The Underway is a series of tunnels in the Lucerne Mountains that connect different cities and holds. The Underway was once a magnificent series of tunnels that the Dwarves had forked out in all directions from their central holds, but it has been laid low in most areas due to the destruction of the Goblins.
Originally constructed by the Dwarves of the Lucerne Mountains the Underway allowed for the easy, and quick travelling of goods, and people throughout the Dwarf Holds of the Lucerne Mountains. As the goblins came to the mountains in heavy numbers the Underway became lost to the Dwarves more and more until at this point the Underway is controlled mainly by the goblins, with only the northern sections of the Underway still in Dwarven hands. Under William Lovie III. the tunnels were expanded massively. William wanted a quick and safe means of traveling between all the Mountain Holds, without having to have any aware, and as well to allow for complete seclusion in the case that the Valley were to fall. Of course this meant that the areas around the southern axis were the only areas being expanded on, and the humans of Lucerne did not know how dangerously close they came to the mines controlled by the Goblins of Karak Mulger.

Either way the tunnels following their completeting allow for the quick and easy transport of people and goods across the southern parts of the Lucerne Mountains. With their completion though the Night Goblins of Karak Mulger haVe become busy eXpanding their own mines around the locations of the certain intersections of the Underway.
