere from 400 to 800 pounds. Their immense bodies are covered with fine, short fur that ranges in color from black to gray to white to red to brown to tan and any mottled combinations or variations thereof. After generations of nomadic existence, the tauren have recently made permanent settlements in Mulgore and the Barrens.
The Tauren have three distinct controlling groups in the form of the Nine Tribes of which is the Chaotic element of the Tauren people and is located in southern Africans. Secondly the Empire of Emblem where they are a major element of the Orcish Empire, and thirdly stands the independant tribes of Europe of which have hidden themselves throughout the regions of Central Europe.
The Tauren were created during the Mortal Foundings of the Earth and were the creation of the four Titan siblings in Taurentius, Tarentiuv, Taurentium, and Torentius of whom brought them onto the Earth in the region of Hispania where they were heavily allied to the Murloc, and Woses. The Tauren would become involved in the Eternity War as the corupted Tarentiuv would side with Khorne and join the forces of the Tauren to the forces of the Trolloc, but the Tauren were defeated by the Murlocs after Khorne betrayed Tarentiuv, and this led to the death of Torentius, and Taurentium alongside a significant portion of the Tauren while the remainder fled southward into Africanas where they settled in northwestern Africanas.
