Thaig Kortaze
Thaig Kortaze
is a large Dwarven Thaig within the Kingdom of Karak Izor, and is located in between the two large holds of Karak Izor , and Karak Mulger. The Thaig itself was a glorious Thaig that grew extensively rich through being the intermediary between the two holds, and it remained in this position until the Driving Tide where much of it was destroyed by the Nigh Goblins and it now stands contested between the two forces.

Thaig Kortaze was founded by Clan Redhorn during the initial forays into the Lucernian Mountains, and although they became just as powerful as Clan Durin, or Clan Blackbeard they were always placed in a far position of fourth behind the larger Clans. Thaig Kortaze would completely reject all calls for assistence of the other eastern Dwarves during the Driving Tide, and was nearly overwhelmed by the Goblins during the Driving Tide but was reinforced by the retreating remains of Karak Mulgar of whom took on a very large role within the Thaig. Thaig Kortaze would have only a brief period of peace following the Driving Tide before it would be attacked again by the Goblins of whom infested much of the bottom tier of the Thaig and leading to the current near constant siege that is a part of the life of Thaig Kortaze.

Population

Thaig Kortaze was once the third largest of the Dwarven settlements within the Lucernian Mountains, but those days of huge population are well behind the Hold now. Thaig Kortaze was devestated during the events of the Driving Tide, and since those days its non-military population has declined to almost nothing, with only a few hundred Dwarves continueing to live within the core of the Hold, while the main population has fled to Karak Izor, or northward.
