Walder Frey Cover
Walden Frey
rules the Twins as the head of House Frey and Lord of the Crossing, and the Emperor of Frey. Though past ninety years old and infirm, he still maintains an active hand in the running of his house. He is a vain, prickly, ambitious, and untrustworthy man. He has become famous for siring many children and surviving many wives. He is currently married to his eighth wife and has over a hundred descendants, base and trueborn. He has had twenty-two trueborn sons and seven trueborn daughters from his marriages, with an unknown number of bastard sons and daughters. He places a great emphasis on family loyalty, though his descendants jockey ruthlessly for his favor. Many Freys name their sons Walder and daughters Walda in hopes of honoring him.

House Frey would realize with great fear and caution that the expansion of the Kingdom of Lucerne was coming directly at them, and that the only way to stop them was to become something they were frightened of. In order to do this nearly every member of House Frey was brought to the capital of The Trident and they came to agreement that they would invite diplomats from the Kingdom of Lucerne into the lands of the Frey. Once they had arrived they would stage outbreaks against them, and make life so misserable for those in the lands of the Frey that they would fear to return to the island.
