Alavanna Windswift gains an insight into the Orcish invasion when she captures the Senegalian general Hanno Tagorid and became intimate with Hanno's daughter Adoncia.
The Valley of Tristfall begins with Alavanna Windswift and her sister sent into the Valley of Tristfall where they will assist the Bretonian Duke Florentin Suchet III. of whom has managed to gain control of the bridges into the Valley of Tristfall and they are assigned to keep him safe as he attempts to control the valley.
Alavanna Windswift is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter she is standing at the outside of a meeting as Mythea Shieldshade describes what she saw in Andorra follwing her escape froopoom the massacre there. Sentinal General Alleria Windrunner is discussing her plans to assist the humans of Bretonia in defending themselves following the Fall of Viche.
Alavanna Windswift is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter she leads her forces into the ambush of the humans accompanying the Orc army and moving quick she is able to lead them into successfully capturing dozens of the humans are darker skinned and also appear almost without weapons.
Alavanna Windswift is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter she stands on the walls of the fortress port of Saint Inreille alongside Lancelot Tirasse, and Bernart Moulins where the three discuss there strategy for defending the port against the incoming forces of the Orcs.
Alavanna Windswift is the POV Character of this chapter and during this chapter she arrives with her exhausted forces at the city of Brionne where after the defeat at Saint Inreille the remaining human forces of Duke Andriet Tirasse are linking up with the forces of Duke Florentin Suchet III. The chapter ends with Alavanna and the remainder of her forces moving through the Brionne southern gate leading what remains of the Brionne population out of the town. Looking back the story ends with Alavanna sharing a sad smile with Andriet Tirasse of whom stands surrounded by Orcs who appear to raise there swords which leads to Alavanna turning away so that she doesn't have to see what she assumes to be the death of Andriet.
